I had the opportunity to see the old high school before it was moved to 6 mile and saw the difference first hand. The new school resembles a mall, but otherwise the teachers and education is first-rate. My parents wanted to live in another city, but looking in the best interests of their kids, Northville public schools have provided a satisfactory education (I graduated in 2003). Many people find that one teacher who meant everything and it was the reason he/she would go onto college or keep working hard at something they found passion in. I've had at least 5 of these teachers from middle to high school. Ranging from English, to Sociology to Art. The school is filled with artwork (three mural sized works) designed or organized by some of the art teachers who made the transition with us from the old to the new high school.
There is a downside, all one needs to do is look around at all the developments of new huge houses and how every other car is an SUV. This is a highly supported school. There are so many new additions to the school since I've left, including 15 new classrooms, three science labs, two computer labs, an art room and a state of the art broadcast/production studio... Needs more diversity though I think.

PROS: Highly supported School
CONS: Needs more diversity
