I moved from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti. They were able to get me in quickly. They were polite, fast and listened well. They were fairly careful with my belongings, they are men so I can't blame them for not using soft hands at all time.

I have temporaily moved and willl be using CMC Transporation for the job. They wrapped, loaded, tagged and inventoried each piece of my belongings. Rodney noted the condition of the furniture on the inventory sheet & I was given a copy.

I would like to thank the staff at CMC for an outstanding job. During one of the most difficult times in my life having to move they made things easier for me and my family. The staff was very friendly and most of all patient with me. Set-up was done in a timely manner. Thank you again for a job well done

We needed a quick hire of a truck to get my daughter here from northern michigan. Rodney was friendly and gave us a price that was competitive with others. Note that all of the moving companies use regulated moving prices so price is not the difference in companies. Our stuff arrived in good shape and they went out of their way to get the furniture and boxes into place with lots of requests from us on the sidelines. I feel like a hired a different company than others are mentioning here. We had a good experience - we did end up paying a bit more than we first thought but we had also estimated the weight through an online quote system and the difference was our fault. Also - I haven't met a mover that smelled good yet. :)

Contracted for a move July 2009. Was overcharged and CMC refuses to give refund even now. Terribly unprofessional but excellent at misrepresenting facts and trickery. A couple of 'crew' members had terrible body odor and there was one that made me scared to be in the same room with (no kidding!).

I had utilized CM&S to store a small amount of furniture that was initially intended to be stored for a short period of time. 5 years and over 3k later, I finally was ready to get my stuff. I guess my first mistake was thinking that after 5 years of payments that where NEVER ONCE late, I would be treated with at the very least, some respect... man was I wrong. The day of the delivery the movers said I needed to pay in full (roughly 1k) before they even begin to unload the truck. I guess you could fault me somewhat for agreeing to this, but I know my thinking at the time was that they have my stuff, and I've already spent more in storage fees than this stuff is worth. So now, money paid in full, I was really stuck with any problems, and boy were they just about to start.\r
\r
For starters, more than half my furniture was missing. I immediately called Rodney and he told me that Saturday's are his day with this son and that he wasn't going to be able to do anything about it until Monday. I pointed out to him that I just paid in full, and that part of that agreed transaction was that I have my furniture delivered today, he pretty much said, ""Sorry, that's our policy"". Once all the furniture that was delivered, two items were damaged while in storage and a third was damaged during delivery. I was told by the movers to file a claim, so I did. It took 2 weeks to finally get the claim paperwork from them. The paperwork indicated it took 120 days for review (what a joke). I patiently waited to only have Rodney tell me it was reviewed and denied. When I asked how it can possibly be denied when the furniture was obviously damaged by them, he just repeated himself again and again (finally just telling me ""tough luck""). It was at this point that I called him out and told him that he never planned to reimburse me, did he? He just responded, ""Yeah, well, what are you going to do about it?"" I would love to take legal action, does anyone want to join me? This guy needs to pay.

I already felt sorry when i saw the other posts, but it was too late.\r

I was moving from one local city to another with 10 miles. i could not believe it took them 13 hours to do that with 3 guys and a truck. they also broke my sofa while try to push it out of my front door. when we got to my new place, i found out one of my corner cabnet door also broke, and the speaker stands for my stereo system were bended among a list of other things. their manager asked me to fill out the claim form, but until now, 10 months later, i have not seen a single penny. i called them multiple times and they told me they will work on it every single time. i felt really sorry that i took their words and paid them after the move. admitted that i have a lot of stuff to move, but i could not believe it took them 13 hours from my 1100 sf ranch. i agree with the other reviewer, these guys are crooks, should have been shut for business for ever.

We used Campbell's for a very small move between Ann Arbor and Los Angeles, arranged on less than 24 hours notice. (We attached our shipment to one that was already going...) We were able to do 1/2 payment upon pickup, and the other 1/2 on delivery -- Rodney will do that if you request it. The men who did the pickup in Ann Arbor were more than an hour later than their 4 hour window. On the delivery side, they were more than a day late and hard to get in touch with. (No contact at all until after the delivery was supposed to have occured, the main office in Ypsilanti claimed not to have a way to contact the driver, and when the driver finally did call he claimed not to have a way to contact the main office.) Everything arrived eventually, although most of the boxes were badly damaged (none of the contents -- mostly clothes -- were damaged) and one piece of furniture was slightly damaged. My understanding from the driver (who seemed like an overworked and undercompensated individual) is that Rodney doesn't run the most organized of businesses, and tends to pass any costs from the customers directly on to the drivers -- without taking any responsibility as the owner/contractor. Although it was nice to be able to arrange the move on very short notice, I did finish the deal feeling like I'd been ripped off. Based on the other reviews on this site -- we were lucky just to get our belonings. I'd suggest finding another moving company.

This has to be the worst company ever!!!! Everything my Mom & Step-Dad owned was left in this moving truck along side the road in another state. No calls of compasion for my parents, no nothing except rudeness & being ripped off my the most nastiest of con-men. All I can say is this...I hope this company has a better lawyer than mine because this WILL NOT happen to another family. My parents were left overly stressed and broke because of this company...please, this is one the worst companies ever. You'll get ripped off before you know what happened. My parents would've received better service and better compassion from a mule and a carriage.

My husband and I hired World Moving Services out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida who hired this company to move our furnishings from Iowa to Arkansas (a 7 hour drive). The driver showed up with no money, food or fuel. The 53 foot semi ran out of gas before they left Iowa and left the semi in the middle of the road and just walked off. Left our things unsecured, the truck unlocked with the keys in the ignition and an impression of our credit card in our paperwork on the seat. The owner, Rodney insisted on his money up front. We had no choice. They were suppose to deliver on the 11th and finally delivered on the 16th. The owner never called with an update. We were suppose to pay by weight and the truck was NEVER weighed. He took money based on a very high estimate saying we would get the money back if it didn't weigh that much but they are refusing any sort of compensation. World Moving Services said it was against the law to do that but they REFUSE any sort of compensation also. We feel we were very ripped off. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES. YOU WILL BE SORRY!

I hired a company named Nationwide to move my household items from KY to WA. They gave the sub-contact to Campbell's Moving Compnay from MI to move my stuff. They broke their contract and deliver date 4 different times! I called everday to see when my stuff would be here, I was threatened by the president of Campbell's who's name is Rodney. He told me that everyday I call, he will push my date back further and futher. I gave him his money up front, so he had all the leverage against me. That's how he got me. My household goods are still not here. It has been a month now. They could have walked it to me faster. These two companies are crooks. And the worst part of it, they did this to my family and I during Christmas. My wife and 2 kids sat in an empty house on Christmas and New Year's. We didn't even have anything to sit on. I am a veteran, and never expected people to treat others like this. They also are saying that they will not give us any of our money back. Our family plans on seeking legal advise. Please do not give your money to this company. I want to make sure they do not do this to another family in the future. This is a very sad situation....
