First lets start by saying that the office building is nice and the area is nice. I am glad I waited to write this review, because my first experience was just lovely. My first visit was a consultation, which went as expected. I was given a treatment plan and estimated costs of the services. I initially went to the dentist because I broke one of the fillings in the back on the top left side. On my second visit we started with the treatment plan. One of the teeth that she was supposed to replace the filling, she performed a root canal. At the end of the visit, I was told my out of pocket portion would be estimated at $758.00 (for the entire series of services). I went back for a third visit on 10/14 to have a filling filled and the first crown put on. She stuck so many needles in my face, that I literally could not tell if I was blinking or not. The Novocain did not wear off for about 10 hours. I couldn't barely speak. The fourth visit wasn't bad, other than I can't really tell you what service she performed. Today iced the cake. I went in, sat in the chair, and the dentist came in to numb me . She stuck me three times. Then the receptionist came in about 5 minutes later and wanted to go over the additional out of pocket expenses that I would need to pay. So basically with the additional crown, it would cost me an additional $914 out of pocket. The receptionist explained that she miscalculated the cost. What baffles me is that the receptionist comes up with the billing charges, the doctor explains them to you and neither one realizes that the additional crown is not on the sheet after we discussed what was going to happen on the next visit before I came back. So now I am sitting at my desk numb with no services rendered and displeased by the robbery this dentist office performs on a regular basis. If given the option, I would have chosen to have the tooth way in the back pulled. I am sure that doesn't cost almost $1000. But I wasn't given the choice. I was given an incomplete bill, with coding that is not understandable to people that do not work in a dentist office, and a soft filling which will probably go bad really soon. Thanks Dr. Obholz

.

There are plenty of good dentist in the Area. I wish I had done more research on Dr. Obholz and gotten a second opinion, but I must live and learn. My experience with Dr. Obholz was costly, painful and time consuming. In the end, it is my own fault for not researching for a well rated dentist. When it comes to doctors/dentist it is worth it to ask friends and collegues for recommendations and not just pick a name out of an insurance catalogue. Good luck.
