There is nothing about this company I would be proud of if I were to be an employee or the owner. The address on their sign is wrong, they didn't pick up the phone when we called, it says the business is closed when you search it on Google because they don't have their own website (it's 2012, come on). All these are facts, my opinion is that they are rude and couldn't be less understanding to someone's situation. I was with someone who got their car towed, so I don't have sour grapes about my car getting towed. They charge more than they are legally allowed to because most people don't know the law or they won't go through the hassle of suing.

You're in the business of towing, you obviously know how mad you make people. With this knowledge, go to work with a better attitude and show some decent people a little bit of respect or get another job.

This business is full of rude and inconsiderate people. I live in a apartment building that employs their services. I parked my rental car in the lot to unload my bags from a long trip. I'm the type that follows rules, and I know I needed a pass to park overnight, but my rent office was closed. They argued that I didnt have a pass, and the fact that I was unloading and checking mail didnt matter to them. I came back out to move the car and it was gone. There is nothing worst than feeling like your being robbed. This isn't an attack on tow truck drivers, I just don't understand the ethics of the towing companies in this city when it comes to the residents of these private lots, who are unable to get that parking pass. I was headed out to park it on the steet. I just felt that I practiced good Common since when I thought to unload all of luggage in the lot close to the elevator, not struggle to walk across a long lot by unloading from the street. Beside, I live in the building! at least give me a chance to move it.

It's not just that they're "doing their job", it's how they do it. I noticed a response earlier likely by someone that works there or knows someone who does, but the problem with Kenwood towing is they are predatory towing, solely. They are also careless and corrupt. Throughout my years in clifton several years ago, I dealt with tow truck drivers fairly frequently. Clifton has a notorious lack of parking and businesses are understandably territorial about their parking lots. That's fine if the tow truck drivers gave a crap about actually verifying the owner of said vehicle had been inside the establishment prior to towing their vehicle. In my case I was in the restroom after I had just ordered some food. I came out and my car was gone. The business was equally unsympathetic because "the guy came in here yellin" and I didn't hear him. Mind you, I'm a naive college kid at this point, and I knew little at the time what my rights were and what my options were for retirbution. I should have sued Kenwood towing to reclaim my 100+ fee they charged me to recover my car approximately 1 hour later even though I obeyed the signage. Beyond this particularly horrendous story singed in my brain, I have a couple other incidents exmeplifying how this company is ethically bankrupt and completely unprofessional. As many have posted on here, the tow truck drivers will "cut you a deal" and ask for straight up cash to get your car dropped if you catch them towing you. Of course, as a college kid thats been snagged, this amount will vary depending on what they think you have access to. Essentially it amounts to nothing more than a quick shake down and they do it over, and over again. It happened to me twice. None of this is an exaggeration FYI, I even had witnesses present to collaborate these few stories, so Kenwood, don't even both theatening me with libel. You run a shady business that operates on the edge of legally complaint and is completely void of any ethical qualms with your actions. The drivers you hire represent this attitude completely, money first, actions later. If Kenwood was a real towing company, this wouldn't be their primary business, and they wouldn't tow without thoroughly verifying a person presence on a premisis first. But they're not, and all they care about is snagging as many vehicles as they can day over day, right or wrong. Legal or illegal, it's still incredible sad that, after 11 years since I first encountered them, this place is still in business and its a testament to how bad businesses can continue to operate in this country because nobody has the means or the willpower to take them down.

To the people who don't understand why the world is the way it is ,People who own property don't want anyone who wants to, to just use it , too difficult to understand ,it is such a problem a law had to be written and enforcement procedures put in place ,the tow sign in the lot is not an invitation to park for a short time ,it is a warning that the owner of the lot has had enough of people trampling on their property rights,it is not meant to be a pleasant experience as far as the people being rude look what they have to deal with,as far as i didn,t see the sign goes by the time you get a driver license you know to look for signs you just parked and got caught in a tow lot of course they don't take checks that you could stop payment on or credit cards you can reverse charges on ,look at the attitude of the posts on here they refuse to take any responsibility for their actions these same people would have a cow if someone came to their neighbors house and parked in their yard

You need to get you're facts straight. That lot next to shell has nothing to do with shell. Nobody gets paid to tell Kenwood to tow a car. It's a patrol lot. You dumb ass college kids just need to pay attention. Stop blaming other people for your stupid mistakes.

Same. Parked in a lot that has been privatized next to shell in clifton. Was parked there for probably 15 minutes to get a subway inside the shell station. Came out with my sandwich to see my expensive ass car having its body kit being dragged off a curb and flying out into the road stuck to the back of some tow truck. I went into shell to tell them, and I was greeted by a shell employee who said they were the one who reported my vehicle. I asked why they would report my car being that they are a shell employee and have no point to report my car, especially since I am a PAYING CUSTOMER. They responded simply with, I am paid to report violators by kenwood towing. (this is racketeering) I have talked to other shell employees and have found out that there is some sort of romantic relationship between an employee and someone at the shell station.

You know I'm getting sick of people bad mouthing us towing companies and calling us sleazy. For one we are doing our jobs just like everyone else working that gas station or wal-mart or going to School. We work very hard out here. Like me I have a 9 yr. old boy and own a repo company. I run 18-20 hour shifts. Plus I work 7 day's a week 365 day's a year for police calls right through Christmas yes while you are opening gifts with family I'm out working with police and fire cleaning accidents so you can get to that gathering. While your sleeping at 3:30 am. I'm pulling your loved one out of a snow covered ditch so they can get home safely. So before you bad mouth us towers think before you speak. Private property impounding is totally up to the property owners not us. They tell us what they want us to do and how they want it done. The 108.00 is also the law in Ohio. We don't make that rule either. So before you bad mouth us think before you speak and check the facts first. Thank you for reading this and have a Blessed day!

Ok Im going to lay this out for everyone...
Check your O.R,C codes think its 45135.6 this is a law that states tow companies can do this off of private property. Tho Kenwood towing is a predatory towing company and that is against the law. Most tow companies in cincinnati do the same thing but impound under LLC names to save them trouble. My car was towed by them as well as you can see ive done my homework. During my own investigation I found Kenwood towing is owned by Trent and Sharon Rose yes they are married and both retired cincinnati POLICE OFFICERS imagine that. Also found the same at other local towing impounders.

i recently returned to cincinnati from school and parked in the parking lot by the shell on calhoun/mcmillan in clifton. i didn't realize that since i was last there the lot had been privatized and i could be towed. i didnt realize this because there was only one small sign at the back of the lot that you will not notice unless you are stopping to smell not only the roses but also all other flowers and the b.o. of the kenwood towing employee that just left. i called the company to ask if they had my car. while on the phone I watched a couple get out of their car, walk away, kenwood towing pull in not 2 minutes later and immediately hook up their car. the worker, who probably hadn't showered in a week, could tell i was obviously without a car and asked hey do you own car x. i said yes. he then proceeded to hit on me.

when picking up my i dealt with a totally different employee. i was told they needed a phone number. confused why they would need a phone number i inquired what for (first time my cars been towed, i dont know how things work). the response: if you want your car, i need your number. if that is actually standard procedure i totally understand, but the response i got didn't come off that way.

besides the other comments describing the company as rude, dishonest, and heatless i wanted to add threatening and uncomfortable to the mix.

I am a business owner and their signs are in our lots. Today WITHOUT our permission, they towed a car out of our lot! When I called to complain, the driver denied he was the one (even though he answered the phone, who cares if it was personally him, he answered the company contact number) then proceeded to cuss! Wow, very unprofessional!

This business is one of thieves. My car was legally parked and this company towed it anyway. They refused to let me see the car before I payed the bill. I was told to come back the next day and speak with management if I had a complaint. How convenient - for another $108 fee. They accept cash only - I would love to see their tax forms. Employees were uneducated, rude, aggressive, and down-right nasty. This business should be shut down. They should be charged with car theft.

I think it is lousy the way this company is paid by the business establishments serving the students -
preying on them mercilessly. Not only is the University of Cincinnati gouging the students and their parents so are these merchants. These establishments pay these Kenwood' Towing vultures to sit there watching and waiting for a one minute violations, etc. so they can extort hundreds more dollars out of these kids. It is a racket that needs to stop. It is virtually criminal and adds insult to injury to any parent/student lining the palms of the university and who patronize these businesses. The business district and the University need to come up with a better system and stop stepping on the backs and twisting the arms of their customers!

My daughter, a UC student who frequently shops at Stop N Go on McMillan, parked outside the store and as she was walking toward the door of the store, saw a friend in the yard next door and walked over for a minute to chat. She was no more than 20 feet from her car and was clearly on her way into the store. While she was standing there, this sleazy creep hooks her car up to his tow truck. When she protested, he said he would unhook it for $40 cash. Of course she didn't have that much cash so he towed it away. She had to walk home in the dark in an unsafe neighborhood, and all of her homework was in the car. The next day she tried to get her car and they said she would have to wait an hour, which she didn't have since she has classes. After class, she called again and arranged to meet the driver at the lot. He told her it would be $108. She had to withdraw money from the ATM and of course, had to get an even $20 so she had $120. He took it and refused to give her change. Said she'd have to come back tomorrow for change. Then, when she asked for his supervisor's name, he got in her face and started screaming at her. She is a petite 19-year old girl!!! What horrid people. I can believe every single comment made on this page, except for the one positive review. It is bound to be a fake. These guys are predators through and through and we all need to report them to the Better Business Bureau and tell every business that associates with them that we will not shop at their stores until they get rid of Kenwood Towing.

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ONE NIGHT AND PARKED ONTO A PRIVATE LOT (AUTOZONE) WHICH NORMALLY THE POLICE CANNOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE TOWED FROM A PRIVATE LOT BUT THIS PARTICULAR NIGHT, THEY HAD ALL THE VEHICLES TOWED BY KENWOOD TOWING ON SPRING GROVE. WHEN SHE WENT TO PICK THE VEHICLE UP THE TRUCK(SUV) HAD NOT BEEN BROKEN INTO BUT THE CD CHANGER WAS GONE!! RIPPED OUT IN TWO PLACES. WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE ITEMS MISSING, KENWOOD TOWNING TOLD HER THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND FEEL BECAUSE THEY HAVE A SIGN DISPLAYED, THEY ARE IN THE CLEAR. WHEN I CALLED THEM ABOUT THE MISSING CD CHANGER, I WAS TOLD THAT ANYBODY COULD HAVE BROKEN INTO THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF BREAK IN. MANY COMPANIES SUCH AS TOWING COMPANIES AND REPOSSESSION COMPANIES HAVE TOOLS THAT IS USED TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM VEHICLES AND CLAIM THEY HAVE NO WAY OF ENTERING THE VEHICLE WHICH IS NOT TRUE. KELLOGE TOWING REFUSE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS OR REIMBURSE FOR THESE DAMAGES TO MY VEHICLE CLAIMING THEY ARE NOT AT FAULT. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THIS COMPANY IS IN THE BUSINESS TO STEAL FROM THE CONSUMER THEN REFER THE CUSTOMER TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM. COULD THEY BE INTO FILING FALSE CLAIMS ALSO? NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU DID. THEY SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS

My girlfriend and I parked in the parking lot behind Arbys in Clifton and I put a quarter in the meter, which gives you half an hour and we went in to eat. We were in there no longer than 20 minutes and when we came out, my car was already gone. I went up to the meter and there was still seven minutes left. I called this company and they first told me I wasn't allowed to park there period, then when I told them I put money in the meter, they told me it was for people with a parking decal only. Then they changed the story to my meter was out of time, even though I watched it expire while I was on the phone arguing with them. He brought my car back to the parking lot across the street and charged me $96 dollars to get it back. There doesn't seem to be much the police can do, since it is a private lot, and when I called the tow company the next day to complain, they told me that there was nothing I could do about it, laughed at me, and then hung up on me. Something needs to be done about these people preying on the residents of Clifton. Armed robbery should not be legal just because you own a tow truck.

Pros: none

Cons: liars, thieves, con artists

Holding your property for payment when they have no legal right to it, is theft by extortion. You need to document their predatory behavior and follow-up if you are right. They have been sued almost 100 times in Hamilton County in the last few years. They have lost their Bet Bus Bur rating with 39 complaints in the last 36 months and they have had at least 11 complaints with the Ohio Attorney General. Don't be afraid to file a civil complaint if you are right and watch them squirm like they do their unsuspecting victims.

I agree with everyone else that wrote a review this year. Perhaps the company had different employees when the lady had her good experience last year. I thought it my duty to also review this b/c I do not want anyone decieved by the average 3.5 stars. I have now been 'ripped off' THREE times in the DuBois parking lot trying to catch a quick burrito at Chipotle. It's pretty bad when they sit there like sharks SO often that the pan-handlers out front are ALSO using their conning as a profit. The beggars out front run into Chipotle with the color and the make of the car that is being hiked up onto the truck, then ask for money because they have done a good deed telling you. It is so incredibly obvious that the money they request to unload your car goes straight into their pockets, depending on the number of personal bills that driver has for the week. One time it was $50, ,the other time it was $60 and once, maybe on a good week, it was $45. Either way, I put enough in the meter like the other reviewers and that didn't seem to matter. So, in a nutshell... Of the fifty other towing companies listed here... go with one of them!!

These guys are a total ripoff group. I'm sure they are incahoots with the owners of lenharts, dubois, and Dave Frisch, the owner of the meters behind arby's. They don't even wait till the meter is out many times. They just wait till a couple of minutes are left and then boom, off you go. Of course they offer to take it down for $45 to $50 , bet that goes right in their pocket. The fat slob guy is the worst but the skinny pony tale guy isn't any better. Boycott DuBois, Lenharts, and Arby's until they stop these con artists. Cincy cops can't help because the lots are private. Tell the owners of the stores above that you aren't coming anymore as long as they support these crooks.

nobody is safe in clifton with this tow company. It is a shame they will hunt and stalk you and watch where you park, it does'nt even matter if you pay a meter they will either hook onto you when you have 1 or two minutes left or watch you meter till it clicks out then bam hook you up scandelous. Sure they will let you down for 50.00 bucks. Crooks< TELL EVEYONE YOU KNOW TO NEVER USE KENWOOD TOWING. nothing but lowlife, CROOKS.

My friend called me frantic that her car has broken down, and would need a tow truck. She asked me to call some places, being she didnt have a lot of money on her. I called kenwood Tow becasue it was close to where she was stranded. The man who answered the phone never indentified himself or even kenwood towing he just said "what" I asked him what the rate to tow was. he asked me what kind of car, if it had front wheel or 4 wheel drive. it was like he was just making up prices. He told me it would be 50 bucks to hook it up then 3.25 for every mile. i asked him what if it was a four wheel drive car, and he said he would have a price upon pick...WHY WOULD YOU TRUST THAT????

I was coming home from visiting my goddaughter, who was in the hospital after having open heart surgery within a week of being born. Needless to say i was a little distressed. My fiancee and i went into chipotle to get a bite to eat. We parked pid the meter and ate. To my surprise when i came out to leave a tow truck was backing up to my car. I asked why and he said i didnt pay the meter. The fact was i accidentally paid the wrong one. I missed the sign that was 10 feet high that said pay the one to the left, maybe it was because it was raining. I talked to the driver (the most unpleasent man i ever met), and he said he didnt care about me or my situation, and it was not his problem that i didnt pay the right one because there is a sign. I had to run across the street to get 50 dollars in cash just to get him unhooked from the truck. I had never been more furious in my life. I will never use Kenwood towing, a company who obviously cares more about a few dollars than being good people. I will forever cringe at the sight of a tow teuck and remember the day i realized that people are not all inherently good, and that there are people who will do whatever it takes to make a buck. I just feel bad for the other people who will have to meet and or do business with this company who have obviously lost the basic moral code that a civilized society prides itself on.

I am a homeowner in University Heights- and a woman locked her keys in her SUV while motor running-within the past 1/2 hour in front of our home! She knocked on our door to help her- request for a screwdriver & a wire hanger. None would work- Cincinnati Police would not help- This woman was very
much destressed until we saw Kenwood Towing coming down the street- We flagged him down- He stopped & quoted her a price to unlock her door. She had no money! He seemed to leave- but turned around and came back! What a great experience to see- Humanity & kindness!! If I ever need a towing company, I will definately call Kenwood Towing! Really nice people & a company that obviously has heart!
In these strange times- it is rare to see! P.S. Thank you it was nice to see such kindness! Happy Holidays!!
