I have worked with Heather Thompson at Circle Studio for the past several months on rehab for my chronic low back problem. I am a golf professional and the golf swing creates a lot of stress on the spine. Heather is a great teacher and we have made great progress using the Active Isolated Stretching method. My back is much more flexible than before, and stronger too. Heather is also a Pilates teacher and we have used some Pilates as well, which blends really well with AIS.

I like the atmosphere at Circle Studio - very light and spacious, and really nice folks who work there.

AIS is a really effective method for increasing one's flexibility.

I've had back and knee problems for the past few years and after several rounds of phys. therapy, I started Pilates at Circle in January 2008. It's by far the nicest place I've found. My instructors are Kari and Richard - both are excellent. I've seen a terrific improvement in my balance and also my back and (post-op) knee. I look forward to going there for several reasons: The instructors are very smart, caring, consistent, warm and yet utterly professional. No drama - just really good instruction. The studio itself is light, bright, and clean, and it's far enough north in the Pearl that there is ample parking. You can buy packages which save you money. I highly recommend Circle Studio.

Smart, articulate instructors
& beautiful space.

I've worked out all over NYCity, where Pilates and Gyro
both started getting their foothold as intelligent exercise -
Circle Studio is the BEST in Portland and NY better watch out.

Every time I go,
I leave energized.

Circle Studio is a fantastic asset to the Pearl District with Gyrotonic in addition to Pilates. The studio has wonderful bamboo floors and is spotless. The staff is highly trained and caring. Definitely a 5 Star Studio!

I have had the pleasure of training with all of the teachers at Circle Studio, and I can say without a doubt that they are all incredibly knowledgeable, creative and friendly. The owner Kari is so professional with out a bit of pretentiousness. I love this place.
