Yesterday my daughter purchased HER perfect wedding gown at Kate's Kouture. We recently started looking at bridal gowns for a 2010 fall wedding and have visited several different establishments, and read probably hundreds of reviews on line between my web surfing and my daughter's. Based on her good reviews, and since I live nearby, we decided to add Kate's to our list.

What a delightful person! She is soooooo helpful and her shop includes an interesting selection of gowns based on her own impeccable taste as well as her desire to offer enough variety to satisfy a range of customers. Kate is very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. She will listen closely if you have strong preferences, or alternately help you to discover what works for you. She will tell you when a gown is not the most flattering, as well as reassure you when you find that wonderful dress that is "the one." We found THAT dress: the one that makes you look unbelievably good. Kate will reassure you (if you are a bit shy or indecisive) and encourage you to BELIEVE it when you actually do look that good, yet never gives you the strong sales pitch treatment.

My daughter is very athletic and is fortunate enough to have a body type that looks good in a variety of dresses. This is lucky, and she has worked hard for her body, but that also makes it hard to narrow down your choices. Kate is very attentive in every way, and could see on my daughter's face when she found the dress she truly loved amidst a group of several stunning gowns she tried on, but she never pressured us or rushed us. My daughter tried on three of the gowns multiple times and still could not decide. Finally after a delightful full 90 minutes of her personal attention, Kate graciously offered to let us sleep on it and to hold the dress until the next day.

When we returned, she said she was not surprised to get our message that we would be coming back to buy the Maggie Sottero dress on hold for us. She knew even if we didn't! We were also excited to hear that she offers a 10% discount on any further wedding related purchases (veils, accessories, bridesmaids dresses, etc) once you have purchased your gown at Kate's Kouture. She impressed me, the bride-to-be, and her sister the MOH, very favorably, and treated us ALL so that we felt as if we her welcome guests more than as if we were just her customers. We liked her a lot and also felt the feeling was mutual.

What more can I say...Don't be dismayed by her petite-sized shop. She makes the most of her space and has an impressive selection. You get the kind of priceless personal service that makes you comfortable that she has your needs first and foremost, but most of her dresses fall into the very affordable well under $2,000 range. So if you are a "beer budget/ champagne taste" type you will be very happy.

Kate also has an outstanding understanding of different body types, different tastes, and different budgets (we had a long discussion!). I suspect she could probably accommodate from size 0 through 28 and everything in between, but she actually stocks wedding sizes 6-20 and has a full understanding of the requirements of women's different bodies. I plan to return and see what she has for the mother-of-the-bride (who no longer has the perfect body!). Maybe Kate can work her magic on me too (chuckle).

Let's face it. These dresses are a major purchase for most of us, but after Kate gives you her million dollar treatment, you will feel you have your own dedicated personal shopper who is worth every penny you have spent. Check her out. You will NOT regret it.
