I was happy to be treated with respect and not prejudged because of my debts. He was willing to negotiate a settlement on my debt and now this is behind me.

I owed a debt along with two other roommates from an apartment we lived in. While I know we owed some of the money we disagreed on some of the charges. Jenny worked with me to settle my account less some of the charges we did not agree

For a collection agency these guys are great!
I could not get my college transcripts to enroll in school until I paid this bill. To make a long story short they went out of their way and jumped through some hoops to make it happen for me.

I was surprised when the customer service representative asked me to write a review about my experience with them but it seems they are concerned about their public image. I could not be happier with the way I was treated by Mrs. Mckenna.

If I could give them a negative number for a rating, I would give them a -10. I received a phone call from this company about a debt for a medical bill. They started the phone call by asking me for my credit card or bank information

I have some outstanding medical bills that I've been paying on for over a year. During that time, I had made the mistake of allowing ACH access to our bank account. Recently the permission had expired, and I did not renew it. Instead I chose to mail our payment in.

I suspect that my payment is being held in someone's desk to make it late, as it was mailed (within the same city) 2 days prior to it being due. Today, the day after the due date, I received a harassing phone call from someone claiming to be an attorney and threatening a lawsuit. The guy even went so far as to say I was trying not to pay the bill (that I have been paying on for over a year - it's almost paid off, why on earth would I stop now?)

At this point, I'm waiting to see if they try to take the full balance out of our bank account. If they try, they will be getting their pants sued off!

**UPDATE** I checked my account on the Merchants and Medical website and wouldn't you know, there was my payment, recorded as being received on the date it was due. So I called and talked to "Mrs. Fisher" and she claimed that they had JUST gotten my payment and that they were sending it back and they were "done dealing with me"....yadda yadda yadda...Now, while I was typing this, I just got ANOTHER phone call and "Mrs. Fisher" actually apologized to me. I love it when someone has to eat a little humble pie.

Two weeks later i had another moron on the phone with me.She just started rambling on about the debt.I told her i knew about it and was willing to start the agreed upon monthly bill and she told me NO!!!! These people try pushing you around to get all the money now and default on their own agreements!!!!! She tried talking over me so i let her have her time (i listened) when it was my turn she did just that and tried talking over me and belittle me.NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She ended the call with me by hanging up and so did the initial moron because she couldnt push me around and got frustrated i think. When these morons call you KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! These people are horrible. It's very obvious they have never been trained in costumer relations. My 17 yr old daughter had answered the phone & Mr. Romen asked for my husband. My daughter stated that he wasn't available. He told her that he was calling about the accident she had in the school parking lot earlier this year. He told her that a "warrant" was going to be issued for her & my husband's arrest because we did not have insurance on the car she was driving. She told him there was insurance on that car. He wouldn't listen. After hanging up she told me that she had received the strangest call. It was some man saying that there was going to be a warrant out for her arrest because of the accident at school & he said that we didn't have insurance on the car. I immediately called the number she was given & asked for this man & of course he was not available. I was transferred to a Mrs. Wilson, supposedly his supervisor. I tried to explain that he had questioned my 17 yr old & he had scared her to death by threatening her with a warrant for her & my husband's arrest. I tried to tell her that I did not appreciate the manner in which he spoke to my daughter. She defended him by saying that he would never say that. Then she said she wouldn't talk with me because I was not involved. After realizing my daughter was with me, she spoke with me. I explained that we did have insurance. She would not listen, threatened me with license suspension. Finally she told me that AAA, the other Ins. company, submitted a bill to them. She said that we would not pay so AAA hired them. I told her we never received a bill from AAA. Explained that both kids had exchanged info with Ins. listed. She tried to accuse my daughter of not changing her address when she moved. I said she never moved. We were guilty & nothing was changing her mind. I had my Ins. Co. send her proof. She said it was enough to end collections. I wish I had a way to do something to them for the
threats used.

I received a call from Scott Andrew about a debt I was never informed of from Baker College. He thought I was an idiot and treated me as such. He tried to demand instant payment by check or the debt would post to my credit report instantly. I told him I was going to contact Baker to figure out what was going on and he said they would just refer me back to him. Scott kept on pushing that I pay him now! I refused. At the end of our initial conversation he then notified me that anything I said could be used to collect the debt (basically in court, and being recorded).

HE DID NOT NOTIFY ME IN THE BEGINNING SO I INSTRUCTED HIM TO DELETE THE CALL AS HE WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO RECORD MY CALL. HE WAS STUNNED!

I also notified Scott that I indeed work for a FDCPA ( Fair Debt Collections Practices Act ) Attorney and will be looking for mistakes he makes. Under this law they are very limited to what they can say, do, and how they can contact you! $1000 fine payable to the consumer for every violation! I can make more from them than I owe!

If you need more information about the FDCPA CONTACT ATTORNEY REX ANDERSON AT 810-653-3300 HE SPECIALIZES IN BANKRUPTCY AND SUING DEBT COLLECTORS.

Well I went in person to Baker and spoke with the Business Department. They admitted fault for never notifying me but could not change the collections action. But they did discuss it with me very willingly.

After my meeting with Baker I agree I owe the debt and called Scott back. This time he was very polite and respectable. I am dropping off a payment in person to make sure I have a duplicate copy of my check. He said they do not give receipts so that is why I have duplicates. I will also be demanding a statement of my account as they are required by federal law to VALIDATE ANY DEBT.

Hopefully all goes well. Over all they seem like a fair company but should not get snotty with a customer on the first phone call until they hear both sides of the story.

I am REALLY not happy with how many things were handled by this company. The girl that I talked to was initially rude and conscending. She first had called my husband at work. She was rude with him and immediately threatened civil action against us. Then I tried to explain that the hospital was supposed to rebill us and send us an itemized bill. The hospital never did either and instead sent the debt to this company. When I told her this she said "Well, neither the hospital or us are going to waste another tree to make the paper to someone who probably won't pay. and just trying to put it off." I had not recieved the letters that they claimed to have sent. She was getting more rude with me the longer I sat on the phone. She finally said something about the letters being blue and that really confused me. I'm not sure exactly what I said to her but she then realized that I really hadn't recieved them. Then and only then did her attitude lessen. I did set up payments with her that day and she was supposed to send me papers so the payment could be automatically with drawn. It is now 2 weeks later and I have not received the paperwork to do so and the next payment is coming up. I had to call her back and again she was rude with me. What the heck! I'm someone who is trying to pay you and this is your mistake. Something is not right if you are sending me something and they are NOT getting to me. They are just rude and condescending and what made me the most angry was that I'm trying to work with her and never denied the debt and she was to rude.

I didnt have a problem with them. I was very polite to them as they were to me. I did what they asked of me right off the bat and then they worked with me on what else could be taken care of. Also at any time I needed more time to set things up with them they were always more than understanding about my personal situations. The Person assigned to my account was very friendly and not only helped me with my financial obligations to the company she also gave some helpful advise with other problems i'd been having. All and all a plesant experience aside from the $4,600 I had to pay them, lol. But that was owed to them if they were jerks or not.

I totally agree with the other user. They are short, rude , demeaning and condescending. I have returned a call in response to a message they left and then the person I am looking for is conveniently unavailable and yet the person you are on the phone with claims to be the secretary for the person you wanted in the first place. Total lines of lies and deciet are trying to be fed that I just end up hanging up on them.
What, do they think the population that exists outside of their companies four walls are stupid idiots?!! Not me!!!
I would never do business with them in a million years!!!

Over the phone the associates called me childish for asking questions that they refused to answer. They claim that I was making outrageous claims/demands that they could not satisfy when in actually I was asking simple questions. I was asking how I am supposed to know that my account is closed with them, why after 'closing' my account could I still access the information, and if they had a complaint department. They apparently could not help me submit a claim that I was called childish by one of their associates because "i know both supevisors and neither one would ever say anything like that" said another associate. Well I didnt realize it was company policy to call people childish for asking questions about their company policies and to treat people like they are inferior.
