Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network consists of the most amazing group of volunteers who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Cairn Terriers and high Cairn mixes.

Unlike most other rescues, Col. Potter will turn down no Cairn who is capable of being rehabilitated. Age - no problem. If the dog is 16 so be it. S/he deserves to be rescued. Illness - no problem. Injuries, pneumonia, birth defects, etc. Col. Potter cares not. The dog is rescued.

This is truly an amazing organization. If the world respected other people like Col. Potter respects Cairns (and its volunteers) we would be living in a Utopia.

One of the most wonderful 100 percent volunteer organizations I have ever seen. This is a first class organization that saves cairn terriers, aka Toto, from horrible circumstances and also take in owner surrenders and strays. Once they have them, they receive the finest of care. They are placed in foster homes that evaluate them and make sure they know what their personality is and all about their behavior while they wait for their forever homes.

I am lucky enough to be one of those forever homes, but I met a lot of Col. Potter angels along the way. My adopted baby girl was afraid and bolted and got out of my hands. The volunteers from this group did everything from give their time to their money to their frequent flyer points and they came thousands of miles to help search for her for over seven weeks until she was found safe and sound. This is one fabulous group of cairn terrier lovers and some of the most wonderful humans to ever grace our planet

CPCRN is a nonprofit formed for the purpose of rescuing and rehoming cairn terriers (purebred and mixes) which are homeless or about to be homeless, including those in shelters, breeding facilities, puppy mill auctions and owner surrenders. They facilitate the pickup of the rescued dogs, provide vet care, including spay/neuter; rehabilitate by placing into all volunteer foster homes. The foster home does potty training if required, socialization and evaluation of personality to assist in suitable placement of dogs in forever homes. A thorough adoption process is in place, including reference check of potential adopters and home safety visits prior to approval. Adoption fees are reasonable and age adjusted. Post adoption support is extensive via on line groups and individual follow up. CPCRN also provides educational information on the proper care and responsible ownership of the breed. In 2007 over 350 dogs were rescued and rehomed by this all volunteer organization.
