I felt compelled to write this review after I read some harsh criticisms in previous entries. I dine out often and am extremely picky, having worked in fine dining restaurants from high school through grad. school.

I came to 4th & Swift on a busy Saturday night, and received, world class service (as aforementioned, I am a harsh critic). Never did our server "disappear for over 20 minutes" and everything came to the table immaculate and tasty. I dined on an AMAZING heart of Ribeye, which my server explained was a cut that offered the best of both worlds: delicious marbling, yet lean meat. It was finished with a BONE MARROW BUTTER!!!! YUM! My partner started with the much acclaimed brussels sprout salad and took the server's recommendation on the scallops, which were extraordinarily sweet and had a great texture. Dessert was a slight let down.... but not enough to ruin the dining experience or make me go to cafe intermezzo.

Whoever wrote that the atmosphere was the only thing worth going for (and posted it on every review page they could) must have been there on an off night, clearly, or just doesn't understand the nature of the restaurant business. 4th&Swift was worth every cent not only for the atmosphere, but the service and the food as well.

My foodie friend recommended this restaurant as an up and coming new place. It had a nice industrial vibe and cool, modern interior, although it is situated on the edge of a very transitional neighborhood (the road was dark and a little creepy). The place was a little loud, with tables situated close together (and our table was very wobbly and had to be leveled with some napkins under the leg), but the interior is attractive and the service attentive. The four of us who went each tried different dishes, and everything was good. Some dishes to recommend are the Three Pigs, and my duck dish was yummy. The big disappointment of the evening was the desserts. We ordered the special, which was supposed to be a chocolate cake with vanilla cream and coffee ice cream - the consistency of the cake was very spongy, and it had fluffy cream inside with a chocolate glaze on top. The effect was that it looked and tasted like a Moon Pie. When I eat out at a nice restaurant, I expect better than a moon pie. We gave our feedback to the server, who kindly brought us a different chocolate cake, but sadly it was not much better. So...nice atmosphere, good food, pretty rotten desserts.
