In ShortSunflower-colored walls, black and white checked floors, crystal chandeliers and comfy wood-trimmed leather chairs at tables and banquettes pave the way for a better-than-average fast food experience at this comfortable Creole joint. A spicy scent and requisite Mardi Gras masks drive the point home. On the plate, the draw is the massive portions of etoufee, shrimp-packed gumbo, hearty rice and beans and sausage-specked jambalaya, all of which can be made extra-hot with an in-house selection of seasonings and hot sauces. For dessert, house-made peanut butter pie entices.

Delicious & Cheap Food

Yats Chicago outpost is very much the same as the Indianapolis locations. I like to stop in for a quick carryout on my way home from work. I like how their menu rotates so you can never get burned out on the same dishes & you're always able to try new things. The owner is a nice guy & he's definitely from the South with his strong accent. He always remembers my name & is a really nice guy. My favorites are the B & B, the White Chili, and the Gumbo. Great food for not much money. That's a winning combination.
Pros: Large, Rotating Menu & Cheap Food
Cons: Parking is Tricky
