I realize contractors are notorious for being terrible to deal with, but Bill Shields has made every othe contractor I have worked with a true PLEASURE (and I work in the real estate industry)! A small bathroom job, estimated to take 2 days, left me without a functional bathroom for roughly 2-3 weeks. Not only that, the job was never FULLY completed. After a few days I had tiles popping up on my floor; after only a month the grout in the shower completely GONE (causing a real concern seeing as I live in a condo and there is a unit below me)... These are only two issues from the MAJOR punch list created for Bill Shields. After a month of trying to get in touch with him he only responded once contacted from a different phone number he did not know. After 3 weeks of lying about when he would come out and never showing up, he sent out someone else to look who said I would need an entirely new floor put in along with numerous other touch-ups. This was two weeks ago and now he has again become UNREACHABLE. Not worth the fact that I now have to contact PA licensing department, his insurance company and a lawyer... I would say save yourself the time AND money and find yourself another contractor!!!

I wanted to take this opportunity to pass-along an experience with dealing with a good contractor.
What happen do me can happen to anyone at any at any time without any notice; I have a toile on the second floor of my home , the water tank crake and crated water damage to the second , first and basement of the property over $5,000 dollars . The Insurance Company did not provide the full dollar expense to repair it. With the pressure of finding a reliable contractor to work with me with the given budget, I Search via Service Magic contractors. After reviewing (8) contractors proposal and there personality, there was one contractor that couth my trust this was Shields & Son Inc.
Shields & Son Inc did a wonderful quality job. The quality and craftsmanship and workmanship were of eye caching finishing of excellence. There personality and trust worthy advise to get the job done fast and economic was valuable. Bill thank you, you?re the best.
Had a dealings with Bill Shields for a tile project where he was given a deposit. For numerous reasons, one being his soured relations with my client, the job was cancelled. Trying to be fair, I allowed that he should keep 500.00 of the deposit to compensate for time and troubles of doing an estimate. Sadly, he refuses to respond to my request and avoids communication, choosing to keep all for nothing. Not sure of his work quality, (although, Service Magic . com has some bad reviews), but I would not vouch for his honesty and character. Be cautious
I can not believe the workmanship and personalized job Mr Shields and his crew had when they remodeled my kitchen and basement.They take great pride in thier work and the price was so much lower than the othe prices I recieved.
I am looking foward to working with him again.
