A friend who works in the Fininacial District recommended this italian spot. even though it's on broadway, it's sort of hidden...towards the back of a main building, but it's huge inside! it was really nice and the crew i was with had a good time. food was great and drinks were awesome. i too recommend this place

Pros: huge - hidden (sort of fun)

Cons: far from where i live

My husband and I love Papoo's, despite the 80's music & dated decor. The restaurant was displaced from its original location next to the World Trade Center and Nick continues to make mouth-watering, fresh Italian fare. We're always made to feel at home and the food portions are so large that we usually take some home for later. There's plenty of space for large groups or private functions, and the after-work bar scene is usually lively (sports on the televisions, loud music). There is occasionally jazz night, which we look forward to attending.

Pros: Super-fresh food, extremely hospitable proprietor

Pappoo's is a wonderful Italian restaurant that has never failed to serve up great Italian food with excellent service. They were a classic lunch favorite on Greenwich Street of those of us who worked in the World Trade Center and we are all happy to see them at their "new" location with the excellent bar, and with the same great food and service. I have taken countless business lunches and dinners here without ever being disappointed. Eat At Pappoos ! You will not be sorry.

Pros: Great food, service and atmosphere, a downtown Wall Street institution

Cons: Its a bit hidden away up an escallator off broadway

This was without doubt one of the worst restaurants that I have eaten at in years. The food tasted as if it had been taken out of a can in the pantry and warmed in a microwave. Music was blaring. The service was attrocious. If you want to overpay for bad service and a horrible evening, this place is for you!

Pros: None

Papoo's is absolutely fabulous. The food, mamma mia! It's as if there was a little Italian grandmother cooking in the kitchen! In fact, Grandma rose's ravioli is absolutely delicious. Everything we had was top notch - from the delicately fried, and oh so soft calamari, the ravioli, the chilean seabass oreganata and veal marsala. If you live or work in the neighborhood you have to go for a meal immediately. If you don't, its worth the trip downtown, I promise!

waitress brought different food.
I ordered medium rare shell stake but came weldone.
Chef cooked again but charged $35.00 for one stake.
Chef told us to bring free desart but charged.
Tast soso and not organized service.
I can not understand why this restaurant can exist this location.

It was so great to find Papoo's again. We used to go to your restaurant at the old location. Your new place is bigger and better, and the food is even more incredible than I remember. You serve the best calamari I have ever had, and the Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce is out of this world.

The service was attentive, and I love being treated like family. Everything was delicious, I felt like my grandmother was in the kitchen cooking.

Recently had a wonderful dining experience at Papoo's. The staff was extremenly attentive. The food (Italian) was delicious and unpretentious. My shrimp parmigana with pasta was scrumptious. Papoo's is a hidden jewel in downtown Manhattan.

Before I went to lunch here I checked out citysearch to read the reviews, and was surprised to find only one. Once I arrived, I understood why. The restaurant was pretty much empty except for a few business lunchers. The service was surly and our waiter consistently mispronounced menu items. The decor looked like something straight out of the Holiday Inn and like the menu, desperately needs updating. For the quality, the place is also massively overpriced. All in all, despite the dearth of good financial district dining options, I would definitely skip this one.
