I recently moved to Cape Coral from Miami where the restaurant selections are endless. Although I have not visited many restaurants here, I have found Fisherman's Catch to be friendly and great food. I have visited on the weekend and was greeted by the owner herself. Maybe this is the norm here but it was a first for me. Rosy, the owner, was friendly and a breath of fresh air. The food was prepared rather quickly and was great. I had the Snapper Mediterranean with steamed vegetables and my husband had the Churraso with black beans and rice. Both dishes were delicious and even forced some room for flan dessert. This place is great although a little hard to find. I hate to advertise somebody else's restaurant but its located across from Mels diner on Pine Island road. There is patio seating with music playing in the background. It's lovely to sit outside in the early evening to enjoy the weather & music. If you go ask for the owner, she is great.

You might miss this excellent seafood restaurant and market when you drive past, but that would be a shame. It's located in a strip mall on Pine Island Road, less than half a mile west of Del Prado Blvd., across from Mel's Diner.

The food is very good, and is prepared by a chef who just looks like he knows what he's doing (he prepares the meals behind a counter where diners can watch).

I've only been there for lunch, but I can testify that the grouper sandwich is delicious and the Shrimp Creole is excellent (I recommend that you mix the rice with the shrimp, which come separately, but are meant to be mixed). This is not your basic "everything on the menu is fried" seafood restaurant.

Also, don't miss the pineapple or coconut sorbets for dessert, which come in the actual hollowed out fruit from which they were derived.

Prices are what you would expect, not too high. But if you want to splurge, there is even Grilled Lobster and Surf & Turf on the menu (each under $20 last time I looked).

The decor is nice, but it is in a strip mall and it's not a place you would get dressed up for. There is patio seating outside for the cooler months.

Most important is that the hostess and chef are warm and friendly people. I can't wait to go there for dinner, and I'm writing this review so a good thing doesn't go unnoticed (or out of business).
