I grew up in Richfield and have always been a fan of the Tavern of Richfield. It??s a great place to celebrate occasions and just take a night out of the kitchen! One of my close friends had her wedding reception here and also her baby shower, both with exceptional service and wonderful food!

Just the other day we finished the 100 mile Century ride for the Sweet Corn Challenge at 5:35 pm. We spent year training for the ride and when we came to the Finish, there was no finish sign! I couldn't even get a picture! Extremely disappointed about the sign we went to the Tavern to go have our dinner as stated in the brochure. The Chair people from the Challenge didn't want anything to do with us, let alone have any concern for me when they could clearly see that I had an injury from a fall I took while on the ride.

The Hostess, Dee, was a complete sweetheart and talked to the owner who gladly got us something for dinner as well as pack up something for my sister and her boyfriend who were turned away by the Chair people of the challenge from the Chamber of Commerce. One of the busboys saw my bashed up knee from my fall and brought me a first aid kit!

We were served dinner on the patio which was a great place to relax after such a long and challenging ride. We had big bowls of Penne pasta mixed with good portion of tomato sauce with slices of thin chicken topped with small pieces of curled Parmesan. We were also served a sweet yeast bread, corn on the cob and for dessert we had a plate of melons and pineapple. The owner Serena even came over to us to congratulate us on finishing the 100 mile ride and to apologize for the woman from the Chamber of Commerce to speaking to us so harshly. Serena said it was a pleasure to make dinner for us and that she hoped that dinner was one of the highlights of our day. And believe us, it was!

THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AND RECOMMEND THAT YOU TRY OUT THIS HISTORIC GEM IN THE CENTER OF RICHFIELD =)

in the fall of 2010, the ownership changed once again. Along with that change we thought the menu would change for the better. Did it? NO. Did it change at all? NO Do we think the new owner will put their own stamp on a menu? Doubt it. Why wouldn't you want to showcase your food and menu instead of a failed place from the previous owner. I won't eat there because there is nothing that makes me want to come back. I really wish they would change the menu to just plain old good food instead of overpriced items you don't even know what it is. Sure hope they change something other than the owners so we can come back and try it again.

Five of us had a wonderful evening Dec. 28, 2010. Service and food were great. We enjoyed meeting the new young owner. Our waitress has worked there for years and was a font of information and suggestions. The Tavern is still charming and warm...after all these years.

was there on 12/17/10 the place wasn't very busy and it still took a long time to get are food..for the price i would rather go somewhere else that knew how to prepare food the correct way.Don't know if they have a real chef or just some kids in the kitchen putting food on a plate..my advice just stay away, was there a few years ago,and it was much better it must have changed hands since i was there before.

We ate on the patio on Friday evening. The patio is very pretty, nicely landscaped, quiet and spacious. Our food was very good to good. I had the roasted beet & tomato soup for starters - amazing flavor. The rack of lamb was just right and the arugula-tomato-feta salad it was served on was interesting accompaniment. My husband had the potato crusted walleye - which he said was okay - not exciting. I think this restaurant is worth a try - certainly in Ohio - where summer is so short and there are so few restaurants with decent outdor dining - it is worth going for the patio alone. The patio would be a nice place for a large gathering/reunion/celebration in summer. I will definitely go back. Lovely location - and nice ride out in the "country".

I give it a 1 for charm and location. The food is almost inedible. They need a chef who cares. Mixed drink I had was also bad. All around poor dining experience. Unless you see an add for new menu/chef go to a fast food joint for a better meal. Sad really. I always try to support local restaurants.

I won a gift certificate from a local radio station for the Taverne of Richfield. We live about 30 minutes away and usually don't go that far for dinner. But it was well worth the drive. The service was great and the food was well priced and delicious. I will be going back again.

I attended a rehearsal dinner here recently and was very impressed. The Tavern is a huge old house. The atmosphere was charming and the food was wonderful. The serving staff was attentive and even helped with photographs. The restrooms were clean and the parking lot was well lighted and smooth. (See what us old people notice?)
