Conveniently located next to such innovative eateries as Fuddruckers, La Tasca manages to stand out on this high-traffic block. Though an international chain, it??s not too kitschy, with two levels of dcor that discusses Mediterranean, but doesn??t shove it down your throat. La Tasca has one of the better happy hours in the area: $15 pitchers of fruit-on-the-bottom sangria and some $3.00 tapas. My favorites include: fried eggplant with savory dip, mixed olives, papas bravas (ask for extra-brava), outside-crunchy, inside-creamy croquetas, and anything done al ajillo (garlic and olive oil). Unfortunately, happy hour is only available in the bar area, which fills up quickly, and gets really loud, so to take advantage, arrive early.

I don't dislike La Tasca, but I don't hate it - I've been here plenty of times on my own accord and had a nice experience. The food here pretty good, but not amazing or very original. They offer pretty much all the classic tapas you can hope to find in a Spanish restaurant. Their paella is good, although when you've had authentic paella from home or in Spain, it's hard to live up to that. They do have great deals with happy hours; certain nights have half off drinks or half off pitchers of sangria, or other great deals, so La Tasca is great for bringing groups and ordering a lot of food and drink.

Pros: solid classic tapas, extensive menu, plenty of space

Cons: isn't local or authentic

We had great tapas and a fantastic Spanish wine here recently. Really attentive service as well, we ordered the assortment for three people and the food was quite yummy.

Dinner at the restaurant was phenomenal. We sat outside and had excellent service.

For a party of two, a nice bottle of wine and 3-4 tapas dishes is sufficent, leaving just enough room for desert.

Food was a bit pricey yet satisfying, but you pay for the atmosphere as well.

PROS: great ambiance and food
CONS: price
