Worst company ever. Do not ever live or rent from this company ever. Scammed me out of more than 1000 dollars. Was told I would be pro-rated for a months rent based on when I moved out. Never received any money and they wanted me to dispute that through their office when I called their office. Going to take them to court.

Also, you can't even pay online it's like this company is based in 1995. Their parent company is the Dart Cup company so I sure as hell won't ever buy any of those cups ever again either.

I would give them no stars if that was an option. My mother has lived at Heather Ridge apartments in Westland, a Dart-managed complex, for 18 years and has been a model tenant. Despite always paying her rent on time for NEARLY TWO DECADES, Dart has just sent her an eviction notice. The manager tried to claim it was not an eviction, just that they weren't renewing her lease, yet funnily enough, the paperwork she's received from them sure does say eviction. Sorry Dart management, semantics don't make any difference except maybe to make you feel better. My mother will be 80 this year, is handicapped, and has a heart condition, yet Dart is putting her out on the street and in the middle of winter to boot. Being the cowards they are, they refuse to tell her why they are evicting her; they just hide behind the "It's perfectly legal, we don't have to give her a reason" excuse. Since it makes no good business sense especially in today's economy to kick out a model tenant who has paid rent on time for 18 years, it points to age discrimination, and they will be investigated regarding this. There is also another senior at Heather Ridge, who even used to work in the office there, who got an eviction notice around the same time as my mother. If they lose money on giving tenants senior discounts (which is hardly significant), all they have to do is say they're not giving those discounts anymore. But they won't give my mother that option, and they won't even allow her to rent from month to month until she finds a suitable place to move to. Even after being informed of my mother's age, handicap, and heart condition, they still refuse to budge, saying that they're not changing their minds and she'll just have to get used to it. So, be fooled by how "nice" the management/office staff may be at your own risk. "Nice" people don't treat handicapped senior citizens this way.

The apartment unit was okay except for constant noise from a inside furnace unit. The management is another story. They will use all tricks up their sleeve to get at your money and will charge exorbitantly if they get a chance. They are a big business so tenants are like dirt. I say at the end of the day, this apartment is not worth that hassle. If you have kids you might even want to reconsider more. Stay away from this place. Don't get fooled into any lease here unless you want to learn a lesson.

I have lived in Oak Hill Apartments in Shelby Township for almost 2 years and I think this is the best place I have ever lived. I owned a condo in Naples Fl in an exclusive development and the grounds and staff were not as attentive as the staff here at Oak Hill. I love living here and plan to stay!

If you rented from Dart Properties in Michigan, and you experienced problems that were unfair and you were treated poorly, even though you paid your rent on time, I would like to hear from you.
These may include unexplained eviction threats, unrealistic charges for damage after leaving, aggressive requests to testify in court against other tenants, rude treatment from the office staff, incorrect information before leasing, lack of support from the office staff to resolve problems, problems with unit such as excessive repeated repairs, and/or corporate office administration rudeness as well as anything else that might be of interest. If you were seriously delinquent on your rent or had drug evictions against you in this community, this is not for you.
Dart Properties (Michigan) owns Oak Hill Apartments in Shelby Twp/Utica, Lauren Valley and Shoal Creek in Sterling Heights, and Hidden Lakes in Clarkston. The corporate office is on Dequindre in Sterling Heights.
I am seeking legal advise regarding many of these issues and believe there are many, many residents out there that had similar experiences.
