MnM Cincinnati Authentic Thai tasting food search. Our reviews of Cincinnati area Thai resturants or places that advertise Thai cusine is focused only on the taste of the food. Our credentials: Mark lived in Thailand for 10 years, 4 in the US Peace Corps. Mai is from Thailand & cooks amazing Thai food.

We were very excited to go to Apsara b/c the staff at Thai staff at Teak Thai House had informed us that Apsara had spicy papaya salad and cow neow (sticky rice) daily. They did have spicy papaya salad but it was served sweet, not spicy at all- despite our ordering it at level 10. And they did not have cow neow. Papaya salad w/o sticky rice is like haveing chips without salsa. The soups were nothing to rave about. They were okay but some were Thai & some Chinese. Apsara did a good Thai beef salad, especially as they dd not fusion it with somethig else. And this entree they got spicy as ordered. Overall, the atmosphere is very upscale- much more than Teak Thai House, but like Teak Thai House- WAY OVERPRISED. Apsara's fried rice dishes averaged $16 bucks a plate. We recommend you stick with Thai Express near UC where the same dish, better prepared is $6-7 bucks. While Apsara was nice, its really a fusion resturant so its difficult to compare it to other Thai resturants in Cincinnati. Apsara is the Khmer (Cambodian) word for Angel. And the many varried entree's they have are not meant to be traditional Thai cusine. In terms of taste, the Thai dishes were not overly salty. They got spicy right 1/3 dishes. They waiter really did not know Thai food but he did know the fusion entrees very well. If you are not looking to eat Thai food and like Asian fusion fare (so bland), save your money and give this place a try.
