Took a car there to get it repaired. After getting the estimate determined that it wasnt worth repairing. However the mechanic thought it was worth repairing and wanted to buy it. After arranging a price everything seemed fine. Should have been suspicious after he only had part of the agreed purchase price and wanted the title handed over without a name to assign it to. Everything was supposed to be taken care of a week later. He then called and instead of fulfilling the sale he claimed to have worked on it and that it had another problem (despite the fact that the car had previously been repaired by him and all problems were known to him ahead of time) and demanded his money back. He then proceeded to threaten to vandalize the car and steal its parts, claiming he could do anything he wanted to it since it was on his property. After calling him out on his threats he refused to disavow them.

needless to say i had to call the police. we all worry that a car repair place might rip us of or steal but in most cases it's just the fear of the unknown. in this case the fear was real as he explicitly threatened to do just that. avoid this place like the plague.
