My husband needed a new tire. When I checked prices online last night, they had a variety of tires to choose from for his make and model of car. When we went in this morning, instead of giving him a choice of tires to choose from, they told him that there was only one tire that would be good for his car to allow it to perform at its peak. And of course this tire was $200. And then as it went, he need another 3 tires at $200 a pop. Unfortunately for them they only got $400 out of us instead og the almost $900 that they were trying to get. They knew that we had no choice , that the tire needed to be replaced was blown. I think they took advantage of a customer who is not familiar with tires and such and I would not recommend anyone to go. When I have needed tires, I have gone to another company and they were very helpful and didn't scam me for more money and was very honest. I guess when I go to purchase tires and rims for my car in the next couple months, these guys will not be getting my business.

It's pretty obvious the last review was from the manager. I have gone to this Tire Discounters as they are convenient and the prices are decent. However, they have very inexperienced young staff.

Last year I got new tires and an alignment there. Several months later I noticed my steering fluid was leaking. I checked and they had melted off the tie rod boot and tried to fix it with a zip tie which did not hold. This allowed months of dirt and debris to enter and ruin the end link and rack and pinion. I replaced it and brought it back to TD on Gemini (not sure why) for the alignment. When I went to pick it up I checked and THEY HAD MELTED ANOTHER BRAND NEW BOOT RIGHT OFF THE TIE ROD!! I confronted the manager, Michael, who told the guy who had performed the alignment to check it out.

He looked underneath and acted surprised about it. It was melted right off...he couldn't have missed it. He then said, "I had to heat the $h1t out of it to get the nut loose." Not true as these nuts had been on less than 24 hours. I think they just do whatever makes their job easier.

He told Michael who said they would replace the boot and then went on about how upset he was that his tech didn't let him know. Don't complain to me...I don't want to hear the word "$h1t" from your employee and how you're mad at him. Let's get professional here.

Anyway, they did not tape it up or anything and let it go while they took 2 weeks to get the part. I also told them to please straighten up the wheel this time around as I do not like the wheel to be at the 11 o-clock position to go straight.

This happened twice in a row to me and they would not have owned up to it if I had not thought to check. Makes me wonder how many folks drive out of their with their vehicles worse off.

I have used this location for my families needs on four vehicles that I own. I have purchased tires and repairs on every one of them and have road hazard warranty on every set of tires. I understand that this coverage would be optional when I purchased the tires but realized that its just plain and simple educated common sense to do so. I have also had all of my cars serviced at this location and have been satisfied on price, quality and expeditious service. The management and staff has always treated me with the utmost respect for my time and hard earned money. I would recommend Michael and his young staff to any and all in the surrounding Columbus area. I would say that if you are in need of tires, brakes or any other work they do there, you only need to make one call, this one.

On 1/18/10 my daughter bought a set of tires for her Durango. They asked her if she wanted the extended warranty and she said no thinking that the tires already had manufacturer's warranty. 1/19/10 she had a flat. Got AAA to change the tire for her and my wife took it in to the Gemini store. They told her that road hazard isn't part of the warranty. So my wife coughs up an extra $60 for the road hazard which the "graciously" said they would let her get. They said she had a piece of metal in the tire and asked my wife if she wanted it. She said sure and she'd bring it home to show me. She never actually saw them pull it out of the tire so she doesn't know if they're trying to screw us over or not. Did they replace the tire? No. Just plugged her brand new, 24 hour old tire. And does the warranty give her a new tire if this one doesn't hold air? Nope. Just another plug because it is pluggable. They could have done the right thing and replaced the tire, but apparently it is more important to make a quick buck than it is to alienate an entire family and get bad reviews on every site I can think of to post on.

When I looked into the shop and saw all the young workers texting on their cell phones I should have walked away.... I watched while the shock boy used an impact wrench for about 10 minutes to try and remove the rear shocks on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee classic. Then the manager, Michael, called me out to the shop and told me I had a broken bolt and they could not complete the work. Michael said I would have to take it to a dealer to have it repaired. I did go to the dealer because you can't drive around with your shock holding on with one bolt. Cost me an extra hour labor for rear shocks at the dealer. I figured Michael would man-up and at least reimburse me for the extra hour labor from the dealer, specially after breaking the bolt and all the trouble for me having to schedule the dealer appointment, but he insisted the bolt was broken before they started the work. Now I don't think the shock boy would have spent all that time spraying penetrating oil on all the bolts and wrestling with them for 10 minutes and then discover one of them was already broken. I do like the 4 Michelin LTX M/S tires but I can't recommend this Tire Discounters shop at 1050 Gemini Place
