Very Happy

by Margaret F.

Very happy with this doctor and staff. I felt like he actually read all of my chart and records. He thought it all through and discussed my options. Dr. Isaacs gave me his opinions and recommendations. I recommend him to anyone. I was grateful to find someone that is well educated and focused on the patient.

Great Weight Loss Program

by Cathy M.

I highly recommend the weight loss program at Intelligent Health Center. I have lost over 60 pounds in 6 months and am still losing. I feel better than ever. The HMR diet is very easy to follow. There are prepackaged meals and shakes, but they taste pretty good. And they work. The entire staff has been so helpful and supportive.

Dr. Isaacs saved my life!

by Melinda F.

Dr. Isaacs was the one doctor who did not dismiss me as a fat, crazy woman. He diagnosed me with Cushing's disease, a rare condition caused by a pituitary tumor. (I saw 12 other doctors in two states before him!) It turned out that I needed brain surgery and radiation. Dr. Isaacs now helps me manage my diabetes and thyroid disease. Unlike most doctors, he is not condescending; he actually listens to patients and does not rush through exams. He and his staff are good about returning phone calls.

Detail oriented, superb physician

by Michelle G.

On my first visit Isaacs met with me for over an hour. I was amazed that a doctor would take that much time with his patients. He is a brilliant man. He listed all of my questions and concerns. After the first appointment, he followed up with a detailed letter outlining my test results and treatment plan. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Isaacs.

OK program

by Casey C.

I gave it a go at Intelligent Health Center. Although the staff was great, I felt like the program was too costly for my budget, since my insurance didn't cover the costs. I decided to find a way to lose the weight on my own and have been doing pretty good so far. I wish all my former classmates at Intelligent Health Center the best. I just think the program isn't for everyone.

Superb medical care

by Marissa V.

I saw Dr. Scott Isaacs interviewed on CNN Headline News. He was talking about how some people who can't lose weight have subtle hormone problems that can be missed by standard hormone tests. I scheduled an appointment and had a hormone evaluation. Although all my labs came back in the normal range, Dr. Isaacs felt that I did indeed have a hormone problem know as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). He patiently explained my condition and treatment options. We agreed to try medications and after difficult start, I finally saw some results. My periods are regular for the first time in my life and I no longer need to pluck hairs from my chin. And best of all, I have lost weight. Dr. Isaacs was so helpful, not only diagnosing the PCOS, but explaining that I had options in how it was treated. What a pleasant surprise to actually be involved in my own medical care.

Agree with other reviewers

by HltG9

I can't really say it any better than the other reviewers. I find all those comments to be true. I had another Endocrinologist for two years and he never came close to treating my diabetes properly. I went to Dr. Isaacs and my diabetes was under control in 3 months! That's been almost a three years and I'm still doing great.

Pros: Dr. Isaacs and the office staff.

Cons: 2 week wait to get an appointment

Lost weight and saved money!

by CMO

I found the HMR program to be extremely effective. I had tried several other weight loss programs, but never had much success. HMR is definitely different. The program uses meal replacements, mostly shakes and boxed meals, but it is more than just food. You come to a class every week and you work with a health educator very closely. My health educator, Liz is a registered dietitian. She has been so helpful to me, we talk at least three times a week. Liz takes a real interest in my success. Dr. Isaacs has also been terrific. I lost 48 pounds in about 4 months and I am still losing. I found the program to be very affordable. The food costs about $80 every week, but I was spending much more before I started the program. My health is improved and I feel so much better.

Pros: It works!

Waste!

by ingridn12

It's a shame I wasted so much time and money with this program. It was recommended to me by a friend, but my personal experience was very negative. I felt like I was weighed in and pushed around like cattle. The staff was friendly, but the HMR program is archaic.

Dr. Isaacs is personable and professional. He takes the time to really listen to your problems. His office staff is very friendly and helpful as well. I wanted to see Dr. Isaacs because he specializes in hormones and obesity. He helped get my hormones balanced and my weight back down.

Atlanta is very fortunate

by zahnk23

Dr. Scott Isaacs is one of the leading endocrinology/obesity experts in the country. He is very up to date with new treatments and technology and does research on obesity and metabolism. It took a few weeks for me to get an appointment but it was well worth the wait. He's legitimately interested in helping to improve the lives of his patients.

Excellent Weight Loss Program

by wmfatlanta4

Intelligent Health Center is by far the best HMR weight loss program in Atlanta. The weight loss program is sensible and it works. The HMR program is a national program done in doctor's offices all over the country, and Intelligent Health Center really does it right. You come to a class once a week but have a lot more support if you need it. The health educators are helpful, compassionate and very knowledgeable. The doctors and nurses are excellent as well. It is really hard losing weight, but Intelligent Health Center makes it as easy as possible. All my medical conditions have improved as a result of my weight loss and I have stopped taking all medications. My husband also did the HMR program and he was very happy with his weight loss as well. We are both keeping off all the weight we lost but we know that this will be a lifelong challenge.

Pros: Easy Way to Lose Weight

Cons: None

Gold Star Program

by bethlarker

HMR (Health Management Resorces) is a terrific program. I've recommended it to several of my friends and clients all of whom have had great success. I've heard nothing but great things from them about this program.

Pros: Health educators, doctors and nurses

Recommended by my doctor

by js8844

My doctor referred me to the HMR program after doing the program herself. How can you ask for a better recommendation than that? I started on HMR 7 weeks ago and have already lost 31 pounds. There are several others in my class who have lost even more. I've made friends in my class and as we go through this weight loss journey together, I have even more support. The diet is mostly shakes and prepacked entrees, but there are other foods you can eat as well. There is also a version of the diet that adds fruits and vegetables to the HMR foods. I can't say enough nice things about the health educators and the rest of the staff.

Pros: It really works!

Outstanding Weight Loss Program--Health Management Resources

by brbk

I lost 104 pounds with the HMR program at Intelligent Health Center. The staff (especially the doctors and nurses) were very nice and extremely supportive. I had not been able to lose very much weight on other diets, but Dr. I found out that I had a thyroid problem that was missed by other doctors. He is also treating me for insulin resistance. I have found the program to be so effective because they do a complete evaluation to look for underlying hormonal problems that make weight loss difficult. Once my problems were treated, it was so much easier to lose weight. If you are having a hard time losing weight, you shoud get your hormones checked as this may be the reason. Dr. I is a board certified endocrinologist and president of the American Association for Clinical Endocrinologists. I know that it will take hard work to keep off my weight, but they have a maintenance program that helps.

Pros: Lost over 100 pounds. Very friendly staff, doctors and nurses.

Cons: Only one location. Not enough daytime classes.

Keeping off 84 pounds! Success!

by samar2008

I was referred to Intelligent Health Center and HMR by my doctor. I had struggled with my weight my entire life and have tried every diet under the sun. You could even say I am sort of a weight loss expert. In addition to the Atkins diet, South Beach Diet and others, I?ve tried weight watchers, nutri-system, Jenny Craig and Quick Weight Loss and others as well. Yes, I lost weight on every one of these diets, but quickly gained it all back?every time. I am so happy I finally found HMR. The staff was extremely helpful and supportive. Dr. Isaacs was very caring and helped manage my medical concerns along with the weight loss. Dr. Isaacs has also written several books on weight loss. I started off on the low calorie diet, which uses all HMR products, but then moved to the healthy solutions diet, which lets you eat fruits and vegetables as well. I lost 84 pounds in 20 weeks and have kept it off for almost a year now. But even better, I am off my highblood pressure and cholesterol medications. I have never felt better! I highly recommend this program.

Pros: Great doctor, very nice

Cons: None
