I just moved to MA and needed a new stylist. I came across James Joseph Studio one day after the gym and booked a color and cut with Rebecca. She was wonderful and very informative. When entering, staff was very friendly and inviting and the atmosphere was also relaxing. The receptionist took great care of me and made me comfortable while I waited to see Rebecca. I was very hesitant on what to do with my cut and color but I trusted her judgement and left it in her hands. She did an amazing job! I also had been having a little issue with dryness and breakage but we did some treatments and I purchased a few products that made a world of difference. I feel as though Rebecca not only delivered great results with my hair, but she also explained why my hair was damaged and how I could go about fixing it the healthy way. She genuinely cared about helping me out and not about selling and pushing. I will definitely be going back to see her from now on and recommend the same to all of you.

James Joseph is an exceptional salon. It was a great experience! It is worth every penny. Lisa Proulx is my stylist. She is AMAZING!!! I have never received so many compliments on a haircut. She definitely works magic. My hair was a complete disaster before I went to see her. Now, it looks healthy, stylish, and simply fantastic.

EXCELLNT SALON!

I started coming here when my stylist, Dori, moved here from her old salon. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the staff are really nice and attentive, always there to offer coffee, water, etc. Dori is absolutely the best stylist I've ever had, I have the hair from hell, but she's worked really hard to find a style that works. And she's a great colorist -- I've had some bad experiences at other places with color that faded or looked flat - but never here. And there's this woman, I think her name is Amy, who gives an incredible shampoo/scalp massage. The prices are reasonable and they seem to schedule well because I never have to wait.
Pros: My hair always comes out great.
Cons: Parking can sometimes be a little difficult..

GREAT EXPERIENCE

The special is the service and the quality of cut. Bryan has cut my hair for over a year and not once have I walked away unhappy. The style is so great my friends want to know where I go and he is such a gem I give them his card. He has consulted with me each step of the way and wiith the proper products to use. At no time have I had to say NO NO NO or you messed up. He is a true professional and a credit to the business. He does not deserve the bad press being given. When somebody messes up let them know - go back and I am sure like any true professional they stand behind their product.
Pros: Professional staff and great cuts
Cons: They dont make house calls

Just came home from this studio. Location is okay and parking could be better. The receptionist was friendly and polite. I am very disappointed about my hair cut. When I pay for a 50+ dollar haircut I expect nothing less then perfect. If I wanted a okay haircut I would of went to super cuts or hair cuttery. If I was a model my career would have been over due to this hair cut. I wanted a fohawk and end up having a pointy bangs. The funny part is that I came in with long hair so I can have a fohawk and my hair artist told me next time when my hair is longer down the middle ill get a fohawk. So disappointed in this hair cut. I should of just went to super cut where I have low expectations. Ladies and gentlemen this studio is just another pretty place with pretty people at a pretty location. If you 50+ dollars to spare with low expectations this is the studio for you.
Pros: Nice Studio.
Cons: Bad Hair Cut.

worst haircut ever

I went for a haircut with Bryan a few weeks ago based on a friend's recommendation. Despite my telling him that I wanted to grow my hair out and I only wanted it shaped, and despite my specifically telling him NOT TO USE A RAZOR, he sliced and diced my already thin hair and did the exact opposite of what I requested ( literally, when i saw the razor in his hands to cut my bangs i stopped him, he used scissors then picked up the razor and used it before i could stop him again). I was going to just let this very bad experience go, but after several weeks of trying to dry this horrible cut, and getting just as angry every time I look in the mirror, I decided to write a review. I will not be going back to him. I don't understand the language barrier that exists between "stylists" and their clients- they seem to always turn a deaf ear to what we request and yet we pay for their ignorance, not only out of our pocket, but the months we have to wait until their mess grows out.

great cut, friendly service, not expensive

I really loved my haircut from Tara. She was warm, conversational and very kind (like a best friend). I enjoyed talking with her so much. She listed to my requests and completed the haircut in about 40 minutes. Simply beautiful person. The haircut was excellent, exactly what I requested; well shaped, cut the length off exactly as I asked and lifted some of the heaviness off. I look great. Only $50! Going back for coloring next.
The entire staff in medford is very nice, they listen to what you desire and there is absolutely no pressure to purchase any extras!! She didn't even mention what product she was using on me until I asked.
The salon is very relaxing, beautiful, and the hot cup of green tea was delicious. I would go back again.
