Wow, this is a TERRIBLE company to rent from. I rented a studio apartment in Bexley for two years, nine months out of pure convenience.
For the first year and a half, I was literally asked to keep an eye on my neighbor, who constantly BROKE THE WINDOWS, DOORS, WALLS in his apartment by throwing fits (my landlord excused this because it was apparently the son of a good friend. Meanwhile, I was the one who was frequently woken up in the middle of night and had to call the police).
This company DOES NOT take care of their properties, the windows and doors in the halls were constantly broken and lights always burned out; the hallway could have used a simple coat of paint, but instead the company continued to allow the building to look like it was quite literally falling apart.
This company is RIDICULOUSLY UNORGANIZED. When I requested a nine-month lease after being an excellent tenant for two years, I had to pay extra for the convenience of NOT being a standard two-year lease...except the landlord LOST the lease and continued to put a $30 balance forward on any statement I received (which was not often, trust me) because she thought I was still under the original payment price. I started to take advantage of this after a few months, thinking there must have been a mistake on my water bills and I had been overpaying. When I moved out, the landlord not only kept my $300 security deposit, but
also charged me a $300 brokerage fee, despite the fact that I had given full notice in accordance with the lease. In addition, I was charged an extra $150 for changing a lock I DIDN'T change and not cleaning a fan and blinds that I HAD cleaned.
When I disputed the charges, the landlord didn't even remember that I was on a 9-month lease and we started a three-month battle in which I had to involve my family lawyer. Finally, the landlord found the lease in which I myself had changed both the lease year and the price we had verbally agreed upon. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Pros: Nice area

Cons: Extremely poor business practices, terrible customer service and response to problems

.

Loved my apartment, great Short North location, and they treated me reasonably well...until I had the audacity to move out.

I bought a condo just up the street and needed an extra month beyond the original term of my lease to wait for closing. Giannopoulos wouldn't even give me a few extra days, unless of course I wanted to pay pro-rated rent PLUS $50 extra PER DAY. How's that for customer service?

To add insult to injury, when I finally got my security deposit back (past the legally required 30 days) they had deducted $250 from my security deposit for painting. When I moved in to begin with, the walls had clearly been shoddily painted and needed a second coat. I never painted and the place was immaculate when I moved out. I guess they decided to charge me for a job they never finished in the first place. Stingy bastards.

Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere. This company isn't worth the time or hassle.
