AVOID THIS DEALER/SHOP BY ALL MEANS
I purchased a Piaggio Fly 150 on August 8, 2012 brand new from an authorized Piaggio dealer (Vespa Brooklyn). The bike worked normally up until mid-May when it began stalling while the bike was in motion. I took it to the dealer (also an authorized service center) as the bike is still under warranty. They told me it was a loose air filter, charged me upwards of $100 and I was on my way. It was only a day or two before the bike again began stalling. This time the bike had to be towed. The bike was at the shop a week and they couldn't find an issue with the bike. This has happened three more times so that the total of times the bike has been returned for the issue is five. After the second time it visited the shop I called Piaggio customer care. They informed me that they would get their tech people involved to troubleshoot the issue. These specialist were brought in to no avail. The bike is still under warranty but is neither safe to drive nor can it be counted on in any way. Piaggio is insisting that nothing is wrong with the bike. Yet I haven't driven it more than 50 miles since the first May 28 dropoff to the shop and the bike has stalled over five times (while in motion). Piaggio nor Vespa Brooklyn have offered to give me a working bike, or a refund.
I have never had such an unprofessional experience with a vendor/manufacurer in my life!

Scooters are not covered in NY by lemon laws.

thanks in advance

Just wanted to day how happy I am with Vespa Brooklyn...after getting the shaft for years from Queens and SoHo these guys really stepped up to help me get back and stay on the road. I like there tell-it-like-it-is policy and glad I took their advice on the repairs I needed. Great location and layout. Great people and the Manhattan pick-up service is a life saver. Highly Recommended. Thanks again guys.

Disrespectful. They act like they dont need their business so dont give it to them. I told them i was riding a bike to them on the following saturday, i get there and they closed early. I'm not riding the bike because its leaking oil, but now i had to ride it home to coney island which i already felt was risky and now i wouldnt be able to get the bike to them before christmas new years. but the owner Andrew wouldn't even admit that they closed early. If a mechanic is going to tell me i'm lying and essentially lie to me before he's even giving me an estimate, how can i trust him to give me an honest repair. Vehicle repair is a trust industry. and i've seen other comments elsewhere that they pad the bill, so i felt i wouldnt be able to trust the estimate or the work.

I say, go to Scooter Bottega, which i normally do and will be doing now. only reason i was going to go here was because Scooter Bottega was closed for the holiday. but never again. I've also heard better things about Vespa Queens but i havent been there myself.

Shady service dept. Don't go there, go to Vespa Queens. I'm saying this after going 3 times to Vespa Brooklyn, and also as a resident who lives within 10 blocks. I would rather go to Queens for anything rather than return to this shady, nickle-and-dime-you joint.
