We've had a great experience at McKay's Mill. The staff is very personable and remembers our dog by name. They don't keep us waiting long after we arrive for our appointment and Dr. Merrell is attentive and listens to our concerns.

I take my kitties to McKay's Mill Animal Hospital. The staff is very friendly. They also respect our time by getting me in and out quickly and give respect to the health and well being of my kitties by giving them a thorough exam and answering my concerns.

My first encounter with Dr. Kimberly Merrell came at a time our cat Boss was extremely ill. Boss had been treated by a cat clinic for over 16 months with no improvement. We took Boss to PetMed and luckily met Dr. Merrell. With-in 15 minutes she correctly diagnosed Boss??s problem, colon cancer. Surgery was required and a promise of weeks to live, Boss liven 8 months.
Our second Cat, Tadd had several health problems, a trip to an expensive specialist with no definite answers. Dr. Merrell became Tadd??s doctor also. She treated Tadd for the last 7 years of his 17 year life, keeping kept our baby alive, healthy and comfortable.

Tripp came to us as a stray kitten, badly injured but healthy. Naturally Dr. Merrell became his doctor and also performed surgery to repair Tripp??s injury. Tripp is a very healthy 5 year old bundle of love.

Dr Merrill is not only an excellent doctor and surgeon, far beyond our experiences with other many Veterinary Doctors in our some 50 years of cat and dog owners. Her compassion and loving attention not only to our babies but us. She explains everything carefully so you can care for your pet after they leave the hospital. She calls to see how things are going after treatment, is always available for a phone call when needed for some advice.

Being overly protective of our pets we felt comfortable with any care Dr. Merrell prescribed, trust her completely with our babies.

God bless this wonderful doctor, we love her dearly. Jim Lester

I went to Dr. Merrell when she worked at another vet office in Antioch Tennessee. When I found out she had opened her own business, I decided to drive the extra 20 miles to continue to take my 2 dogs to her. They are both 7 years old and she is the only vet they've ever known. Before my dogs, I had 2 cats that I lost within a couple of months of each other due to sudden illness. Dr. Merrell was extremely compassionate towards my cats and myself during that very difficult time. My cats had been to several other vets in the area and when I started taking them to Dr. Merrell, I immediately noticed a huge difference (compared to all other vets I had ever been to) in her compassion towards myself & my cats during their illness. She also was very knowledgeable regarding their illness and explained their prognosis and possible treatments/outcomes that could result. It really means alot to find a vet so wonderful that is not only knowledgeable of the latest treatments, but who realizes how much a part of the family pets are to their owners. I would not trade her for anything.

My dear 13-year old shaded silver persian cat - Mystique - recently became very ill and was showing signs of kidney failure. At the recommendation of a friend, I took her to McKay's animal hospital because I had not been particularly happy with my previous Franklin vet. Dr. Merrell and her entire staff were simply magnificent. They took such care with Mysti--and her fretful owner! Mysti had a seriously urinary tract and kidney infection and had to be hospitalized for 7 days. She is now home and we are cautiously optimistic she will make a full recovery, but Dr. Merrell has laid out all the options for treating her if she does have some degree of chronic kidney disease.

I especially appreciated the compassion and tenderness of Dr. Merrell and her staff, but on the business end they are also superstars. Before treatment was underway, they provided me with a complete estimate of expenses related to the recommended treatment and you just don't experience that with other vets in town.

I am so delighted to find Dr. Merrell and her team. I have transferred all my pet records to McKay's Mill Animal Hospital.

We've been taking our pets to Dr. Merrell since she opened in McKays Mill. Before that, we tried two other vets in the Franklin area but did not feel that there was real attention being paid to our animals so we were thrilled when a new vet moved into our local area. Dr. Merrell and all of her staff are absolutely wonderful. She takes whatever time necessary to answer all our questions and she is caring and compassionate with our animals. Her practice is new (although she herself is an experienced vet) and she is growing her business. But even with that said, she is as much a people person as an animal person and I am assuming that her wonderful "bedside manner" will continue to be the same no matter how busy her practice gets (We couldn't say that about our former vets who were often too busy to explain anything to us in any real detail because of over scheduled appts). Recently, our 16 year old Maltepoo became ill over a holiday when Dr. Merrell's office was closed. We left a message at her office asking her to call us the following morning and she actually called back that day within a few hours to follow-up on our message saving us from a panicked visit to the emergency vet in Brentwood. We would recommend McKay's Mill highly to anyone wanting quality care for their animals.
