Pros:
The Staff! Now, I believe the staff is merely the owner at this point however; Scott is a great guy with a big heart. He is more than happy to help in anyway he can (including hunting now harder to find titles).
Also, the selection of new releases and graphic novels are surprising expansive. The location might be small, but Third Eye is trying to put every square foot of retail space to work. There is still some empty space to utilize, but for a new business - it is a great start!
Cons:
Space - This place is small. There is not a ton of room to move if the place is hopping. Not too big of an issue yet however; lack of floor space could proof to be a major issue once the store's inventory starts to expand.
Back Issues - Again, this is a new store so backlogged inventory is thin. You won't find too many hidden treasures here.
Comics only - I think I saw a box of Magic cards somewhere but, beyond that - only comics, graphic novels, and a few toys. This isn't an absolute con, but with Annapolis' lack of good gaming, Third Eye could really step up and fill this void...if they had more room.
Overall: Third Eye has amazing potential to become the best comic store in Maryland, but they aren't there yet. In the meantime, everyone who loves comics should still give the big 'F-U' to Barnes&Borders and support these guys. They have got big heart, are amazingly social to customers (which is huge) and seem to be willing to go the extra mile to ensure satifaction. You do not see that kind of passion in retail comics/game often (if ever).
So check it out and BUY SOMETHING if you are a local! If you don't see something you wanted, tell the shopkeep and get him to order it for you! With enough luck, Third Eye will be successful enough in a year to expand and start truly rocking Annapolis!!!
