I have a spacious apartment in kerrytown that is nearly perfect for us. The apartment is about average for the area price wise. The building is in need of some work (windows that are insulating, more insulation in the roof), but overall it's a good place for student housing.

The company itself is a mixed bag. I'll start with maintenance. A few of the maintenance people are very professional, and know how to fix that which is broken. On the other hand, it seems like most of them are more clueless than your average college student about repairing things. Had a 1" gap under our door for over two weeks in the middle of winter because one of the maintenance people decided they didn't have the part to replace the threshold but they'd tear out the old one anyway. Also, getting them to call before they walk in and leave the door open for over an hour, is like pulling nails. Zero people in this company can handle any sort of "special" request. We do have cats and fortunately they didn't escape.

We request they call before entering for two reasons. 1) so we can reiterate that we have cats so keep an eye on the door. 2) so we don't walk out naked to find a stranger standing in our apartment. The bedroom and bathroom are seperated enough that someone at the door can't be heard inside the apt.

The Office staff must talk to each in interpretive dance. We chose not to renew, and they called us several times to see if we are leaving. They quoted three different rents during these phonecalls. The difference wasn't a huge but it still raises the question; what would our rent be? Also, if you tell any one person that answers the phone a bit of information, expect it to be mangled beyond recognition.

They are showing my apartment soon, and the person called to tell me about the appointment. This wouldn't be an issue except I chose the option of recieving an email. Also the person was clueless that there were cats in the apt.

Overall, I'd avoid this company if you have any requirements outside of their little box. It's really not worth the hassle to deal with them if there's anything special at all about your situation or apartment.

I lived in the Geddes Hill Apartments. The CMB management office was right in the building so it made communicating with the staff very easy. They were friendly and helpful. If we had an issue with something in our apartment, it would be fixed in a timely manner.
