Controlled Burn Fitness offers Non-Impact Personal Training Sessions and Group Fitness Classes. Controlled Burn combines some of the world’s best body conditioning disciplines: NASM Optimum Performance Training, Pilates, Yoga, Ballet Technique, and Technical Jazz Warm-Up Exercises. The classes are unique, intense, and progressive classes that focus on core-integration, proper skeletal alignment, breath control, and endurance. While following a general structure, each class progresses with consideration to all levels of participants, and will be adjusted to accommodate the group’s general interest, abilities, physical strengths, and limitations.

Controlled Burn Fitness - Melissa Gutierrez

Melissa Gutierrez is amazing not only as a one-on-one personal trainer but also working with a group of people with varying fitness levels. With her background in dance, her vast knowledge of the human body, her love of hiking and the outdoors, and her unique way of motivating people from the very fit to those trying fitness for the first time, she is the ideal trainer. I highly recommend Controlled Burn Fitness and Melissa!

Happy Place

I am delighted with my experience. When I first started, Melissa evaluated my "full-figure", considered my age and lack of activity. She explained that I was a "special needs client". I agreed immediately and trusted her vast knowledge to keep me from being injured. I have been going to the 6:00 am group class and she always adapts whatever won't work for me. I would never go to one of those chain gyms (read - impersonal money grabbers) where no one watches and makes sure you are doing something right or more importantly - safe. I am blessed by Melissa's care and concern for me and my health. The fact she has all of those certifications is just icing on the cake. I have every expectation to have increased endurance for a trip I'll be taking this October. When that's what I told her, she explained more about various balance exercises and other functional movements that will help protect me from falls.

Review of The Class & Cardio Conditioning

I absolutely love taking these classes. Since taking these classes I have become much more aware of my body and how all the muscles tie in to give me better posture and flexibility. The classes are great for every level from Beginner to advanced you will be challenged at every level. taking these classes I am now more flex-able and actually have better posture. I will definitely keep taking these classes, and I cant wait to try the rest. As a personal trainer there is no one that beats Melissa. I have never had as great a personal training session as I did from Melissa. I have spent years doing certain exercises the wrong way with the potential to seriously injure myself. Working with Melissa has helped me correct some "bad" exercise habits and helped strengthen my muscles in way I never thought possible

Melissa is the most incredibly awesome instructor you will ever find, guaranteed!! She is extremely dedicated, knowledgeable, effective and fun. Her classes are like NOTHING you have ever experienced. You'll feel muscles working that you never knew you even had!! I HIGHLY recommend her, she will enhance your body, your spirit, and your mind! Melissa Gutierrez is without a doubt the best personal trainer. With her experience in dance, extensive knowlege of the human body and extraordinary motivational skills she gets fabulous results. She has worked with top professional athletes to the older person exercising for the first time. She has a special intuitive gift of knowing what is best for all levels of training. Melissa is creative and combines a vast array of techniques and movements. It is a joy to work with this amazing woman. Your mind, body and soul will thank you for working with her and the Controlled Burn Fittness Studio.

Personal Trainer

There are a lot of trainers to choose from-and Melissa is by far the BEST I have ever met. She is very focused on correct technique and I'm really seeing and feeling the results. --she really knows her stuff. She makes you work hard while gaining a new appreciation and understanding of what you are capable of accomplishing. I highly recommend her personal training and group classes to increase your energy, stamina and flexibility--and without injuries.

LOVE this class. I'm used to instructors who don't pay close attention and--wow, what a great find Melissa is. She is ALL about proper form and really works you out. My favorite expression is, "are you feeling it in the cheeky bits?"
