My very bright and academic daughter was told by a counselor at this practice, that the reason others lacked knowledge and interest in the things my daughter found to be important, was due to the fact that others had a life. When my daughter referred to Schopenhauer's theory of pessimism, the counselor had no idea what my daughter was talking about. Even after she explained that there was a vast difference between a pessimistic disposition and the theory of pessimism, the counselor didn't understand and responded by making a negative statement about one of my daughter's highly regarded instructors who had suggested it would be a good theory for her to follow. Evidently this counselor had "a life", which prevented her from being familiar with one of the best known philosopher's of the 19th century. One session made it clear that this is not the type "therapy" we were looking for.

Apparently Cindy is confusing our practice with some other practice in the area. None of our psychologists ( we do not have any counselors on our staff but there are a few in the neighborhood) recall having any such therapy session. We also tried to contact the reviewer informing her of the misunderstanding but she never responded back. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
