I was so excited to see a local wine bar open. Enough to go back 4-5 times to find a better experience then the last. I and my companions (husband or friends) could never get it. I have found the selection to be too
small, sometimes the few listed are not available. I have never had any insightful recommendations from the staff. One time the waitress actually asked me how much my glass of wine was when we asked for the
bill! The only saving grace is the chef. The food there is great and fun. I hope he goes to a place that can
really WOW the customers with a selection of great wines and a staff that can really educate you and give some great to wines to get excited about, not with wines you already buy. Yes Jonathon is fun and seems
to know wine but he is not the one waiting on you.

I discovered this wine bar on my way to H.E.B.
Nice decoration with blue and orange tones, the place was not packed, it was the beginning of the evening.
I ordered a cheese platter with a flight, asking the bartender to choose the four wines.
It was the special this night, for 17 dollars.
Excellent selection : a Cabernet and a Zin ( loved this smoooooth Prisoner) from Napa Valley, a lovely Shiraz from Australia, and an earthy Malbec.
It was a pleasure to talk about the Old World with John.
I appreciated the service, the knowledge and passion about wine.

I'm sorry to see people's bad experiences with the wine bar, as my friends and I went and had a great time. The decor was a different, exotic marroco stylish, but I thought the wine was just great, and service fine. I actually look forward to going again for some fresh no frills food. The 55 sandwich was awesome, salad tasty and the black and blue. Live music, what else you can ask, No complaints! Hey, Mckoy , if you're thinking, you had a bad experience, you should get more information about why bar tenders have to teste the wine before offer to the customer. I recomended you to try it again, ask for Jonathan (the owner) he will help you, he is a nice guy.

A bar tender (girl) drinking behind the bar, a french guy didn't know what to say about californian and south american wines. My first time and I paid too much for a chip wine.

I met a guy here to have a nice date. The date ended up being nice, but the bar seemed a little dazed & confused. Service was reasonable, but the big problem was the menu. We requested 4 wines on the menu and none of them were available. Every time the waiter had to check to see if it was available. We lucked out though 'cause he offered us a wine that was not on the list and gave us a good price compared to the normal price. It was interesting that the only Italian wines on the menu were Barolo... the most tannic, heavy, dry you out wines. I'm not into Chianti, but no Chianti? Weird... The cheese plate was well presented and tasty. This place was just kind of awkward in setup and feel, but it will maybe get better with age. Not sure why there were 6 employees working with only about 10 customers at 8pm at night. Maybe something was going to happen when we left. I hope it makes it for the sake of us locals.

This cozy wine bar is awesome! Jonathan, the owner, really knows his wine, and food. The staff is very friendly and the wine selection is great! I had mini burgers which tasted delicious! Highly reccommend and ask for Jonathan and tell him your vote is yes for a gospel Sunday brunch, something else NW Houston doesn't have!

I sell real estate in the Spring area and bring my clients here to relax and enjoy the atmosphere and wine. The entire staff is knowledgeable about the wine and makes you feel like you're family. My clients have made comments about how fabulous the food is. Especially the Fried Chicken and Waffles...YUMMY! I would refer my pickiest clients to 55 Degreez Wine Bar!

Great wine selection, great jazz music, yummy food, and NO SMOKING!!!! LOVE it!!!!! If you don't know much about wine, they do a good job of suggesting ones to try. It can be hard to find a seat on Saturday nights, so get there by 8:00 if possible. I suggest the cheese tray if you just want some munchies, and if you are looking for a meal, the pizza is good, as is the chicken and waffles. Yum. I suggest trying a flight of wine - you'll get three 2 oz glasses of different wines to taste.
