Energywise Windows and Doors

Greg and his crew installed new windows and a new front door on my house in March. First, he was easy to work with and on time.I have been waiting to post a review to see how the quality would hold up. I have been getting compliments from everyone who has seen the windows. As for the workmanship, I have been very satisfied with the performance over this extremely hot summer. I am going to hire him again next spring for more windows and another door job.

I have been meaning to write this review for several months now but it took awhile for me to find the name through citysearch. This is a great business with great service and a beautiful quality product. The owner and all of his staff are fantastic at what they do and are enjoyable to work with and have such a nice work ethic. They are patient, professional and do such beautiful well crafted work on everything they do. We look forward to having them replace the last few windows and doors. This business definitely believes in quality all the way around with service, integrity and beautiful products. It is nice to still have businesses around that believe in establishing good relationships with their clients. I highly recommend this business, the staff, and the products they have available. I recommend Greg to anyone and everyone who asks. He has great energy, good taste, and overall just a great person to work with. He and all of his staff are so trustworthy, hard working, and are really dedicated to doing an excellent job. My neighbors all noticed the new beautiful window in front of the house and it helped so much with the noise level and is just so pleasant to drive up and see. I am really proud and happy with the work that was done and the improvements Greg and his team helped to make for my home.

I bought my windows hoping to 'quiet' my neighbors' dogs; these windows have changed my quality of life. What was a constant irritation is now just a minor bother rarely noticed. And I'm saving on my electric bill.

Service was great. Windows showed up on time, Greg showed up on time to install them, and installed them in less time than expected.

Great all around experience.

With the crazy heat this summer, I knew it was finally time to upgrade my windows with ones that were energy efficient. I've had them in two days, and already there's a huge difference in how much cooler my upstairs bedrooms are! Greg and his team were super nice and great to work with. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone -and when I need to replace my siding- I'll be calling Greg!

I've been contemplating replacing my windows for years and finally went with Greg and EnergyWise Windows after a great reference from a friend.

Greg showed me his product and was patient with all my questions. I never felt pressured and he made it easy for me to decide what would work best in my home.

Ordering was easy, and he called the day the windows came in to schedule installation.

He thought it would take 2 days and it only took one! When he arrived, his team immediately started to work and before I knew it, three windows were already installed! They were THAT fast and efficient.

Greg's personality is a major plus. He is "super friendly" and enjoys what he's doing. And talk about "energy"... He works non-stop and moves around with purpose. I don't think anyone on his team took a bathroom break or lunch that day.

We plan on replacing our front door and will call him to do the work. He's THAT good and trustworthy.

I needed some carpentry work and gave me a good reference on a guy that came in right away and fixed some bad boards on our home.

Greg is a pleasure to work with. I got a fair price and quality install. I will be recommending him to everyone I know.

I expect my electric bill to be lower for sure! There is already a noticeable difference in how cool the house feels. And it's so much quieter.

Having other bids made us dread the big "sales pitch", no such thing with Greg. He was low key, personable and a pleasure to talk with. The owner being in on the installation was so great, and not only were they here exactly when they said, they were fast and cleaned up amazingly well!! I would recommend this company to anyone needing energy effecient, beautiful windows!!

The things I value highly in any contractor I work with are reliability, honesty, and expertise. Greg and his team exceed all expectations one can have for a contractor in these areas. I am so happy with my new windows! I have spent the last year with windows that rattle when someone sneezes a mile away, as well as hearing every car door slam, voice on the street and dog bark within 3 blocks...not any more!! Greg and his extremely professional team installed my windows yesterday and I don't even know the outside world exists anymore. When Greg came out to give me a quote, he impressed me with his knowledge and courtesy-- I am not the "handy" type and was coming into this with little experience in this kind of window shopping!! He answered all 5 million of my questions and helped me to understand my choices and what they would mean for the look of my house, my energy bills and my outside noise levels. The decision to go with Energy Wise was easy and I am more than happy with that choice. I stand by Greg's work and would happily recommend his services to family and friends.

Greg is extremely easy to work with and very friendly. His crew worked quickly and professionally and replaced all our windows in just under two working days (two-story house). There were a few minor problems which he readily fixed after we notified him. The windows are high-quality and attractive, and already we notice less outside noise. (We haven't had enough time to review energy savings.) Greg's price was fair, and he responded to all our questions and concerns. The total experience was outstanding, and we highly recommend him and his company.

Quality product, expert installation, fair price, and above all, great service! We had a few bids to replace all the doors and windows in our house, but we decided to go with Energywise immediately after Greg Ginther's pitch. He gave us a great bid, and we just liked the guy. He brought a variety of window samples, educated us on the differences, and was not 'salesman-y' at all, in fact, he recommended ways to keep the costs down and still get quality. He also suggested ways to take advantage of Austin's energy rebate program. The installation was seamless, his team professional, meticulous and tidy - and we got exactly what we wanted. What a difference our beautiful new windows and doors make to the appearance of our house! I know they'll keep our energy costs down this winter too.

Greg Ginther and his Energywise team provided exactly what I was looking for.... quality product and workmanship from an honest crew in a timely manner for a fair price. I found Greg through the City of Austin Energy website, as I was looking for a company that could help me with the energy rebates. Greg provided all the paperwork I needed to receive the rebate, helped me fill it out and even mailed it in for me. Prior to meeting with Greg I was very frustrated, because I had received six bids but did not feel comfortable using any of them. I was impressed that Greg actually worked with his team on the installation and they all were very respectful, friendly and they cleaned up after themselves. The job was completed in one day as Greg had indicated. The Don Young windows are a great product and Greg's bid was half the price of one of my bids on a lower quality window. Greg displayed great integrity when he noticed a screen had been delivered with a small tear and so he notified me and had a new one delivered. The new windows look great and I love their functionality! I could not have asked for a better experience!

Although I usually dread getting bids, working with Greg was a pleasure. He was friendly, prompt, and very professional. He followed through with everything he said he would do and by when, and to top it all off he put together a snazzy folder to keep all of our paperwork organized. I have dealt with a fair amount of contractors and none have been as personable, straightforward and honest as Greg Ginther. I already knew the product I wanted, Don Young Windows - superior quality, energy efficient windows, and it was the Don Young company that gave me the Energywise number along with a couple of others. I had them all come out to give bids and it was Greg that impressed me most - mainly because he was a refreshingly friendly guy who was actually going to do the work himself, in addition to being the most affordable. I had planned to replace 3 windows, but through the City of Austin Energy Loan Program, I was able to replace all 15 windows. Greg and his 4 hardworking guys did the job in a day and half with little impact to my daily routine. They paid attention to details and cleaned up after themselves throughout the installation. I'm so glad to be rid of my 1951 leaky wood windows and now I can replace my sun damaged furniture. Thanks Greg!!!

My experience with Energywise Windows was extremely positive from start to finish. Greg was friendly and professional and did everything he said he would do. He was prompt in responding, came out with references, showed me the options, and followed up on every detail of the installation. All the workers were polite and they cleaned up as if they were working on their own house. Greg provided the old fashion kind of customer service that you don't always see anymore with some companies. I would recommend this company to anyone!

Greg and the Energywise team recently replaced all of the windows in our home. Not only do they look great, we already can tell a difference in our energy usage. The team did great work. Upon completion of the job, Greg personally checked each window to ensure top quality work. They even made sure that all of the trash was cleaned up and vacuumed the carpet! I cannot say enough about Greg and his team ... I will try.
I only had enough $ to consider the best solution for my financial benefits to upgrade my home to be energy efficient ... the energy crisis, how cute my house looks and possible resale value ... and there were many (my house is slowly falling apart). However ... Greg came to my home and walked me thru the facts & what they could offer. I did my homework (3 quotes) and decided the best for MY financial situation (and my FUTURE financial situation) was the most energy efficient long term solution ... my windows and doors. I really wanted to paint my house and get a cute tin-roof (just sayin). But ... alas ... the $ investment was clear. Windows and doors became my priority. I haven't gotten my new electricity bill yet but I feel confident my future bills will be reasonable (as resonable as we can be-btw I've changed to wind ... just sayin). ... Greg and his team were proficient, expedient, polite and so understanding of someone investing $ to make a difference, that I could not resist. He's proud to offer local window makers which pleased me to no end. He continuiously offered solutions to the installation of a historical area home that amazed me. He reused old wood from my original window frames that kept the integrity of my home and neighborhood. Who does that? I mean really? Who does that?
I recommend Energywise in a flash! I hope I have offered enough info to convince you to call for a quote and perhaps a relationship with Energywise (like I have) because I totally believe that they believe. And they will be there for me should I ever have any future energy issues .... EVER!

Greg Ginther was recommended to me and it is my joy to pass my recommendation on to those of you researching for new windows/doors. Greg and his crew arrived EARLY..please note that Greg, the OWNER was part of the installation crew! When was the last time that was part of a sales agreement? On time and on site: that's dedication and attention to detail.
Not only were my windows installed professionally, my furniture, floors and sills were vacumed, cleaned, and all the old windows and trash taken away. Greg even reinstalled some exterior window framing from another home improvement project.
During installation two things were immediately apparent. My windows appeared LARGER having the energywise windows rather than the old aluminum with their crossbars. Secondly, the QUIET.... I no longer hear the AC, street noise, and will not be disturbed by the train whistles ever again.
Greg took care of all the Tax rebate issues and I felt that was wonderful customer service.

We received 4 quotes to replace the windows in our 1300 sq. ft. home in South Austin. Greg's quote not only beat all others, it saved us several thousand dollars. However, that was only the beginning of a great experience. Greg's professional nature and commitment to make sure we were satisfied is rare these days. Additionally, he handled our cats, furniture, and blinds like they were his own. I highly recommend Energywise Windows & Doors to anyone!

The service was awesome from the time of the estimate to the actual installation. He was thorough in explaining my choices, the energy efficiency of the windows, and the value and quality of the windows. I got estimates from other companies who were going to charge nearly the same price for a lesser quality window. He kept me updated from the time I ordered them until they came in and hooked me up with rebates from the city. The crew came and installed them all in one day, cleaned everything up and made sure they were sealed and even cleaned them up better than a maid would have. I am sooo pleased and all my neighbors have been slowing down to check them out! I would totally reccommend this company to any one that wants to get their windows replaced and or help increase the energy efficiency of their home.

The service was easy and efficient. Came out and gave us a quote, great price. The windows were ordered, delivered and installed on time. Not only does it make the house look great we also realized a lower electric bill the first month. I would recomend Energywise Windows to everyone who cares about the environment and the electric bill!!!

I'm no expert on windows and home repair: I just know what works and what I like. I did a bit of homework on the subject of window replacement vs repair vs storm window options and looked at several home improvement centers. They were more expensive than Energywise and it would have taken longer to get them installed. I've been very unhappy with the windows in my condo: they're noisey, old, and leaky (just like some people I know). I should have contacted Greg at Energywise months ago. Anyway, the storm windows and storm door installed by Greg are awesome! Greg is friendly and kind and very professional. In short, Greg gets the concept of sales and customer service. I am extremely happy with EnergyWise Windows and Greg and you will be also!

Greg recently installed storm windows and solar screens on my late 1940s house. I couldn't be happier with the result. The windows protect the environment by lowering my energy consumption, lower my energy bill, make it harder to break into my house, allow me to keep my cool original windows, protect the original windows from the elements, are made locally (in the USA!), and give the house a neater, more finished look. Best of all, they have greatly reduced outside noise. (I live near the freeway.) Greg is prompt and professional, and his prices are fair. I highly recommend his services.

i had gotten an estimate for replacement windows, but thought it was probably best to check with at least one other company before committing to anything and i'm extremely glad that i did. greg came in with a quote that was literally over a thousand dollars less for the exact same windows. not to mention, he never made me feel pressured and he went out of his way to be available when it was convenient for me. i would highly recommend energywise windows and will definitely be contacting greg again in the near future to see about replacing this old sliding-glass door.

The name really says a lot. It is a very wise choice to have energy efficient windows, not only for bills but also to keep the place you live in nice and cozy. I like Energywise, in particular because the service is a lot more personal than some other larger operations. I never felt pandered to and the work was done in a timely manner with on par quality , and better than the work Ive seen done by said other operations. Not to mention that if you are only concerned with the bottom line here it is:

The price with Energywise was hundreds of dollars less expensive per window than competitors.

I was primarily looking at windows to reduce the noise in my street-facing room, and spoke to several suppliers. Greg was discussing this with me and came up with a less expensive solution for this, which was to install storm windows. He really is a very nice, honest guy, who cares about building green, and the windows that he buys are made in Texas. He kept me updated about when the windows would arrive, and did a great job installing them. I would highly recommend him to any of my friends.

We have a very old house (built in 1937). We have been worried about the energy efficiency of the house. While we wanted to have better windows, we did not want to lose the feeling of the old antique feeling given by the old windows. Fortunately, Energywise was installing new windows to our neighbors, we consulted about our problem and not only we got excellent sugestion but superb service and price.
We have now storm windows which blend into the house style and make the house more energy efficient. The electrical bill has been showing it.

I was in the market for some new windows and I shopped around and came across Energywise Windows. They beat everyone's prices and I couldn't ask for better customer service. They set a date to come out for my free estimate and they were prompt and on time and the day of installation went smooth as clock work. Love my new windows and I would recommend this company to anyone that is in the market for new windows. Not only are the windows beautiful but they are really saving me money in the longrun. Let me start off by saying "Remarkable Job". This was the first time I've ever allowed anyone else to work on my house. It's Very old and updated with many years of hard work, done by me. Well, ENERGY WISE came highly recommended, on a job I knew was out of my range. My call was returned right away w/ estimates and full product knowledge. The crew was professional and did the job w/in the time frame discussed. I'm a local Business Owner and truly believe, WORD OF MOUTH IS THE WAY TO GO!!!

I compared the windows found at Lowes and Home Depot. They weren't anywhere near as great of quality as the windows sold and installed by Energywise Windows
The customer service was excellent, the job was done well. I would recommend Energywise to all my friends and family. I have noticed a big change in my utility bills already.
Try them out. You will love them too.

My home is almost 50 years old and the windows had never been replaced, i.e. leaky and completely inefficient. I was looking for quality windows, but also for quality service and a competitive price. I believe that I found all three in Greg Ginther and Energywise. I've been slowly remodeling my home, and Greg is, to date, one of the easiest contractors that I have worked with. He and his install crew were both punctual and professional. They swapped out seven windows for me in just under 4 hours, and when they were finished they made a thorough check for cleanliness of the job site and for my overall satisfaction. These guys are good! Don't waste your time looking for anybody else...these guys are all you need.

I really liked the guy. He did what he said he would do and did it on time. His price was Thousands less than some of the other companies (I won't mention who). I don't need any bad Karma. He has two different brands to choose from and I picked the Don Young Texas brand windows. I like to buy local. I do have a big house with lots of windows but I imagine that even if you have a smaller home you could save a few hundred. I have never written a review but he said he just got this City Search up and running and would I please. I said "no problem". I got the feeling he was really fair and not out to gouge me so I really recomend Energywise for anyone considering new windows.
