I can't recommend NY International Shipping to anyone apart from a worst enemy.

The initial consultation with Wayne was great - very positive and it looked very professional. The expectation was set around how long it would take to arrive in Australia as I needed all of our household items to arrive quickly and were happy to pay for it. He explained that it was easy and that they did a lot of shipments to Australia without any problems.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience with NY International Shipping was terrible. Actually Ill admit the guys who came to pick up our boxes was very pleasant despite being 3 hours late and missing our lift booking, and they worked quickly and efficiently one there.

My first encounter with the person handling my case (Theresa) set the tone - her first words were "I'm so stressed - I've got so much to do". There was no communication from the company and I had to push the entire process otherwise our pickup would never have happened. There were no phone calls or even emails sent without me having to send one or call first. The customer service side of the company is terrible, and there is no way to escalate. And forget about calling after 5pm and getting any answers.

The invoicing from the company was awful, and I ended up having to pay over $140 in bank fees due to 2 incorrect invoices and threats of delays in shipment if payments weren't made in time. This is aside from the fact that the cost was 50% more than the initial quote and there were multiple addons to the initial cost.

I was advised that by air the shipment would arrive within 5 days. Our boxes hadn't even left their warehouse in New York after 2 weeks. They arrived on July 26 at our apartment, which was 23 days after pickup. This left us without any clothes apart from what we had in our suitcases for over 3 weeks, let alone our baby gear, stroller and bassinet.

Needless to say, moving is already stressful enough without having to call the shipping company at least once a day in different time zones to get an update and push for our belongings to arrive. Moving with a baby back to Sydney was incredibly stressful, but my biggest mistake in the whole process was choosing this company to look after our items. This was a completely different experience to the one I had going over to the US when our boxes arrived quickly and without fuss.

Please reconsider before using this company - there are better options out there.

I am writing this review in regards to my recent move from Jersey City to London. From the first phone call with Adam to the delivery at my final destination, the professionalism by the office team and the moving crew both in the US and in London was excellent. Adam helped me with a reasonable estimate for my shipment. He followed up with emails and phone calls, making sure I was receiving all the latest information from him and guiding me through booking and filling out the required forms. Valerie from the Logistics Dept. followed up with me regarding booking, deposit, final payments, documentation, scheduling pickup and transit time of my shipments in addition to answering my questions and assuring me that everything will be taken care of. They explained that moving the items is not a quick process and requires certain forms and everything has to be verified before it is moved. I was told that my goods were going to be in a consolidation and that they have to wait for a complete one in order to ship my goods. Valeries and Adams attentiveness was present with every email and phone call. They made sure all the information from booking to invoices to scheduling pickup and delivery and everything in between was accurate and up to date. The moving crew took care of all my items, making certain that everything was where it was supposed to be and safe & secure. Once arrived in London, my items were delivered safely to my home and delivered to the appropriate area of the house. Throughout the entire process of my move, the staff calmed my nerves and assured me they were doing everything as professionally as possible. Their professionalism, knowledge, friendliness, and dedication are why I had a great experience with NY Shipping. I would be more than happy to recommend NY International Shipping to friends and colleagues. Keep up the great work!

I moved from PA , USA to Oxford UK in September 2012. I have waited a year to post a review as I wanted to let the dust settle and emotions calm down. However, one year to the week later I have decided to review this company in the hope that others can learn from my experience.
I initially spoke to Wayne in the office who helpful, polite and reassuring. He made an appointment for David Mazafi to visit to provide an estimate. David did not turn up for the appointment and in hindsight I should have stopped my discussions with NY International Shipping at this point. However Wayne reassured me there was a good reason for this and another appointment was made. David estimated the costs, which was not the cheapest I received but as I felt comfortable with Wayne I decided to proceed.
The packers arrived on the day and spent the next few days packing. I will bullet point my concerns
1) They helped themselves to the content of my fridge without my permission.
2) They made it clear that they were not well paid and made their money on tips which they expected to be in the region of $100 per man - there were 6 of them!
3) They packed furniture which was clearly marked for leaving in the property
4) They stood over me as I filled in the customer satisfaction sheet so there was no way I could be candid.
Once the load had been taken back to the depot I was told it was far larger than estimated and my cost was increase by approximately 35% to the tune of $3000+ . After considerable discussion they did reduce this additional cost by $1000.
During these discussions I was told that all of my shipment would not fit into the container, I therefore said that IF NEEDS MUST the two canoes could be left, however I reassured by Wayne that he was confident that they would be included. I was understandably angry at this additional cost as their rep had visited the house and I can honestly say that two very large that items that I had asked him to include in the shipment where in fact disposed of prior to my move so the shipment was actually smaller than the estimate had allowed for.
Once the shipment was on its way I was sent forms to complete for its arrival in the UK. I sent back promptly as requested however I was not informed by the logistics department that they could not read the faxed copy until MANY days after their receipt and I was asked to resend, which again I did promptly. I had been told that my container would be available for release from the port 10-14 days. It was actually released on the 10th day but I was informed by the shipping company in the UK that they would not release it until I had paid for the extra days in the port. There were no extra days, I had always been told to expect 10-14 days and it was released on the 10th day however I once again had to pay SEVERAL HUNDRED POUNDS to get the container released. I asked why I was having to pay this and the representative in the UK office said that she had liaised with NY Shipping and they had told her to charge me. I could understand this if I had caused the container to be delayed but I had not and the container was released on the first day of the time frame I was told to expect.
Once the container was delivered it was found that the canoes had been left in NY. This I could understand if the container was packed to capacity but there was plenty of room. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME FOR A COPY OF THE PHOTOGRAPH I HAVE OF THE CONTAINER DOORS BEING OPENED, The large space available is evident. When I challenged the NY office they said the space was not what it seemed ???? I also paid $250 per item for several items to be crated, one of these, an extremely valuable picture was not, again photographic evidence is available.
However they 'very kindly' offered my a 5% discount should I use them again. This was glib and insulting, they knew I was moving myself and my children back on my own dime.
THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU USE THIS COMPANY. ONE YEAR LATER I STILL REGARD THEIR SERVICE TO BE DECEITFUL AND THE CANOES AS STOLEN.

We had a great experience with NY International Shipping. We worked with Wayne, who was always prompt, professional and available for any and all questions we had along the way. We moved our stuff from New York to Australia, the movers were professional and efficient. The only problems we had was on the Australian end with a independant shipping company requesting an additional fee to deliver the goods to our door. When we contacted Wayne, he assured us he would take care of it and he did! Our stuff arrived a bit later than expected, but to no fault of this company. When it came it was all in great shape. Would recommend this company.

This was by far the worst move I ever had to go through. I am an international professional (United Nations), who has enjoyed many smooth moves between countries already. I selected this company due to its positive online ratings. The interactions with NY International Shipping were positive up until the moment they had endorsed my cheque. As soon as NY International Shipping had received my money nothing worked any more. All contact stopped, nobody returned my calls and the movers didn't even show up on the agreed moving date. When I called to find out where the movers were (and finally managed to speak to somebody after many attemps) I was merely told that there had been a last minute change and that I should take the next day of work off too to wait for the movers. The person I talked to at NY International Shipping did not even present their excuses for the major inconvenience caused. At that point in time it was obviously too late to change moving company but I already saw further trouble coming. For weeks my boxes were not shipped since the company apparently noticed that they needed additional information from me 2 weeks after having picked up my boxes by which time I had already left my old job and the country; they contacted my old email address instead of using my new contact information in France, which I had provided to them and which they had obviously never entered into their system. I eventually received my shipment, though with many weeks of delay, in France. Considering their lack of organization all along they way, I considered this close to a miracle. Frankly, by then, I had already given up on my shipment and on the $2,500 I had paid. I should add that the way I was talked to each time I called the company once my money had been cashed in by them was the rudest I have been talked to in my 6 years in NYC. I am writing this a year after my experience with NY International Shipping since I received an email from them today asking me to rate them....a year later I have not forgotten this horrible move; and never will!!!

NY International is a company that prides itself with bad customer service, not answering emails on time even from boss David Mazafi. i tried calling from France several times long distance and was just kept on hold. I had to hung up because i was using a calling card.
There were several issues with my shipment. Cubic fee was higher than the estimate and from seing the below many clients have the same issue. I wish an audit would take place in this company as im shure that all clients complain about their cubic feet. they just want to make an extra buck and are dishonest thiefs.

eventually if i wanted to see my belongings i had to pay as they were holding my goods hostage. accounting never responded to emails about payment or volume questions and the rest of the staff was the same way.

i am happy this whole order is over and advise people to NEVER use them. they are unreliable, liars and do not belief in customer service!!

DO NOT USE!

I don't tend to write reviews, but this company has done such a horrible job I have let others know to be AWARE!

Read the other 1 or 2 star ratings and you will see that they have a continuing theme. You get locked in by a good salesman who is nice, very responsive on the phone, but once you sign that contract all communication and service go out the window.

They give you very little information about your shipment, they are un responsive to emails, they respond to emails very unprofessionally, AND THEY LOST PART OF MY SHIPMENT. How the hell do you just LOSE a mattress?! And surprise surprise, they are taking a while to get back to me on this one as well.

STAY AWAY from this shipping company!!!

I moved to the UK from NYC recently and used NY Int Shipping as recommended by a friend. All in all I was very pleased with the service. The only thing is that it took 8 weeks for door to door delivery, my house is in the south west of the UK, and I was promised no more than 6. But I was kept informed by a friendly staff all the time and definitely value for money.

All went well thanks. Total turnaround time door to door was quite impressive: 5 weeks from the time I paid the invoice! It beat our expectations. Also: only item that didn't make it in one piece is one plate which arrived broken. 1 item out of 70 boxes full of our stuff is really minimal damage. That was satisfying too.

We are a family of four and we are moving out of the country to give way for a new job opportunity in Japan. I have been worried on the necessary things to complete so that we can finally go. My biggest worry is about our household and belongings, so I relied on the services of a shipping company.
NY shipping company is more than what I expected. They did an excellent job of shipping all our things to our new location. Prior to that, they also gave us some pointers on the restricted things to bring and other essential stuffs. In the end, we made it through the entire process. The picked up all our things on our old house and delivered them all safely on our new place. The delivery is safe and smooth assuring us that our household is in good hands. Thanks to NY Shipping Company.

The picked up all our things on our old house and delivered them all safely on our new place. The delivery is safe and smooth assuring us that our household is in good hands. Thanks to NY Shipping Company.

.

We were extremely pleased with the service of the NY Shipping movers. They were on time, efficient, and were very good with all our household goods. All in all, it was a very positive first experience and I appreciate all your help.

Dear Eli/NY Int. Shipping, Thank you for arranging the pickups yesterday for our moving to the UAE. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continuous support and advice throughout the process. It has been a smooth journey so far. I also wish to acknowledge the professionalism and dedication of your ground staff who came to pickup our stuffs. They were extraordinarily polite, efficient and professional. The way they handled the packing and loading, it was remarkable. Hopefully, we will get same professionalism at the other end as well when our stuff arrive in UAE. I would like to use your services again in the future as well, and recommend you highly to our friends who need moving.Once again me and Fatima wish to thank you for your excellent services and commitment.

Best regards Sincerely Haider/Fatima

I wanted to take the opportunity to that NY Shipping, and Wayne in particular, for their excellent service through the process of moving my belongings to London. Wayne and his team were incredibly helpful from initial assessment through pickup and with follow up when my shipment arrived at port in London. The pickup team in New York were efficient and timely, and the NY Shipping office team were incredibly helpful at every step of the process. I can't thank Wayne and NY Shipping enough, and would recommend them without reservation.

Best Regards, Daniel

My service in the US was about to expire and I needed to move back to Japan.
I researched different shipping companies online and have called several companies. I had made appointments with three or four shipping companies that I thought their prices were reasonable. I had a case when the representative for one of the companies failed to show up, although they called afterwards and asked to reschedule I refused to meet with them, because I felt that if they respect their potential clients they should have notified me prior. In any event, when I called NY International shipping, I got on the phone with David one of the representative at NY International shipping. David seemed pretty knowledgable, he asked for specific questions as to what type of items I need to ship and gave me an approximate estimate and suggested that we meet in person. The price David quoted me seemed reasonable in comparison to other prices that I received from other shipping companies and I agreed to meet with him.
When I met with David we spent a couple of hours going over his prices and what type of fees would be included or excluded from the agreement. I also informed David that if I ship with him I need to have the shippment sent as soon as possible.

After a day or two I called David back and I told him that I agree to ship with him. David reviewed his schedule while on the phone and assigned me a date for the movers to come and pack my stuff to be shipped.

On the shippment date NY International staff came to my apartment at the scheduled time and within no time my apartment was packed and on the truck.

The staff at NY International Shipment provided me with updates on a regular basis from the time the items were picked until the final delivery in my house in Japan.

Finally and the most important thing. My stuff came in the same condition as when it was left and everything was intact. The final charge was almost identical to the quoted price that David quoted me. Great service guys and thank you David and the NY International Shipping staff.

One last comment, if you search responses on this and/or other web sites, you will see some good reviews and some not as good reviews, but do your research and call these guys, you may be surprised by the great service that you will receive from this teriffic company. I highly recommend this company to anyone moving overseas.

they forgot about my shipment!

it was a whole month after i'd arrived in Hong Kong, i called to find out when the shipment was due and they said they'd never received payment. My company had electronically transferred the money about three days after they took delivery!

they never called, they never emailed. they just let the shipment sit there in their warehouse. i had to call, i had to make them look in their bank account! they never apologized, they never took responsibility. they forgot about my shipment and they didn't even have the courage to own up to their mistake.

i didn't get my shipment until three months after i'd arrived in Hong Kong!!

the only good thing about the company were the men that came to pick the shipment up, but from what i understand, they were an outsourced removals company. if only they outsourced everything, they may have a chance.

1 star isn't low enough for NY International Shipping! I don't want to go into too much detail (I'd rather not relive the horror that was my move experience to Germany from NY in March this year,) but essentially it was the worst experience I've ever had with a mover. My furniture was delivered after 3 months (when I was given a time frame of 6-8 weeks for delivery,) they missed the first boat for delivery because they didn't process my payment until I called 1 week later to "check in" on things and they realized their error, and they were generally incompetent from start to finish.

Once my furniture and belongings were delivered (3 months late, as previously mentioned) there were $3,300 worth of damages, (all of which I claimed.) If you decide to go for the cheaper option (a mistake I unfortunately made,) make sure to get the insurance!!! Also, stock up on painkillers because this whole process was a headache.

I would never recommend this mover and would suggest saving yourself the trouble and pay a little more for better service.

This is the first time I have to deal with moving to another country and not just any country - China. It is a different culture and I wanted to make sure I don't have any problems shipping my stuff there. NY Shipping really took care of everything (except for some paper work...) and I even got my things to Beijing ahead of time which was great (they told me there might be a delay but eventuelly there was not).

I've always looked forward to going to college and moving out of my parents' house. When that day finally arrived, though, I had an unexpected feeling. Perhaps, it was the fact that I was going to college in a different country.

NY International Shipping did a great job in making everything less overwhelming for me. I am young and know nothing of this kind of arrangement and they happily walked me through it. They picked up my stuff from my parents' house and delivered them to my college apartment in Europe.

Good service. Even better people.

Unprofessional, Rude, terrible service. They ROUTINELY lie to customers.

Some of the issues we had:

1) once they get your deposit they treat you like garbage
2) they routinely LIE
3) They leave paperwork until the last possible minute. (we needed a certificate of insurance so the movers could use the elevators in our building. I called for 2 weeks about this and kept being treated like I was harassing them over nothing. A person called Alexandria was simply disgusting, and lied to me repeatedly that she "took care of it". Then another person took over called Scott. He said he was "management". He probably lied or was the worst manager on the planet. Sure enough on the day of the move the certificate was not done, and the movers had to wait in the Lobby for one hour while the issue was finally being taken care of!!!)
4) they lied about the delivery date. We said we needed our stuff by the first week of August. We were told by their sales guy (Wayne) "Yes of course, that's what we do, we will make sure your things get there". Well, August went by, and it is unlikely that our stuff will get here until the 2nd or 3rd week of September. (I will update the review to give the actual delivery date).

5)They LOST our paperwork causing a delay with the processing of our shipment. There are a few forms to fill out and we did fill them out and send them over MANY times. We send them in print, and send them as files attached to various emails. Again and again we were told not to worry, "it is taken care of". Then last week I got a call saying that Customs needed the forms?!?!?! I re-sent them for maybe the 5th or 6th time, and asked if that's why our stuff was not here yet, and the nasty person on the phone said "No, I don't THINK so".

We still haven't received our stuff and we have every reason to be worried at this point.

SAVE YOURSELF and use someone else!!!! These people should be prevented form doing further damage they are CROOKS.

They are just extremely painful.... stay away from them.
Here is a quick summary of some of the pain they made me go through:
- I shipped a laptop... received the bag but not the laptop!
- shipped a desk... got damaged but they thought it would be OK with a dirty fix that broke since then
- I asked them to crate my paintings.... they forgot the crate, but not to charge me for it!!!
- oh, and or course my furniture was one month late...
- etc, etc etc
I've been trying to at least get reimburded for the crate: it's been a year and I still have not received the money.
Once you have paid the downpayment: you're screwed.

AVOID

Do not use this company. The worst experience I've ever had with a service company ever by a long shot. They underquoted and overcharged. They failed to send appropriate documentation to their 'partner' in the UK, who similarly failed to follow up and ask for it proactively. Subsequently my shipment sat in customs for 3 extra weeks, for which they charged. Then they took another month to even get the shipment on a truck, claiming they had missed the window of the truck it was supposed to go on due to the paperwork issues. They don't communicate proactively at all and I ended up calling them every day to push them along. Never once were they concerned about how long it was taking. They had no ability whatsoever to give estimated data of delivery of the course of the next two weeks, and then they expected somebody to be at the destination all day with a day's notice. Unbelievable. They are unorganized, don't care about you once they have your money, their partners overseas are just as bad. Do yourself a huge favor and pay a little more if you have to but avoid this company like the plague. The heartache and stress is just not worth it.

Just an update on my previous review. What was quoted as 8-10 weeks door to door has now turned into 17 weeks! Additionally their "partners" here in Sydney are charging us additional fees to walk up 2 extra flight of stairs and refuse to cross the road to get into our apartment block. Apparently we had to ensure that there was sufficient parking space for a huge 15 meter truck, no more then within 100 meters of our door. All in all $700 extra on top of their original fee. Wow! What a load of crap!

We moved a couple of months ago to Dubai with NY Shipping. I was very stressed, therefore I checked them online and even asked to speak to customers they moved.

All went well, The packing crew did a great job and we got our container within the time range they promised.

Only thing is that I felt bad for the movers since it happened to be that we moved on the hottest day so far... :) But overall they didn't complain and tried their best.

(Not that here (Dubai) is cooler... )

Well, thank god we have at least 5 years here before we need to move back to the states.
Cheers!

Five month ago, our shipment left the US on its way to Germany and has still not arrived at its destination. However, we have been contacted by the British customs with an invoice of GBP 1,200 and the information that more charges are to come from German customs. We have an agreement w. NY Int??l Shipping for Door to Door delivery and I have been trying to get in touch with Wayne Townsend of NY International Shipping, who was our original contact: to no avail. My e-mails and phone messages remain unanswered.
This is a nightmare and I would never recommend this company to anyone!

My family and I are returning home from a job assignment I had in England. We spent nearly four years there. Coming home is going to be great. My company hired NY International Shipping to move our belongings back to the US. They came out and started the process and got us loaded up in a day. Our belongings made it to our home within the time frame they said it would. The cost was paid by my company so I do not know the cost. But we were very happy with the company, very professional.

I always wanted to retire to Costa Rica. My wife and I have been looking forward to it for sometime. We made several trips there and spent six months there before deciding to move there. Now it was time to move. We call NY International Shipping for a quote. They came and gave us a quote which was within our budget. We packed and they load us up and off went our belongings. We headed down to San Jose and waited for our belongings. They showed up but the Custom people in Costa Rica are not the fastest workers on earth. Finally two days later they released our belongings. We were happy with the shipping and the care our stuff got. We recommend them.

I have used other moving companies (Flat rate movers to name just one) and have had much better service and treatment. I moved from NY to Canada in September and used NY International Shipping. A good friend of mine made the same move and had very similar problems. My main complaint was that the quote I received was no where near the price they charged me even though I was very precise in detailing the amount of furniture I had to move. I did not expect the quote to be exact but the price ended up being over by almost half of the price I was quoted. Furthermore, they could not tell me where the extra charge was coming from since I did not forget one piece of furniture. To add to my frustration the customer service was horrendous. The manager was conveniently out of the office every time I called to discuss the charge. I ended up having to drop the matter because every day I waited for the manager to "call me back" they refused to deliver my stuff. I finally paid the charge and dropped the issue because I wanted I needed to have my furniture delivered and there was no telling how long the manager would be out of the office.

To be honest we got a recommendation about NY Shipping from a colleague at work, so we didn't go through any screening process with this company. I am saying this as I am sure there are plenty of great moving companies out there and I would strongly recommend you do your homework before picking one to move your households across the globe..

We hired NY Shipping in November 2010 to handle my family relocation to London, UK.

I had great chemistry with David and Einat Mazafi (the owners) right from the start and this personal attitude made the whole move a pleasant experience from start to end.

Our goods arrived at our new home in London on time and in great shape. The service was professional and friendly.

It is not to say there weren't any issues, but we did not experience a single problem that was not addressed with great care and to our full satisfaction.

We will certainly use their service again on our way back to the US.

I was relocated to France three weeks ago. I know France pretty well, but it is important to note that when you move (not visit) to a different country, you should make sure the moving company understand the local regulations and restrictions. This is the place to thanks NYIS dedicated employees for their expertise and great service.

We paid them $4,000 deposit. Never did what they had promised. For over one month, we have sent 13 emails, and called numerous times requesting a ??final invoice of services rendered? and a refund. Nothing! Still waiting, but not for too much longer prior taking legal action to get our money back. Just horrible service. One star is too much for them.

I lucked out on these guys! I actually was down to 2 choices: NY International Shipping and something else. I later on decided to go with NY International Shipping. And I wasn't disappointed. They took care of everything like their sales rep assured me. I never thought moving to Spain would be this easy! Thanks, guys!

I never thought relocating overseas would be easy. I was so paranoid about my boxes that I shipped from NY to Scotland, so I kept on asking for updates from NY International Shipping on the status. They put up with me calling everyday. Things came intact. I appreciate it. I'm very happy I went for these guys!

Pros: Tracking Services

I gave a 4 out of 5 rating...and if you knew how pain-in-the-neck perfectionist I am, you know that means a lot! LOL. I am very much pleased with the service NY International Shipping has provided for my move to Milan (yes, yes!!! Milano, Italia, baby!!!). I even shared some few good laughs with the rep that arranged everything for me, Pat. Bravo to you, guys!
