There are so many choices preschools in the state of Texas alone and not to mention the Untied States. So how do you know how to pick the right one? Well each family has different needs but I will share my story with you and let you decide for yourself.
I have 2 boys, one is now in the public school and one is still transitioning through preschool education. Well, my now eight year old was a Primrose child, he started when he was 6 weeks old and made it until pre-kindergarten graduation and off to school he went. I was proud that he was a graduate of Primrose until his first year of Kindergarten left a sour taste in my mouth. My other son is now attending a Fine Arts Preschool that has a focus on Music, Dance, Spanish, Math and Science and Preschool. He has learned so much more in the short amount of time with his current school than my eight year old did in the 5 years he attended Primrose. I realized that my paying into the brand Primrose, did not help better my childs education or make him a smarter child, it in fact did a disservice to him and in all honestly was the factor for him having to repeat 1st grade. I was let down, felt defeated that I had wasted his education all for a name. Wow, what a reality check it was for me. I can say that my younger sons current school is wonderful, he is in the beginning stages of sounding out letters and forming words and can really write great. Where as my eight year old is really struggling on reading and is falling behind at a rapid pace. So when choosing a school, names are not always what makes the difference, I was amazed at the curriculum the teachers would be teaching my son. I knew in the first 5 minutes of walking in that this was the school for my son! If I could go back and do it all over again, I would in a heart beat, no questions asked!

My son loves coming to school every day and talks about all of his friends and what he has learned in each class. It puts the biggest smile on my face!

I chose to tour Music and Dance because it seemed to offer exactly what my 2 year old son was interested in. We took the tour, and I was presented with a "curriculum" of what seemed to be a very structured, yet fun school. The first day that I took my son to school, he absolutely freaked out. The director assured me that he would stop when I left and she would call me if it persisted. This continued day after day. About 2 weeks into it, I received a call from the director around noon informing me that he was crying uncontrollably and she thought I should know. Within 5 minutes, I was there to pick him up. I walked in to find him at the directors desk, shaking, crying, and nearly hyperventilating, She assured me that he will get used to school, and that he has so much fun during class. We informed the school when he was enrolled that he was being potty trained, and pretty much had it down. I sent him in underwear with a change of clothes, just in case. At home, he never had any accidents. Everyday when I picked him up he was in different clothing. I started bringing pull ups, just in case. I began to notice, when we came home and he took his pull-up off, his butt looked as i it wasn't clean. He became increasingly resistant to go to school over the following weeks. The director pointed out that I was just a softy and that he "had my number." I would often pick him up early and was asked to call and let them know in advance. I asked my son everyday what he learned and he would usually respond with a song or something along those lines. The "curriculum" includes a spanish class, so I asked him to tell me the alphabet and some simple words in spanish. He had no idea. I would say 'hola' to him and other simple words that I would expect him to know, and he would give me a crazy look. In December, the school puts on a winter recital to show what they have learned. It was unremarkable and all of children looked confused. One of the owners was on the microphone introducing classes etc., and was taking everything way too seriously. It should have been a fun morning for the kids, but instead they were herded like sheep and basically shoved on "stage" while the owner was demanding silence from the audience and complete attention to a bunch of 1-5 year olds.I was pretty disappointed with the way it turned out, but still proud of my son for participating. One day, he put up the biggest fight when it was time to leave the house. I asked him why he didn't want to go, and why he was so sad. He told me a teacher had pinched and hit him. Of course I was immediately on the phone with the director, who said she would interview every staff member who was working that day. My son told me he was on the potty and was pinched and shoved/hit. I even asked him to show me what happened, and over and over, he showed me the exact same thing. The teacher called me after the staff meeting and interviews, and informed me that nothing had happened, kids have imaginations, etc. She also said that it was possible that he was on the toilet and the seat may have pinched him. The 'certified' teachers who work there seem completely miserable and impatient. There was only one teacher who I thought genuinely cared about the kids. They must have went through half a dozen teachers in the few months that my son attended. I would absolutely not recommend this school for any children. For the cost tuition, plus supplies, and recital fees, etc, you would be better off getting a nanny. They can sell it very well, but when it comes down to it, the lack of learning, lack of patience, complete lack of cleanliness (my child's buttocks), and even the possibility of some sort of abuse, is not worth putting your child through. Also, they email the parents, and have signs in the office that read: Give us a good review and save $$$ on your child's tuition. No wonder they have so many 5 star reviews.

My son attended Music and Dance in Euless from August until December. We decided to withdraw him in December, and I submitted a written notice via email and also spoke with the director. At that point I was willing to pay the fee for removing a child without 30 day notice. She convinced me to keep him enrolled for at least one day per week, and I agreed, but made it clear that he was to remain on his thirty day notice, this way I could avoid th fee and still have a little break for myself once a week. The last time he attended school was the 20th of December. Every sunday, for many weeks, I noticed my account being drafted, as if he was still attending. I brought this to the directors attention, and she agreed to refund the 2 weeks that we were wrongly charged, and said it would take 3-5 weeks to receive the refund. A few months went by, and no refund was issued, so I contacted the director again. She said she would have a check for me by the end of the week and even asked me if I d rather pick it up or have it sent. I received an email a week later informing me that the fee for early withdrawal was deducted from the amount and they deposit the remainder into my account. The email stated that because I did not turn in hand-written notice, I would be fined. I couldn t believe what I read! They accepted my emailed notice, and I even spoke with the director over the phone about it. Their correspondence with parents is almost completely via email. I m sure that an emailed notice was never an issue before, but because they owed me money, it was unacceptable. I have no respect for a company that lies and manipulates, and I would never send my child back there. By the way, they offer a discount on tuition if you post a good review. I should have known then.

My daughter (almost 3) has been going to HEB Music & Dance since January of this year and absolutely loves it! Not only does she come home talking about all of her friends (as most young ones do), but she also talks endlessly about her teachers, which is so important to us! The student: teacher ratio here is ideal as each student really gets the personal attention of each teacher.
In just the 8 months that she's been enrolled I??ve seen her just soak up so much knowledge it??s amazing. I really feel like this is the type of place and structured setting that will prepare her for kindergarten when that time comes!
I??d certainly recommend this to anyone seeking something more and a little different than your typical daycare!

My son just loves HEB music and dance preschool in Bedford, TX. He just thrives being there. He always comes home and has so many great things to tell me about his day and all his teachers. All his teachers are so caring and really take the personal time with him and all the rest of the students. I could not ask for a better preschool for my son to be enrolled in. He is just learning so many new things on a daily basis. I would recommend and parent to enroll their child in HEB Music and Dance Preschool right away!

My daughter Lana (2yo) loves this school. By the 3rd visit she was already running to the door excited to be there. Everytime we drive by she insists on pointing out "there's my school!!" She loves it and we love the bilingual and artistic aspects as well. They were great at reinforcing the potty training principles and all the kids get along very well. Small classes with a great atmosphere..

My daughter started going here about 4 months ago. She really enjoys going to this school and says the sweetest things about her teachers. I have noticed my daughter learning things that are suprising me everyday. For example, one day she came home and showed me that she could count to ten in Spanish shortly after she started going. This school is very clean and all the teachers are very pleasant, dedicated, and are respectful of every child's individuality. I think it's important (and healthy) that this school incorporates dance and music in thier education and that they support creativity. - Amber and Eric Brown

This is a great school - my 3 year old son is thriving here! He amazes us every day with things he has learned at school. He can count to 100 with very little help (to ten in Spanish) and is doing some simple addition and subtraction. He is also starting to read and spell. I love the fine arts exposure he gets here. He recently surprised us by showing off the ballet positions he worked on at school. They get my recommendation.

I must say that I did not know what to expect from the HEB Music and Dance School. My son is 5 and we wanted to keep him back for a year before entering school and thought he would enjoy this opportunity. We are so happy that we did. The teachers have been wonderful to our son and he comes home everyday with something new that he is enjoying at his school. He has found a musical passion in the first 6 months he has been in the school and we now have a direction to continue nurturing as his parents. It is exciting to see his growth and we attribute that to the HEB Music and Dance preschool. Thank you for being a part of our childs development.

This school has been such a blessing. My 4 year old loves going. She has learned so much in such a short time. She loves to dance and sing so that has been a bonus on top of the education she is receiving thru Preschool, Spanish, Math and Science classes. She comes home every day excited to share with me all of the new things she had discovered that day. We love the school and couldn't wish for better teachers!!

Great preschool! As a mom, I love the small classes and knowledgeable teachers. I also love that my kids are getting exposed to music and dance along with more traditional preschool learning.

Our daughter started off at HEB Music and Dance and we were elated at the great progress she made....so much so that we enrolled our son who was only 3 to attendas well. He is also doing great and growing!!!

The staff are all wonderful and even at our son's Christmas reciital all the teachers loved and hugged on our daughter... driving home in the car she said.... I miss those teachers. To me that says everything.

The kids are learning, growing and enjoy going to school at HEB Music and Dance!!! We have told all our friends who have small children that it is worth it's weight in gold.

Thank you HEB Music and Dance!!!!!

I am so glad the we put iur Son in HEB Music and Dance Preschool, it is the only one in the area that makes fine arts part of it's everyday cirriculum which we feel is very important. I am surprised everyday when we pick him up by something new he has learned - he can count higher in Spanish than I can - at age 3! We love HEB Music & dance Preschool I really feel we made the right choice in giving our son a well rounded education from the very beginning.

Best Preschool in HEB area!!! I absolutely love HEB Music and Dance Preschool. The children are comfortable, the staff is knowledgeable and caring. The curriculum is precisely what I would choose to do with my child if I was at home. My son is going part time and will be going full time soon, this is the only preschool he has attended and I hope it stays that way! The teachers are great and really enjoy their jobs! I feel like I am getting a Fine Arts education early on for my baby !!

Great Preschool! My daughter has been attending this preschool for almost a year now. She is an only child and we primarily put her in school to gain good social skills. With HEB Music & Dance Preschool she is learning those skills and so much more. She is not only learning her basic skills like letters and numbers but she is also learning to use computers, dance, spanish and so much more. We did a lot of research before choosing to this preschool. The prices are comparable with the other preschools and we really liked the curriculum that this school offered. The teachers are great and are very knowledgeable. They really know how to attend to each child's needs. We are very glad that we found HEB Music & Dance Preschool. Our daughter loves going to school. I highly recommend this preschool to anyone who is looking to get their child's learning experience off to a great start.

This school is amazing. My 2 kids have blown me away with how much they have learned and their behavior has improved 500%. I recieve a written report every day. My children are always happy and the staff is loving and helpful. Class sizes are small, the program is amazing, the door is always locked, they use a computerized check in/out system that requires a code, and if they had a rocky start, you would never know it now. They have obviously worked out the "kinks". If your priority is quality programing without all the EXTRA charges, this is the place. If your primary concern is hot lunches... buy a thermos. My oldest started at another school that claimed to do all the things this school does, but every single thing was an "extra charge". Their building was great but my son hated it.

This school is amazing. My 2 kids have blown me away with how much they have learned and their behavior has improved 500%. I recieve a written report every day. The concept sounds great. Teachers who have degrees and low ratios; however, I am extremely disappointed with this school. First of all, they do not have a changing table (they do not tell you that). They claim to have a curriculum and they do not have one. They cite the TEKS as a curriculum and it is not one. The TEKS are essential skills, school districts and private preschools adopt a curriculum to teach children these skills. Also, they make you purchase a long list of supplies (they should be taking care of those needs). My son brings a lot of worksheets that he does not understand and few hands-on activities.

My 3 year old son has been at the preschool since January 2010 and his 2 year old brother joined him in October. I have seen such a growth in my 3 year old's knowledge, skills, and personality! He will randomly break out into song and dance or say something to me in Spanish or French. I love the fact that he will be more than ready for kindergarten in two years. His little brother is just now adjusting to the preschool and I can't wait to see how much he excels as well! The only downfall is that this preschool does not have the capability for outdoor play. As for the negative comments that were posted, it is true that the preschool does not have a refrigerator or a microwave. Our family has adjusted to this by serving milk at breakfast and dinner at home and we can pack a thermos for hot foods in their lunch bags if necessary. As of October 2010, when my 2 year old started, the staff does actually change pull-ups and wipes dirty bottoms. In December 2010, the school implemented a computerized check in/check out system that uses a 4 digit code unique to each family and that has been a tremendous improvement from the sign in sheet. Although this preschool had a rocky start in the beginning as far as licensing and organization was concerned (look up the inspection reports on Texas Department of Family and Protective Services website), they have come a long way and I would highly recommend this preschool to anyone!

My children love this school!!!!! We have been looking for a pre-school that my 2 children would learn and not just play all day. My children get Pre-k, music, computer, dance, spanish, art, and drama! Both of them get excited about going to school and get really bummed if they don't go. I definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants their children to be sharp and ahead of the curve. Two thumbs up!

I have been waiting for my daughter to turn 2 so that I could take her to this amazing school I kept reading about. BIG MISTAKE. First of all they fail to mention that they are not licensed to change diapers or wipe children clean. So my newly toilet trained 2 year old came home with soiled underwear and a raw behind. Second her father picked her up twice without being carded or signing out. He had to ask them if he needed to sign anything. When I mentioned this to one of the teachers she informed me that they were glad that it did not happen to the student whose father is not allowed to pick her up.
. On her first day I didn't receive any positive feedback other than "she pottys' alot"They don't give you a written update at the end of the day. I was told my daughter only throws fits when I'm around on my second visit. Oh, they don't have a kitchen so your child has to eat cold food all day. They don't even have a fridge to store milk. Also you have to buy a crazy amount of school supplies, my daughter never even used her ballet or tap shoes I was told to buy. This school is $200 for 4 days only. I strongly recommend you don't take your child there.
While I was there to withdraw my daughter , it took them 15 minutes to find all her supplies I had labeled. In those 15 minutes I noticed a little girl that kept running out of her class with a big lump in her diaper. And to top it off they refuse to dismiss my $75 withdrawal fee, Oh, did I fail to mention my daughter only attended this school for 2 weeks.

I have to say, I was originally looking for a PM dance class for my lil one. But, when I came across this program, I was totally interested. After enrolling, my daughter has showed more behavioral progress in the last 2 months than she had over the last year in an in-home daycare. The amount of information she retains blows me away. Every day she comes home with something new she's learned. One day, she came home saying, "Bon jour, Mommy!" And just the other day she said, "Aloha!" I've noticed that her comprehension of the alphabet has drastically improved and she can locate almost every letter on the keyboard without any help. She is always singing and dancing around. She's actually listening to, and understanding direction much better than before. This program has changed the way we spend our time at home. My child is learning so much, it makes me want to cry, laugh, jump for joy and squeeze her for fear that before long she'll be in college and all grown up. This is just what she needs to pave the road ahead. She loves her teachers and all of her new friends. The teachers are always making sure the kiddos keep their hands clean. As well as, disinfecting all the things the kids come in contact with, on a regular basis. I am so glad for this. Especially with the string of flu cases North Texas is dealing with. I am beyond thrilled that we found this school. I strongly recommend this for anyone who has a preschooler! We love HEB Music and Dance and you will too!

Words simply cannot express how much we love this school. They have opened their doors and their hearts to our family. My 3-year-old daughter wakes up every morning looking forward to going there and seeing her teachers and friends. It has become her second home. They offer such great skills to the students such as dance, music, drama as well as regular preschool time. I never thought our little daughter good learn such skills at such an early age, however with the compassion, consistency, and commitment that this school offers she has surpassed our expectations and we feel so blessed that all her teachers are a part of extended family.

what a great concept! this preschool has dance lessons and piano lessons every day included in their program. Reagan loves it and would go 7 days a week if she could. 6/1 student teacher ratio is awsome. It is reasonably priced and the teachers are all really good.
