Human

by RobertLM

With all do respect, I had the worst week ever when this took place first my work van on Friday broke down it cost me $2698.00 to fix. This was the reason I did forget to call it was a human mistake. The clients home I was on at the time was scheduled for an occupancy permit. I had to tie up some loose ends for that job Saturday morning which our meeting was for 11am. I would be about a half hour late so I call to let them know. Saturday I did call about an hour before the scheduled meeting but at that point she was not hearing it and thats fine I meant no harm after all this was just a free estimate meeting. Life's circumstances had the best of me that weekend Im sure you have had some too, my total apologies to you Tami

Unreliable, unprofessional

by TJM2009

I was very disappointed in this company. I put in a bid on Service Magic for drywall repair and got a call that same day from Robert, the owner. He talked to me about the work that needed to be done and then asked if he could come on Friday evening to do a bid, then asked if all goes well could he work on the weekend? I said "yes!" I wanted this job done ASAP as we have a baby coming very soon.
He never showed up on Friday evening (we sat and waited) and so we called him. He had an excuse about a job going long, he meant to call, etc. At this point I was pretty skeptical that this person is going to be a reliable contractor. He promised he would come the next morning at 11am.
The next morning at 10am he called and asked to reschedule, saying he had a four million dollar home that needed some work and he would be unavailable all weekend (although he originally told me he would be available to do the job). I told him I would rather find someone else becuase, as he knew already, I wanted this done as soon as possible.

First of all, there was no excuse for him not to call us on Friday night and just be honest with us. It would have saved us another day of waiting around and wondering if this person would show up. Second, if he only wants to take jobs on expensive homes that pay a lot more, he should focus his business on those, and stop taking jobs from us regular folks. It is understandable - it's business! JUst don't promise things that you cannot follow through on. It causes people like me to be delayed in accomplishing projects and gives contractors a bad name overall.

Cons: Did not show up for bid, did not call
