NOT A GOOD PLACE TO SEND YOUR DAUGHTERS TO RIDE. The owner flirts with almost every nice looking mother/rider. The western 'trainer' propositioned a 19-20 yr old, in exchange for lessons. The facility is un-kept & the horses are not properly taken care of. On several, if not multiple, occasions, there is not enough feed/hay for all the horses & it must be rationed. The stalls are not kept clean on a regular basis. Several boarders have left due to lack of trained staff, unqualified/uncertified trainers, & very poor boarding conditions. There are SEVERAL better riding facilities in the area. I used to board my horse here, until I found out he wasn't being fed on a regular basis, and was being abused when I was not around. My horse died a short time after due to his lack of nutrition from First Impression Farm.

If you don't know a lot about horses, DON'T START HERE. I was there for 4 years of promises that changes were on the way, rules would be followed by the teenagers that boarded there, and horses would be fed better soon. We were lead to believe that "sweet feed" was good for horses and that "weed" filled hay was perfectly fine for the horses. The changes never came. The facility is very nice, but the care of the horses is horrible.

I have never been to this particular facility, but work at a local farm nearby. We have had a few boarders transfer to our farm from theirs, complaining about poor care. I have heard of a few occasions where the facility has run out of grain and bedding.
On another note, the state of many of the horses that I have seen from that facility, at shows and other events, was not good. Many were too thin, with little training, being ridden by novice teenagers. This not only hurts the horses, but their riders also, as it teaches poor horsemanship. I have heard numerous comments from their riders or their parents, blaming their horse, the judge, or the facility they were at for being "out of the ribbons." They never take responsibility for their own riding, because they have not been taught that it is not the correct way to go about things. This leads to many dangerous behaviors from their horses, and I have seen many of their riders tumble off during a show due to this ignorance. It is my hope that whoever reads this chooses a different stable to board their horse, of take lessons from.

First of all, I am not talking reviewing the Therapeutic Riding program at First Impression Farm. I am reviewing the Farm its self. The Therapeutic Riding program is good and they seem to have that under control.

Its is regular riding I feel needs reviewing. This part of the farm never seems to have enough staff around and there always seems to be so many children running around the horses, behind them, through their legs etc. The horses themselves, seemed very tired and over worked!

I do not go riding here anymore do to all of this.
