I was looking for a place to pamper myself that was near my office to relieve my stress from work. I found Water Front Spa. Even there weren't many reviews on here which made me a little nervous at first, the deep tissue massage is so good you'll quickly forget where you are. This was one of the best massages I have ever gotten... and the cheapest! The only down side is that some staff speak limited English. But they are very friendly and professional. The spa was very clean and relaxing. I will definitely be back....probably go back with my buddy to try their couple massages with jacuzzi!!!

Well I passed by this place a few times during my daily commute home and figured one day that it would be a good idea to take a closer look...I do not regret this decision.

Upon entering, you are greated by a very friendly receptionist who answered my basic questions. This was definitely a first time experience for me, so their first-timer recommendations were a nice bonus, plus it helped to make me comfortable in a new surrounding.

The environment isn't too bright or too dim, its Just right. Dim enough to allow for a mellow relaxing feeling.

As far as the massage, it was excellent! I definitely fell asleep a few times during the massage. The massage therapist (Jessie) was very good at figuring out what pressure worked best for me, and she also inquired a few times if there was enough pressure or not enough pressure being applied, which I liked.

This place gets two thumbs up! If you're around the village I would definitely check this place out if I were you.

I went because I really love Thai massage and they advertise "Pattaya Thai massage".
the therapist told me what she was going to do was "just the same" but it was the same thing as every other cheap tui-na place, including too much baby oil.not a great touch either.
They advertise 55 an hour but when I was on the table she told me it would be more if there was any but very light pressure.I put up with it, but I felt hustled.

I had a very enjoyable experience at Waterfront Spa. All of the staff was very friendly and polite but didn't try to sell me products which was nice, because I hate when they try and sell you on stuff. I love that they are open 7 days a week and have later hours. My facial was relaxing and done by an experienced aesthetican. I even received a coupon for $10 off my next visit. My only problem with the place was that my room was separated from the room next door by a curtain and I could hear everything that was going on in the other room. It wasn't that loud or obnoxious but I do think it kept me from being 100% relaxed during my facial. Other than that, I had a great experience and I will definately go back for other services.

Wow. I dont normally give away my massage and spa secrets because then i can never get an appointment..but i have to give commedation where it is due. They have earned the right. Ive been to many many many massage therapists worldwide. I know good massage from mediocre. Also value for money.
Im a female with a very bad back and i live in chronic pain with Fibro and have tried everything and everyone. These girls that work here are trained to give the best massage in the city. The thai style massage includes the rolling and stretching of the spine area and although these gals are small, dont let that fool you! If you cant take a strong medical massage then do not go here because there is no relaxation massage here. Only strong, deep tissue and if you like, they will walk on your back which to me is the tell tale sign of a really well trained massage artist.
The spa is very clean and simply appointed. Very safe enviornment for a woman alone. Have to be let in via buzzer.
They have beautiful showers in there and all the rooms are private unless you want a couples massage and then there are rooms for 2. Again, this is medical style massage for people who have back problems or who do sports workouts where they need very deep massage and stretching.
Service with a smile indeed as everyone is kind , polite and they do speak fairly good english!
I give the waterfront spa my highest reccomedation for chinese style or thai massage with backwalking.
If you need relief from back pain, DO give it a try. 70$ an hour well worth ever dime and more.

The atmosphere is simply amazing, the service, treatment, and the professional techniques of the staff makes me want to come back every week, I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. In a place where the city never sleeps, this is the one place that you can relax like never before.

Thanks Water front spa for accomodating to all my needs and more !

So, I've been around the massage-block enough to know a good experience from a bad one. My hour long massage at Waterfront Spa was a delightful surprise. After receiving a 10% Grand Opening coupon in the mail I thought I'd give it a go - and found the space to be big, clean, new and spa-like with all the requisite "cozy" details like a cushioned waiting area, ambient music and aromatherapy oils wafting through the air. While the address says 2nd Avenue, the entrance is actually on 2nd Street - a little door on the side of a large "Waterfront Spa" mural. My Sunday appointment was made the day-of, and I was glad to see they were open 7 days a week with later hours to accommodate the working crowd. Upon arrival I was welcomed with a cool glass of water and led back to a non-creepy private room with a comfortable massage table, fresh linens and a lit candle. My therapist was amazing! She was so petite and yet, as I requested, gave a very strong, deep-tissue massage. She was quiet, too, allowing me to relax and doze off a bit, but she also had a very pleasant and welcoming demeanor - not cold at all. I came in with my shoulders around my ears and more knots in my back than a sailor's rope and left feeling elongated, flexible, stress-free and refreshed. In addition to deep-tissue, they offer Swedish and Thai massage, and I felt that my therapist drew from these other styles in order to tailor the therapy to my needs. She paid particular attention to my lower-back and, well, the upper part of my, er, "bum", relieving whatever tightness my 6-floor walk-up has wreaked on the lower portion of my body over the years. When the massage was over I was even greeted by the other staff-girls with a bowl of fresh, black cherries and a glass of water to refuel after the massage. They offer many promotional deals including combination packages with facials, etc. A great East Village find that really whisks you away from it all...

I love the smell of everything they use, and I love that this is the only place where I can get my great skin treatment that I couldn't find in anywhere! I go there every 4-6 weeks and they do wonders with my skin treatment! Everyone is knowledgeable and very eager to advise you on better living and how to avoid future skin problems! No one tried to sell me anything unless I ask for it, whcih is good since I hate to be pressured. The detox program is great as well! I tried it once and will probably make it an annual thing for my body. Great natural rejuvenation for my skin that's super affordable!

I love Water Front Spa! I go there first time. It truly is one of my fav spas in NYC and trust me I've been to a lot...(i work in the beauty industry). My boyfriend and I recently went for a couples Thai Massage and it was AMAZING! We were treated like royalty. I love that after your treatments are done you can have break in the louge, have some fruit, sala, tea, noodles or chinese soup. When you step into Water Front Spa you immediately get away and do not feel like you are in the city. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so...on one of my trips there a certain blonde bombshell celebrity was also there....hint...she was at the oscars in a stunning red dress. Anyway it's a great spa!
