I was a boarder at Justamere sometime back. When I first arrived, as any new boarder at a new stable, it takes time for you and your horse to adjust... you get to know other boarders, the stable help and for you get the feel for the property... riding outside and in, noises from overhead doors and tractors, etc. Normal day to day activity. However, very quickly I was not happy there because of a few reasons.
The owner (Twila) is frankly VERY rude, disrespectful, and lazy. She talks down to people and bullies them into thinking that they do not know the first thing about proper horse ownership. Overhead doors spooked my OTTB and she could honestly care less, letting all her little stable help (10 years old and younger) fling open the doors regardless of how my horse or any horse for that matter, would react. (I almost had a nasty spill in the small indoor arena because one of these little wreakless girls was running around screaming and whipping open these overhead doors.) Twila also seemed to have issues taking (what I consider) 'normal care' of her few boarders. She made a big deal about pre-packaged supplements (apparently popping the cap off the package and dumping the supplement into the feed bucket is hard work), and would always make harsh comments to myself like, "thats a new blanket. Your horse always has new things... wish I had money like you to waste'. (Didnt know my money was her concern.)
If that wasn't bad enough she would leave little notes ALL THE TIME on the boarders stall doors telling them not to do certain things, blaming them for leaving lights on (when you wouldnt), and to NOT cleaning out their own horses stalls; it was to be done once a day only apparently and only by the barn staff. Weird?
The stall bedding for many of Twila's own schooling horses was always so nice. Plush sawdust... however, my horse literally got recycled horse sh*t. It was ground up dirt and poop that my horse stood in for months. Turn out on grass was an extra $30 a month in the summer and in the winter, if you didnt want your horse out in the "leg sucking" mud (per vet's orders) she didnt care nor listen. She would have others let your horse out no matter what (thinking she knows whats best). She would also put horses together that frankly, in my mind, didnt get along. My horse was consistently paired with more aggressive horses that would chew at him (causing scarring) and they would also run him off of the hay bails so he couldnt eat. She claimed he was "paying his dues" because he was new. Such garbage.
Overall, I was not at all happy with Justamere and would STRONGLY advise people to look elesewhere. It was honestly a waste of time for my horse and my money. There are MUCH better places out there that care about a horses wellbeing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I am warning you from experience!!!!

Justamere does boarding, horse shows, leasing and riding lessons. This is an overall decent farm that treats people and animals well. The inside riding is fine, the outside sometimes has poor footing for the horses.

I would try Justamere if your looking for a place like this.
