Carrabba's is my favorite Restaurant. We go twice or more a month and have never had a bad dinner or poor service.
The salads leave something to be desired so we always have the soups. My favorite is the Italian Sausage & Lental. We like the new menu, it was time for a change.
The bread & dipping oil is a favorite. Keep up the good work!

Well...I am not sure why the experiences from last year are still posted here...my family has enjoyed the most wonderful times at this place over the past several months. The food is always great and the service is sincere and informed. They go out of their way to make sure my young children are part of the experience. Sure, they are extremely busy on the weekends...but we go early or on week nights as we have young children who can not last for the wait time on a Saturday night.

I would expect my silverware to be presented without having to ask for it after dinner arrived - 45+ minutes after seating and ordering, but I would be wrong at this establishment.
I would also expect dinner to arrive more quickly than 45+ minutes, though even then I could forgive, but ours was lukewarm when it did finally arrive. Apparently our dinners were forgotten and were re-plated on heated plates in an attempt to fool us.
I would expect appetizers to arrive more quickly than at least 30 minutes after ordering, but again, perhaps I could forgive.. but when they arrived, they were cold, and improperly cooked. A supposedly fried food was soaking with grease, not at all browned, and cold.
Also, we had to order twice. The first time our server acknowledged our order but apparently forgot. 10 minutes later she came by with bread and asked if we wanted an appetizer, which we had previously ordered along with our main courses. Poor lady.
When the food arrived, the tomato soup tasted almost exactly like the Campbell's canned soup I fondly remember from days in bed with the flu as a child. The only thing to differentiate it from canned soup was a light sprinkling of basil on top.. which was obviously chopped hours ago and not refrigerated, it had darkened around the edges and was very limp.
For the price, I would expect a little more actual food. There was easily 3/4 of the white plate visible. I think they are trying to fool some of us into believing they are a higher class establishment than the poor quality would have me believe.
I give 1 extra star for 2 reasons ONLY. 1, because the appetizer, which was very late and poorly cooked I need mention again, was discounted free and the staff was a little apologetic. And 2, because they were very busy and obviously understaffed with poor overworked servers and apparently cooks as well. I am left to imagine why, and my imaginings lead me to wonder if it's not so the owners can pocket a little more cash for themselves. If so, this is a very fast way to sink a business.
I certainly won't be back.

Roanoke does not have many fine Italian restaurants so Carrabbas is probably the best in town. The antipasti is unique in the area. The drinks are good and the menu items ample. Even the take out service is very efficient and friendly. I would suggest to out of towners who are staying near Valley View Mall to dine here. I think it is much nice than the Olive Garden, which is almost next door.

My wife and I have eaten here a few times and enjoyed it every time. The staff are good at their jobs and have always been friendly and attentive. We have had finer Italian dinning, but this is a very quality experience with a fine menu selection and a very nice bar area to wait in for an available table. It is located close to the mall, so it is often very busy on the weekends.
