S.E.Adventures

I recently had the opportunity to dive with Justin Cannatella at two sights in La Jolla, San Diego. I was very pleasantly surprised with the dives.

Justin is an excellent diver, very skilled and helpful as necessary. His approach is everything you expect of a very safety-oriented divemaster, and his level of service is outstanding.

The first of the two dive sites was La Jolla Shores. It is a beautiful shore dive with a very sandy beach. Preperation area has a lot of tables or just a huge mown grass field - easy to gear up. I took a taxi to the site, and recommend the same since parking can be an issue. The site is commonly called the "canyons" and is a silty sieries of walls. Visibility was roughly in the 20-30 foot range which was fine for this site. Water temp was 76 at the surface and 58 at 80'. Life included halibut, octopus, many different nudibranchs and snails, numerous tube worms, and more sand dollars than the eye could see.

The second dive was at La Jolla Cove. We did this dive as an evening/night dive. It's downright thick with lobsters. Watch the surge here though - you can get tangled up in seaweed, and if you have a camera, it's quite difficult to get shots. I was shooting various things and missed some great shots because of the surge. Life included a Horn Shark, California Spiny Lobsters, Sheeps Heads, Garabaldis, numerous members of the Bass family, Enormous Sheep Shrimp, and Scorpion Fish. Gorgeous.

I HIGHLY recommend Justin for these dives, and the next time I go out there, I'll be diving with him again.

I went scuba diving with SE Adventures in the kelp forest off La Jolla and in the canyon. It was a wonderful experience. The staff person, Justin was extremely professional , warm and friendly. He is an outstanding, experienced , knowledgeable, scuba professional. SE Adventures put safety 1st and pleasure next!!! He was helpful and fun to spend the day diving with. Directions were great.They can provide rental gear and were very flexible in scheduling!! I had amazing dives!!! I thought the prices were good and I would score them a 10!!!! ( top box). I was a 55 yr old woman, only diving a couple of years, who dearly wanted to dive and see beautiful Garibaldi fish. Sometimes diving with a stranger, even an excellent guide, might be intimidating. Justin was wonderful, gracious, kind and great guide and dive buddy. He was knowledgeable about the marine environment. We talked non stop on our surface intervals. I left feeling I had made a new friend.

We were given more than just a great leeson of Scuba Diving a great prove of responsability and seriousness, we were taught patiencely and in a very friendly way, how to use all the equipment to have a safe dive. Everything went perfect, we had tons of fun and we had a experience of a life time. To increase my likeness for Justin and his service, he gave us a ride to the airport and we forgot our camera bag and withing no time we had a soon answer from him, telling us that we were going to have our bag (wich included a video camera, cellphone, ipod and $300) within the next 3 business days. I coudn't believe that certainly 3 days later we had our bag at not charge with everything inside just as we left them. This is what service really is.

My boyfriend and I decided to try snorkeling for the first time. From the moment we met our instructor we felt comfortable, safe and we knew we were going to have a great time. The instructor made everything easy to understand and made the entire adventure a memorable and exciting one. We are anxious to go back and hopefully learn to scuba dive the next time around. I've been referring friends and family to S.E. Adventures since the day we went snorkeling. They are GREAT !

I am from London and have never dived in cold water before so was really scared to dive in SD. The staff at SEA made it really easy and comfortable for me to dive and enjoy the wonderful wildlife that is so unique to SD. My instructor was really hot and funny and she helped me through all of my Advanced course , giving me private tutorials on the things I couldnt understand. I would recommend SEA to anyone who wants a really fantastic introduction into San Diego diving!
