Charlie's La-Shish is a good place for Mediaterranean food. The restaurant is huge, but even then, you may still have a wait because it's popular. Parking is plentiful. The portions are gigantic. By the time I got a quarter of the way through my salad, I was already feeling full. I brought home enough leftovers for several more meals. The prices are reasonable, especially when you consider the quantity of food served.

Ok, this can be confusing as this restaurant has had 3 name changes in the recent past. It is still owned and operated by the same person, the name change has to do with politics, not a management change. Anyway, this is reallly good food -- I love the light falafal (different from other more heavy versions) and anything lamb is particularly good. The pickles (various vegies) are yummy and I always order extra.

I had dinner here with a friend at her recommendation. I was impressed with the fast and friendly service. My favorite part of the meal was the homemade pita bread and hummus, everything was great though!

As someone raised on Middle-Eastern cuisine (well, Armenian but close enough) - La Shish Ann Arbor (soon to be Charlie's Mediterranean Food ) is where I go when I am feeling nostalgic for home-cooked food. The portions are huge - you will have lots of take-home leftovers and the service has been excellent every time I've visited.
I would recommend these menu items: Chicken Shwarma with Hommus plate or sandwich, Lamb Chops, any of the kebab sampler platters, the Tabouli - and of course the wonderful pita with garlic paste or concasee' they bring in copious amounts to the table. This is a great place to bring vegetarian friends or family, as there are lots of options for them to choose from. The only menu item I have not enjoyed is the Keffte Kebabs - they are flavored with cinnamon/sweet spices and I do not like these spices in meat dishes. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.

Pros: Delicious food - great service.

Cons: Don't bother if you don't like garlic :O)
