My 2004 BMW 325i recently broke a main belt, causing the engine to overheat, pinning the temp meter in the red. Since this happened in Newport, I had to have the car towed 146 miles to a BMW dealer in Portland. The service agent at the dealership told me it would cost at least $400 just to diagnose the problems. After installing a thermostat to start the engine and test it, the bill went to $438 and the estimate of repair costs ranged from $800 to $6000 (depending on how much damage they found in the engine).
Reminded that my son (previous owner of the car) had some work done last summer at Dynasport, I called Dynasport service manager/head technician Ryan Haines and he shared my surprise at the dealer's bill for just diagnosing my problem. I told the dealer not to do anything further, paid the $438 and had it towed to Dynasport. The next day, Ryan called to say he completed the repairs and the bill came to $365.
My Beemer has been running perfectly ever since. Ryan Haines loves BMWs (you should ask to see his vintage red convertible that he has crafted into a jewel on rubber tires) and Ryan also loves to help his customers. He even told me how to save hundreds of dollars to fix a paint chipped rear bumper. With Ryan to service my car, I will be driving it for another 100-thousand miles (at least). Finding an honest mechanic for a foreign car is like finding a diamond on the beach. Bob O'Brien

Bought 03 Mini Cooper JCW earlier this year, and found
Dynasport while searching for OTHER THAN dealership
service. I couldn't be more pleased w/ Ryan's work. He inspires confidence w/ his wide knowledge and experience w/ Minis. His shop is orderly and professional, his work is more than satisfactory, and his diagnostic skills and competitive rates equals the best deal available. And, Dynasport is easy to get to. Why would I go anywhere else.

I was referred to Ryan/Dynasport by friend, when I explained that I was DONE with the local dealership. I couldn't have been more impressed with the service and repair - and price. My concerns about convenience regarding the location were quickly eliminated when I was told that I could get a ride to which ever Trimet stop I needed. I'm sure my Mini was as pleased with the repair (diagnosed over phone, after the dealership couldn't figure it out after having held it hostage for four days).

Thanks for restoring sanity to my Mini life!

I had a very pleasant experience with Ryan at DynaSport. I was DONE with the local dealership after a long list of frustrating experiences. My Mini's issue was diagnosed over the phone (the dealership kept it for four days, then said nothing was wrong).

As far as car repairs go, my experience could not have been better.

I brought my new used mini to dynasports after reading some reviews. I was treated with respect and in a friendly manner. Ryan explained things clearly and gave me info on what would be coming up in the future but not needed right away, which I appreciate, since getting hit over the head with a unexpected bill is never fun. My mini has run smoother since that visit and I will be going back without a doubt.

Dynasport is #1,as far as I am concerned.Ryan replaced my water pump and also my Timing belt on my 1989 BMW 325i.The repairs also corrected some of my beamers other problems, you can be sure "I'll be back"for any other problems which may arise in the future.I must also say that I called around to a couple of other repair shops before coming to Dynasport, and they had higher quotes,so I went with Dynasport and I am glad I did.So Dynasport you get a five star rating in my books.John Sargent.

I've taken both of my BMWs to DynaSport for oil changes and general maintenance. I've always been treated with the greatest level of respect! All of my friends and family will know about DynaSport.

I've owned 4 different BMW's and have had all of them serviced at the dealership, until I found out about DynaSport. The service is spot-on and affordable!

I've taken my BMW to at least 3 other repair shops around Portland and DynaSport is head and shoulders above the rest. they really know what they're talking about and they only replace parts that need replacing. I recently needed to replace a ball joint on the passenger side front control arm. Auto Hause was going to replace the ENTIRE control arm costing about $560. DynaSport was able to just replace the bushings and the ball joint saving me $450! You have defiantly got a customer for life!??

I've owned cars since the 50's and have come to learn that you have to trust your mechanic like you trust your doctor. If Ryan was a neurosurgeon and I needed brain surgery, he would be my man. Fortunately it is my Mini ('03 JCW) that needs his expertise, not my brain. Recent service/repairs were completed satisfactorily, on time and reasonably priced. I had many questions about my recent acquisition, and Ryan patiently answered them all, with the confidence of his personal, hands-on experience. I have no problem recommending Dynasport and Ryan Haines for Mini Cooper service, repair or performance modification.

From the moment I contacted DynaSport Mini, which I found because of a great friend referral, I was immediately treated better than ever. Seriously, service, attitude, excellent quality from the get go.
My transmission went out on my car ('04 Mini Cooper) and it needed a tow to a local shop. I remembered my friend telling me about DynaSport, and decided to have it towed there. I really wanted to avoid going to a dealership. And I'm really glad that I went with my gut.
Not only was the car repaired right away, but Ryan, the owner himself, picked me up from my own home to go get my car. He stayed late that night just for me. WHO on earth does that anymore?
Well, I will tell you this, every appointment I have had since has been just as enjoyable. Maintenance and diagnostics are no problem for this company. If you really want the best that you can get for your Mini Cooper, go to DynaSport in NW Portland. No comparisons, hands down.

Dynasport is known around town as the premier repair shop to bring your Mini Cooper. Turns out they are also a superior BMW shop. I bring my beloved 2002 540i M-Sport to Ryan as I know the repairs will be done correctly the first time by someone I can trust. Dynasport is world class and their location makes them a clear choice over Rasmussen. Highly recommended!

As soon as I spoke with Ryan on the phone about my 2003 Mini Cooper S, I knew he was the guy for the job. He was knowledgeable, professional, and kept me in the loop during the entire service process. No repairs were done without my ok, and more importantly, no repairs were done unneccessarily. Much less than I expected to pay at the dealer. I love that Dynasport is in my neighborhood, and within walking distance to NW and the Pearl. Top quality!

(2007 Mini Cooper S)
If you have a Mini, this is the shop for you. I have had unplesant and obnoxious experiences at Rassmusen. They would not correct an issue i had with the E-Brake and they couldn't even fix a flat after 4pm. Even the one time I got everything I wanted from them, sitting in their waiting room caused my brain to drain out my ears: mini uncomfortable armchairs, huge loud TV blaring commercials, trashy magazines everywhere.
When I had an issue with starting my mini the soonest Rassmusen appointment was a week away so I took it to Marque Motors who told me they couldn't figure out what was wrong because they couldn't get their computer to talk to my car.

I called Dynasport at 6:20pm friday night and Ryan said I could come in Saturday before 12:00pm! The waiting room was stupidly comfortable to hang out in with "top gear" streaming to its tv and a comfortable couch and stools. Dynasport quickly diagnosed and explained the problem to me which was carbon buildup causing cylinder misfiring. Time flew by as I waited with 2 friendly and relaxed customers for my car which drives more beautifully than it has since I moved to OR a year ago. I have a working car now and I don't feel like my brain has been slowly spilling out my ears on a beautiful saturday morning.
