No one should believe "Kathryn S." as her review is not legitimate, unfortunately. But, should anyone be surprised?
Before considering a hair transplant with John Lord (who is not a real doctor) or Fred Garcia (who appears to have a number of complaints against him from dissastisfied patients), just review what others have to say about their work.
You may also want to look into John Lord's FELONY CONVICTION related to hair restoration.

Dr. Fred Garcia did my procedure in mid December 2010. Paid $2400. He said he implanted 1600 graphs (times two or three hairs per graph) on the top and bangs area. I am female, in my 50's, with thinning hair. I've had this done in Mexico twice. 300 graphs for $1000. No shots to stop the severe swelling. I looked like elephant man with black and swollen eyes for two weeks. Now that was a joke. Twice. No after care at all. Argentina was $1000 for 1000 graphs. Great experience. Not willing to pay the airfare and hotel for that again. Did have a bit of infection this time, but I get this with any operation because I am type 2 diabetic. I had antibiotics given twice. My scare was probably worse than most due to the fact they took a large chunk of skin because my hair is thin and fine. It took time to pull and stitch the skin together. With the infection, it just finally healed early February. Argentina they put me to sleep. Here you are awake. You feel the pressure of the cutting of the skin, shots, etc. None the less, I have massive hair coming in. Yahoo!!!
I bought a light to grow hair on ebay for $179 with 21 beams (not like the expensive hair combs with 1/3 the beams that can cost $500+). (Be gentle,do not cook your new graphs) The office is an old office, but the place is packed everytime. Last Saturday there were one new customer and a 2nd time customer getting hair implants. A customer who had three previous surgeries renewing a hair grow prescription. All in their thirties. Three older men utilizing the hair lights. Best deal for the price.

I had my consultation at Medical Hair Reconstruction which is the new clinic after Surfside Medical was closed down.
I met with John Lord who claimed to have over 20 years of experience in hair transplants to impress me. I guess he didn't feel it important to mention that those 20 years included a felony conviction for his behavior in hair transplants and patient after patient complaining of being butchered by him and his staff. He also had some hocus pocus laser treatments to sell me but I saw right through it that it was garbage. If DHT causes hairloss which is what all experts say, how can a few months of laser treatments (that costs thousands of dollars) cure your baldness? It makes no sense as you keep producing DHT (men and women) and so the baldness would just come right back even if the laser did help. Total scam.
I was not scammed by him as I did research on him after I left his office and looked at the horrible quality of the before/after photos on his website. Thank God for the internet. Because of the internet I have not been butchered by him and I have not had thousands of my hard earned dollars taken away from me by someone who preys upon the emotional state of those with hair loss.
First of all, I like to thank the www.insiderpage.com owners who open the door for me to write a review. This is not only a review, but detailed description of my worst experience at Surfside Medical Hair loss center.
I really don??t know how to put my feelings in words. John Lord promised I would get full hair (regardless of my area of baldness) for only 2,400 dollars. I did not have too much baldness in the beginning, but when he had sent me a picture of 3-6 months transplant progress, I thought 2,400 might be reasonable enough to spend in order to cover the space on my scalp once and for all. He also said 2,400 was the latest offer for full hair transplant considering budget crisis in the Nation. There was no way for me to know the fact that he is SUPER SCAM I have ever encountered.
Dr. Garcia performed the surgery, and then John said I had to pay 200 for the medication which was in fact saline water and some medication which I even don??t know if it worked. Then he showed me tentative plan for laser treatment which I think was another rip off because he never talked about it when we agreed in the beginning. Only during the first two weeks of my surgery, I had to spend over 3,200. I carefully followed the laser therapy for 3 months in order to make sure I won??t mess with my hair. I paid for the laser treatment and followed the treatment plan carefully. Three months passed, I only had very few hairs. Six months, seven, eight months passed, still my hair density was the same. I have been silent hopping some progress would be seen may be in one year time. Today is my full year, and I am still bald with very skinny hairs 5 to 10 centimeters apart with irregular distributions and shape deformity. Worst of all, the huge back scar left me embarrassed indicating that I had messed up hair transplant which I don??t want anyone to know. Before I had this procedure, I used to cut all my hair short in order to even out with my baldness. But now when I cut short, the big scar across the back of my head is embarrassingly seen from any distance. My worst episode was when a friend of mine in
Anatomy class, who does not know I had a procedure, once said, ??Hey, wasup with your head? Something is different. Inferior to your external occipital protuberance, you have a valley across your head that resembles Grand Canyon seen from the helicopter.? I had to tell him the truth with embarrassment.
John said he would provide full graft, but that is his first step to tie you into paying for his scam. He knows he never give you full graft, why? Because he wants you to go back again another time for another procedure paying another 2,400 plus miscellaneous expenses which will eventually take you to another over 3,500 dollars. How do I know this? Here is what happened. Six months after my procedure was done and I left them, he sent me a letter with another offer for 2,400 dollars. The big question is, if I had a lifetime full graft six months earlier, and still waiting for full growth, why does he send out another offer for another procedure? The fact is that he knows he does not provide enough graft and he is certain that you will still remain bald afterward, at which point he will suck another hard-earned cash out of your pocket. Insurance company does not cover your expense and you have to spend from your pocket.
Now, since everyone is screaming at him from every corner, he decided to change his name from Surfside Medical Hair Loss Center to ??Medical Hair Reconstruction?. If you have good name, you never change that good name because that is the mark of your credible identity. If you have good name and decide to open another branch, you would give extensions such as Surfside Medical Hair Loss Center 1, center 2 etc?You only make radical changes to your name to play another scam with another innocent public when you are messed up with the first name. To make the long story short, I would like to tell you that I take my busy school time in order to provide public awareness hopping that this review helps people to make reasonable decisions to find another credible transplant center or just live as you are. It is much better if you live as you are or make a research and find another transplant center rather than having a procedure that leaves with the baldness and big scar of not only your head, but also your pocket.
Good luck as you make sound decision!

Does anyone remember the piece on the news in LA a few years ago about one of their so called Doctors causing a paitients death after the procedure? Please to all who reads this do NOT go to John Lord or anyone affiliated with him. this was the most traumatizing experience, I have ever had in my life. These people should go to prison. I had a hair transplant here a few years ago. I am a female and way too vain for my own good. I honestly didnt need the transplant and no ethical doctor would have done one on me, but these people didnt hesitate to take my money w/o ever letting me meet the Dr. All of my friends told me I didnt need it-but I didnt listen. Now I understand as since I have very little hair left and to this day it continues to shed at an alarming rate. Now I have to wear a hairpiece. I never shed one hair before this . After about a month the hair minitaurized so much, it doesnt even look like hair anymore, more like trasparent thread. Females are not good transplant candidates, but do u think any of these people would tell u that? When I went at my scheduled time, there was a mistake in scheduling and I had to wait 4 hours before I was treated. When I finally did meet the Dr, he didnt even speak English and was putting the hair in the wrong place. When I tried to stop him he didnt understand me and there was no one else around at that hour to help me . When I called and told the clinic about wht had happened, they were rude and all they offered was to sell me some bogus products and light therapy treatments. . .
These are the most unscrupulous dishonest, criminal people.
I wish there was a way we could all contact each other and sue this SOB for all the pain and suffering he has caused us.

John Lord and his wife are professional cons! I have been ripped off by them. They appear to be professional at first, but then they reel you in and take your money. Beware any doctor w/ a valid medical license can practice, but it does not make them specially trained for hair procedures! The new doctor they hired, Dr. Fred Garcia, left me with the most hideous scars on my head, and numerous infections, not to mention I have not had any growth after the surgery performed by him. Do the research, and spend the extra money to get good results!!

What "Kathy T." forgot to mention in her laughable advertisement for Surfside Medical is that "John" is the notorious John Lord, a convicted felon who owns Surfside and Crown Cosmetic Surgery. "Kathy T." is likely John Lord or his wife.
She also fails to mention that a patient DIED at that facility getting hair transplants and that the doctor that John Lord hired had his medical license revoked. They overdosed the patient on lidocaine and killed him. John Lord also owned a place called "The Lord Clinic" that did hair transplant, hair potions and hair laser rip off treatments. His new clinics are always the same quackery.
She also fails to mention that there are plenty of complaints against John Lord (who is not a real doctor) and his various clinics that seem to change names whenever the heat on them starts getting a bit too hot.
The convicted felon John Lord is now doing hair transplant surgery under the clinic name of Medical Hair Reconstruction. How many horrible hair transplants will come out of there? Will another patient die?
Stay away and go to a legitimate clinic and a real medical doctor. Do research on the internet and meet several doctors.
These people are bad news and scary.
My husband just had his hair back after years of baldness!!! I had told him to give up on trying to look young again and that I loved him regardless of the number of hairs on his head. But he kept looking and searching until he found this clinic. The director John was so friendly in our first visit, then the surgery took place the week after. For $2,400 my husband got a full head of hair... in only 8 weeks we started seeing hairs grow... I'd like to post photos, but not sure if I can in here... I recommend this place to anybody that is looking for ultra-quality without breaking the bank.
