I have used the services of ALB Granite for the third time in three months and I am very pleased with their fit, finish and design knowledge in granite counters and bath installs. I have had companies do many granite installs over the years and have had both good experiences and bad. Having used some of the major granite countertop design firms in the Philadelphia area, I feel I know more about the topic then most people. To my dismay some of the most well know granite firms in the Philadelphia area come up lacking. I need a company who will make my job easer not more stressful. ALB adds time to my life and in this economy I need that. I want a partner who anticipates my needs, not a competitor who makes my job more difficult. Real installation times are critical in my line of design work. ALB did not skimp on my first job which was small and left the kitchen cleaner then they found it, which saved me time and money. The installation costs are small compared to almost any other granite fabrication and installation firm in the area bar none. Finding a good granite installation company has helped me concentrate on my design business, I??ll recommend them without reservation.

We just got our granite installed and Leo and his team did a great job. I was very apprehensive at first after I read the reviews. At first, when the granite arrived, I thought Leo cut my L shape from the wrong side of the granite, so the men stopped the work, and I called Leo. He reassured me he cut the granite as directed by me and since I had a picture of the slab I looked at it closely and confirmed. I must slightly agree with the prior review about the edges. The ogee edge he had in his showroom was a little deep and since my parents got ogee edge in their kitchen I kind of knew what I wanted it to look like., I explianed to Leo I didnt want the cut to be so deep. He listened and gave me beautiful edges. Our slab is called River White and it looks so sharp, we love it!! The price is also great. We shopped around and it was the lowest price we found. I would highly recommend and use him again.

I wish I could post a pic because it looks that great!

The granite counters at ALB granite are much cheaper than at other local competitors, but you get what you pay for. Overall, our counters are passable, and better than our former laminate. But are they worth almost $2000? No. ALB granite is not expert at what they do, they are unprofessional and their work is simply not that great. There have been several problems:
1. They only templated for 1 of our 3 countertops, and took measurements for the other 2. All 3 counters consequently have different length overhangs than each other, and the one over our island and dishwasher is off center, with too much counter hanging over the back.
2. In the showroom on 2 separate occasions we were shown "demi bullnose" edges, once by Leo and once by Bob. We chose to get that edge, after looking over the different available profiles on ALB granite's website. When the counters were installed, we could clearly see the edges weren't demi bullnose. When we called to discuss that, we were told we got half bullnose, that we were shown half bullnose in the showroom, that they don't have demi bullnose, and that demi bullnose and half bullnose are the same thing. When we pointed out that on their website they are most definitely not the same thing, the person we spoke to didn't even know what was on their website for their own business!
3. When we asked how to clean the counters, we were told (two different times) to use soap and water. Lots of research online taught us we must never use soap and water, and that we should find out from the fabricator what they recommend for our particular granite.
4. Of course there are some pits and tiny holes in granite counters - it's a natural product. But there are far more than we were led to believe we would have, and they are quite noticeable. We've had to ask 3 times what to do to minimize their appearance.
5. We've called 3 times since getting our counters installed to talk about these issues and get our questions answered and never reached Leo. We talked to Bob twice and some woman there once. Both of them said we needed to talk to Leo to get answers to our questions, and they took messages from us, and Leo never called back. No surprise - he got our money already.

Bottom line: buyer beware! If a price seems to good to be true, it probably is!

These guys did all the granite work at the swanky new McFadden's Restaurant in Philly's Citizens Bank Ballpark. So basically the ballpark is one of there showrooms, granite countertops for miles. ALB-Granite is a family run company, that specializes in Classic European Granite Work. They do such good work that the stadium of the World Champions uses their granite craftsman and expertise. They just completed our Hotel Restaurant and the work is top notch, price is not bad at all. I will recommend highly.

They did all the stone work on the new bank in Frankford. It all looked good. Alot of times these granite companys don't line up the stone properly. They layed the base well and left no debris.
