Georgetown Liquor Company

Georgetown Liquor Company is one of a number of really interesting businesses that have sprung up in the Georgetown neighborhood. Despite the name, this is one of the best vegetarian restaurants around, and a great place to grab a very good selection of beers.

Most of the vegetarian food is based on field roast, which is a surprisingly satisfying substitute meat. I'm a meat eater, but really enjoy the field roast sandwiches. But I'd recommend going for their wild mushroom tamales first.

They also have a number of unique beers on tap. GLC is right down the street from Georgetown Brewing Company, which is the brewery for the famous Manny's Pale Ale. GLC also carries Georgetown Brewing's Chopper Red, which won my informal Seattle beer tasting event at work.

The other unique side to GLC is the availability of vintage video games. They have an old Ms. Pac Man table, an Atari, a Nintendo NES (the original Nintendo), and a Super Nintendo complete with a wide assortment of games. You can bring back memories playing Dig Dug and Frogger, but this time you can do it with a beer in your hand!
