Great service and very knowledgeable technicians! I had 2 different companies come out to my house to take a look at my Subzero fridge, and after over a thousand dollars(!!!!) spent, the fridge was not fixed! The other companies replaced a control board and a bunch of sensors... Then they refused to even send out their techs saying that the fridge was not fixable and I should just get rid of it! Alex came out from American Appliance Repair and figured out the problem within minutes! All it was is a broken connection wire to the control board!!!!! It took him about 20 minutes to replace it! I wish I knew about them before I called those yahoos from other companies that failed to figure out the problem.

I had the highest hopes when I talked with a live person who promised us a discount for booking a visit online. The repair person came out on Tuesday and promised a return for a part installation on Wednesday. When my husband called before leaving to pick me up at the train station he was told that now they can't come until Friday because they are TOO BUSY for waiting customers on Thursday. Lousy attitude, lousy customer service. Now we're stuck with them because we can afford the 25% restocking fee to cancel the order. BUYER BEWARE!!

Im the owner of this company and I would like to reply to the 1star review below. THAT REVIEW IS FAKE FROM A COMPETITOR, JUST LIKE THE REVIEWS ON YELP. Those reviews on yelp were meant for a company that has the same name as us, BUT IT IS NOT US. They are located in Rancho Cucamonga and they service Orange County. We are being confused with them because we are located in Orange County and we have the same name. If you notice, on yelp, someone left a review about renting an appliance from us?! We dont rent appliances! So, Dear competitors, You can try all you want to ruin our reputation, you can go around and make up stories about horrible horrible service you got from us and how bad we are, but just remember, Karma will catch up with you... It is obvious to us, that your business is not doing good (obviously b/c of lack of professionalism judging by the fake reviews you leave for your competitors), and it will only get worst for you my friend. Our business is growing more than 7% each month! Most of our business comes from Property Management companies, Apartment complexes and our Return Customers that we have! If we were so horrible, I dont think we would be in business for long. Yelp is actually being sued for their misleading reviews now. So yelp is not as accurate as you think it is. Have a wonderful life My Dear one-man-show-working-from-my-apartment Competitors! :) ALEX

I will keep this short & to the point. I got a 20% discount on the repair for booking online with an instant chat service with a live person. They came out the same day and completed the repair the same day as well ... I haven't had ANY problems with my GE fridge since.. plus their price to come out was waaaaay below the others that I called. I made an informed decision on this repair and I couldn't be happier with the result or this company. I've already recommended them to numerous friends and family. I'm glad I can still find a customer service-oriented honest company in this day and age.

This is the best I have been treated! Alex came out to repair my double oven today, he figured that the problem was with the control unit. He didnt have the part on his truck, but they did have it in stock at the office. Today was the only day I could be home to do the repair. So Alex drove to the office, picked up the part, and then drove back to my house at no exra cost! I was trying to give him an extra $25 for driving back and forth, but (to my surprise) he refused to take it! He said-"Dont worry! Just make sure to give us a call if your other appliances break, and let your friends know about us!" He is so nice, so respectful and knowledgeable! Once you use American Appliance Repair, you won't want to call any one else!

This company provides the best service in the area! I have been calling them alot because i have seventeen properties that i manage in newport beach area. They have repaired my fridge, two washers, four dishwashers and also a GE range. Today I had a problem with an other appliance, my dryer in Hungtington Beach. Zack came out about an hour ago and took care of it in minutes. The service exceeds all the expectations!

Five stars once again! I used Alex a few times this year :). He came out to do a repair on my fridge (GE SxS) that was making a horrible noise, and yesterday he came out to do a repair on my oven. The oven was a GE as well, it was built in. For some reason the door wouldnt open, the latch got stuck. Alex came out and diagnosed that the the door lock needed to be replaced. He whole repair didnt take longer than an hour. Once he put in the new part, the oven worked like a charm!

This memorial day morning i was planing on relaxing and drinking a few with my family and friends. I woke up early to get the grill going and etc. When i opened my fridge, I knew i had a problem. It was warmer in there than outside :). Called around, and found a few companies that were open. All of them but American Appliance Repair wanted 150 bucks just to come out and take a look at the fridge. American appliance repair came out for only $65 (and applied it towards the repair)! They were at my house in about 25 minutes after i called them. The tech Mike had all the parts and had my fridge running in under 2 hours! I paid $982.53 for the compressor repair. I have a $10,000 SubZero so yea, I got A GREAT DEAL! Had the same repair done about 2 years ago by someone else and was charged almost $2,400..

Im the owner of this company. This is a response to "American Appliance Mediocrity by Reggie". Im not going to go on and on and on. Long story short is that We sent out our specialist Zack to look at their fridge. Zack determined that there was a problem with the fan motor and also the door. He EXPLIANED to the home owner that they both need to be fixed. When he provided the estimate to Reggie's roommate she said that it was too much. Zack said-"If you'd like, I can just replace the fan motor without repairing the door. Its cheaper but this will NOT fix the problem completely but it will work for a while" (THESE ARE EXACT WORD!). The roommate agreed to the new estimate and zack repaired the fan motor. 2 days later Reggie calls and starts bad mouthing my compamy over the phone. Then, he DEMANDED my tech to come back and repair the door for FREE OR AT 1/4 PRICE OF WHAT THE PART COST. We offered to repair the door if Reggie paid for the part+tax+shipping. He said NO! We didnt even try to charge labor for repairing the door.... We take care of our customers and our specialist KNOW what they are doing. Everything was explained to the customer, and the customer decided on their own not to repair the door. We replaced the condenser fan motor for only $165. Others charge $165 just for the part + another $120-150 for labor... We have hundreds of return customers a year so we are doing things right. There will always be someone who you are not going to please unless EVERTHING is free...

I used american appliance repair to repair my dryer and my oven. The tech came out on thrursaday to see what the problem was. He fix dryer right the way. For the oven he ordered the parts and just came by today and finished it up. Quick and very competitive prices. I was satisfied with the service.

On December 21, 2009, my roommate and I employed American Appliance Repair to repair our refrigerator. The freezer motor had stopped functioning due to a buildup of ice inside the motor. The buildup was due to the edges of the freezer door (and the lower door as well) not sealing completely with the frame of the refrigerator. The call was put out to AAR to fix the motor and re-seal the doors to avoid the problem again in the future.

Unfortunately, the reason I??m writing this review is because I am disappointed with the service provided. When the technician Zack came to provide the repair, he did not complete the job requested. Because of her lack of knowledge, my roommate ended up paying him for a job half completed. When Zack came, he got the motor running, but did NOT fix the doors. All he did was screw in a loose door screw. He let her know that to complete the repair he would have to order parts, namely a missing plastic washer to lift the door so it would seal. My roommate agreed to pay for the parts (which should have been no more than a few dollars) and he was supposed to call the next day to let her know how much and when the parts would be in to complete the repair. He obviously didn't call back.

For this "repair", we were charged $165, ($185 with a $20 discount?) and the freezer still has moisture coming in because it is not sealed, therefore, the motor is going to fail again. Is this the level of service we should expect from this company? If I only needed the motor defrosted and a screw tightened, I could have done it myself. I was expecting a professional repair, not a band-aid to make it appear as if the job was complete.

After my roommate left a voice mail on 12/26/09, we did not get a response, so I had to take charge of this situation. I called again on 01/04/10 at 8:AM to have Zack come back to finish the job. I was told that he would arrive between 5:PM and 8:PM. I called at 8:10PM when he did not arrive, and was told he was confused about the time because he thought he was supposed to be at my house between 6:PM and 9:PM. So I waited until 9:10PM to call again. It wasn??t until I threatened to contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau did Zack show up at 9:20PM, over 13 hours after my initial call.

Zack did come back to re-evaluate the situation, and him and I together worked on trying to seal the doors without parts, with NO results. The doors remain unsealed and moisture building up in the freezer. We determined AGAIN there would be the requirement to purchase the missing parts, which I had no problem paying for, but I told him I wasn??t going to pay another penny for labor. After talking to him and Alex, this was supposed to be an acceptable solution.

I have attempted to contact Zack on many occasions now, and he??s decided to stop responding. Also, it seems as if the employees at AAR have decided to blame my roommate as if she authorized an incomplete repair. The only mistake she made was paying for an incomplete job.

To resolve the problem, I would simply appreciate to have the repair completed. I still don??t mind paying for the missing parts; I just want the refrigerator to be COMPLETELY repaired. If the technicians are not capable of finishing the job, I would appreciate a FULL refund to my roommate so we can find another company that can.

I have sent this same review in a different format as basically a complaint letter to the AAR, with NO RESPONSE. I shouldn't be surprised since they won't disclose the first and last name of the owner, or the general manager because it's their "policy." Come to think of it, even the technicians only sign their FIRST NAME ONLY on the invoice. They also won't present a physical address for their business, just a P.O. box so you can't send them anything certified.

In my opinion, they ripped us off. Thanks alot American Appliance Repair, you are giving "Americans" a GREAT name by being a shady operation.

I've used american appliance repair for a while now. They had repaired my Fridge, my dryer and my oven over the past few years. Today they did a repair on my mother's washer and i was very pleased. I have to disagree with the previous review that someone by the name of "SS" left for them. They are very reasonable in pricings compare to others. Icemaker repair from other companies will cost you TWICE as much as they charge. They only use ORIGINAL parts and if you have a problem with it again, they will come out with no problems. I dont know if "Mr. or Mrs. SS" is new to appliance repair, but she should be happy she found this company! I've been dealing with AAR for quite sometime and they never screwed me over. You get what you pay for! I'd rather pay and be sure that my appliance is working and covered under their warranty, than pay some shmock that has no idea what he is doing and using used/refubrished parts to save money.

Saw American Appliance Repair web site and called them to fix my fridge. Even though this was not an emergency, I was told someone could be at my home within two hours in the evening. Alex was on time, did a great job, really knows his stuff, very experienced.

My complaint is the pricing - the ice maker he sold me was marked up 300%. I even pointed this out to Alex while he was in my house from about two dozen online sites with pricing for the exact ice maker. He said well that's just business.

Also, he had doubled the tax on my bill until I checked his math and pointed it out. The labor fee of $150 is absolutely ridiculous for an hour of work - even with the $30 repair fee deducted.

Alex did end up giving me a small discount on the ice maker after I complained enough, but still it was almost 250% price increase from what it sells for at dozens of other places.

So while Alex was a very good technician and absolutely knew what he was doing, the prices are so inflated, I would not feel comfortable recommending this company.

I had Alex come by and fix my Viking double oven. He know what he is doing. Really knew the product. He replaced a control board. Now the stove worked for over 2 month and still no other problems. Alex also repaired my Fisher &Paykel dishwasher, replaced a pump on it too. Since I'm a returning customer I get very good discount. They are very quality servicemen and have great pricing. About 25-40% cheaper than I had to pay other companies. Most of all they really seem to know what they are doing! And they pay you if you give them referrals.

My refrigerator stopped working last night and I did a web search of local businesses to find a local repair shop to fix my fridge. I was impressed by American Appliance Repair's web site and decided to have them come out.

I went AAR's online site to submit a request for them to come out. I never heard back from them, so I called them an hour later where they answered the phone and told me it was $30 to come out and that would be refunded if I used them to repair the fridge.

Alex, the technician, showed up at the house a couple of hours later and diagnosed my fridge to need a new relay for the compressor and that he'd do a maintenance on the condenser and that I needed a special cleaner.

Price:
"Special Cleaner" - $45
Relay for the compressor - $180
Labor - $160

Total $385 before tax or the "discount" they were going to give me to fix my 6 year old Whirlpool fridge.

It seemed a bit much to me and I said that I was going to consider buying a new fridge if it would cost that much to fix. I told him that I wouldn't have him do the work and paid him $30. On the way out, he told me he'd give me $50 for my fridge if I bought a new one.

So I went online and looked at the prices of relays... I saw the average price was $40 and I went to a place in Garden Grove that had the piece for $23 after tax.

I went and bought the piece and then spent all of literally *3 minutes* unplugging the old relay and plugging the new one in. I spent another 5 vacuuming out the fridge and cleaning it up.

Thanks to Alex's diagnosis, I was able to repair my refrigerator very quickly and cheaply with a 5 minute google search of my problem. In this respect, $30 was cheap. I really would have liked to have given them the business and would have had no problem spending up to $150 for him to repair it.

So... I do not think that the $370 total I was quoted for something that costs $20 in parts and takes less than 10 minutes to complete is justified and is the reason I'm giving them 2 stars.

Edit to respond to "I dont think it is fair that you gave us 2 stars without ANY knowledge about appliance repair.": You see this is the reason that you got 2 stars... I fixed it for $20 not knowing ANYTHING about appliance repair and you charged $350 more than that.

Also... Does anyone use punctuation anymore? Everyone of these posts other than mine is just a run on paragraph. It makes you think that it's the same person writing them all. Couldn't be, now could it?

Business Response:

dont agree Thank you for using our company to diagnose the problem for your appliance. I dont think it is fair that you gave us 2 stars without ANY knowledge about appliance repair. Other companies charge over $480 to repair this problem. The reason why you bought the part for so cheap is b/c it's a universal part that works with many other refrigerator. Those parts are made in china so the quality is very poor. We only use original parts made specifically for your appliance. The price we gave you is very reasonable. Compare to other companies in the area, we are 30-60% cheaper and provide better service and better warranty. Also, if your compressor goes out because you installed a cheap part, you can only blame yourself (+$800 repair). You condenser has deep pores and you need to use special cleaner to bring out all the dust out of there. You only paid $30 for diagnostic. Others charge $60-120 and if you dont do the repair with them they DO NOT TELL you what the problem is. So I really dont appreciate you give my company a bad review. We did not do ANYTHING wrong, we gave you the best price and the cheapest diagnostics in the area.

I had Zack come by my house and fix my Sub Zero Fridge. I have to tell you he was the nicest guy in the world! I had sears deliver a matress for me and some mexican guys came over and were all rude and disrespecful. On the other hand Zack was sooooo nice I would marry him! He was very understanding and called around to get the best price on the parts. He gave me the best price he could get and he was the most outstanding serviceman ever! I was very pleased with him! Zack helped me a lot! American appliance repair will go a long way in this business because the are all about customer service! I gave him my number and hope he calls me to take me out on a date :) lol

So, I woke up yesterday to go to work. I had some fish in my fridge that I made the day before, so I could eat it and then go to work. When I opened the Fridge, the hot air hit me right in the face and the smell of BAD fish almost knocked me down to my knees! I have no idea what happened, but over night my fridge started to blow hot air instead of cold! I knew I had a problem... I went online and found American appliance repair. I called them at 7 am. I had to be at work at 9am. I told them that i lived right down the street from their office and needed my fridge repaired ASAP. The tech was at my house within 20 minutes. He fixed the fridge before 8:20am and I was able to make it to work on time! Great service!

Hello, My name is Lisa. A few days ago I called American Appliance Repair to get my Whirlpool Front load washer fixed. I read a several reviews on this company on google and here. I was impressed with what people had to say and decided that they would fit the profile to fix my appliance. It was 7:30pm. I went to their website at www.vipapplianceservice.com and scheduled an appointment there. It was very easy! I gave them some basic info about myself and the type of appliance I had. I expected them to call me the next day, but to my surprise they called within 3 minutes to confirm the appointment and to make sure the address was correct. It was a great experience! The tech was right on time the next day, and completed all the necessary work on the spot. He had all the necessary tools and parts on him. So there was no need for a second appointment. I received 20% off labor since i was a AAA member and scheduled an appointment online. I also mentioned that my Dishwasher was leaving white spots on my silver wear, but i did not expected him to care, just to give me a little tip on how to fix it... Once again to my surprise, the technician cleaned my dishwasher with a special chemical to get all the calcium out. AT NO CHARGE! I did tip the man, because he deserves it! Great Company, Great Prices, Great Customer Service! A+

When my GE double oven and my Kenmore Stackable Dryer/Washer broke, I was recommended this company by a friend. At first i was a little scared to use a new company, but i was reassured by my friend Anna that they are THE BEST in the business. Anna had them fix her Refrigerator a several month ago and was very satisfied. So i decided to go ahead and try them out.... Turned out to be that they are THE BEST in the business! When i was given an estimate, there was no doubt that I will use them again and again! I had my oven fixed before and i was charged an outrages amount of money by GE AUTHORIZED repairman! I was shocked how much i had to pay that time but had no choice because it was right before the THANKS GIVING. American Appliance Repair charged 63%(yes I did calculate it :)) less than the Authorized GE repairman. American Appliance Repair is highly recommended! I scheduled an appointment on their website. They have a LIVE-SUPPORT CHAT when you are making an appointment online! I was doing an online chat with this wonderful man by the name of Alex. He was very professional, and made it so easy to schedule an appointment! I mean WOW! Where else can you do that?!?! The technician was a wonderful guy! Very knowledgeable! He explained what the problem was and how to prevent it from happening again! To describe this company in one word would be easy - THE BEST!
