Alexander West Custom Shirts

When my grandfather had to choose his fabrics he went crazy, choosing twenty. It is a family joke that he has not bough new clothes in 30 years but he loved the process. I will have gifts for his birthday, father's day and Christmas for years.

I am 6' 3", slim and long. I always had a hard time finding the right shirt. I don't even try off-the-rack shirts and I have tried few custom shirt places in the city.

In terms of fabric quality, fit and price, you cannot beat Alexander West. I received my shirt in 2 weeks and that was much faster than other more expensive places.

I had not purchased custom shirts before, but after trying my first Alexander West shirt, I purchased 11 more in my first round and an additional 10 in my second round. I also threw out my "off-the-rack" shirts. Alexander West shirts fit very well and are very good value for money. AW has excellent and vast material and design selection and good customer service. Before purchase, Alexander West had communicated to me that the shirts will take 4-6 weeks and they arrived per the timing given. I won't be going back to PINK or Charles Tyrwhitt again...

Pros: Great material selection, perfect fit, great value for $$$, Can try 1 finished shirt before ordering more

Cons: Shirts take 4-6 weeks to arrive (but it is communicated in advance)

Coming from Europe, where I'm used to a much closer fitting shirt and style, I was having trouble here, even in NY, finding a shirt that I liked that would fit. My alexander west shirt fits better than anything that i've ever found here, and even better than almost anything i've found anywhere. Also I really liked the variety of fabric choices and how i got to choose how I like my shirt to be. Not like in the store where all I get to choose is the color, and the size is not good and it has things i dont like (for example the collar shape or with a pocket). For me its perfect because its made for me and only me, with my sizes and the fabric that I want. It fits me better than my old italian custom made shirt and it cost less than half of the price! Who could ask for better?

I had to buy a birthday gift for a friend and couldn't decide what to get him...He is really hard to shop for, he has everything. I took one of this dress shirts, sent it to Alexander West and 3 weeks later I gave my friend back his old shirt along with a custom dress shirt made to the exact measurements of his favorite shirt. He loved it and immediately got properly measured and now has about 4 other Alexander West shirts! For someone who has to wear a dress shirt everyday, this was the perfect present!

i got my husband, an investment banker, to try a custom shirt from Alexander West. After he got his first shirt, we wanted to order 15 more. The shirts fit him better than anything he's ever owned. He literally threw away all his off-the-rack shirts because he couldn't stand to wear them! Customer service was excellent as well.

I have a lot of Alexander West shirts, and I have been more than pleased with all of them. The quality, value and attention to detail are great. The company also has great service and will do anything to make sure that you love your shirts. I have recommended to all my friends.

Earlier this summer I won a raffle for a bespoke/custom shirt. As this was my first custom shirt, I was very excited when I won the raffle and immediately made an appointment with Alex to get measured and pick out my shirt. The process for obtianing your first shirt is very straigtforward and Alex helped me pick out the collar, etc. that would match my face and build. I recieved the shirt a few weeks later and was so pleased with process, the shirt and the value, that I have place an additional order. One of the additional shirts that I ordered I am planning to wear for my wedding!

As someone who has non-traditional shirt sizes (skinny neck, long arms, athletic torso) I have trouble buying dress shirts in American stores. I also live in Louisville, KY, which has a limited number of bespoke options. So to get a shirt that fits right I have to either order from European shirtmakers or travel to Cincinnati or Indianapolis for Saks/Nordstroms. Then a friend showed me Alexander West and I found an option that had good prices but gave me the tailored fit I'm looking for. The site is easy to navigate and the do-it-yourself measurement guide showed you exactly what was needed to make a shirt. I am very happy with the fit of shirts that I have purchased. The recent addition to the cloth selections means I have many ways to fill out my closet.

Pros: easy process, good selection, ability to store measurements for future purchases

Cons: others quote the delivery time, but 3-5 weeks is pretty typical for this type of service

I have one shirt now and was stunned the first time I put it on and finally understood how a dress shirt is supposed to fit. Highly recommended.

I have 5 or 6 shirts already and wear them all the time. They fit great and look great. Plus, I save a lot of money!

Having a variety of bespoke shirts made from all sorts of different tailors, I can say without question that Alexander West is by far the best. The staff is extremely helpful throughout the measuring and ordering process, showing me fabrics, collars, cuffs and quickly guiding me through the process of selecting my perfect shirt. Once ordered, my bespoke shirts arrived quickly and were perfectly fit. I was blown away by the quality for such a good price. You can't even get a lot of off-the-rack shirts for what a bespoke Alexander West shirt costs.

The ordering options (online, in person, etc.) and service, combined with the quality and price make Alexander West an obvious choice. In fact, I think all of my shirts are going to be Alexander West bespoke from here on out...

Alexander West's shirts provided perfect fitting and fantastic patterns for a very reasonable price. I really don't use anyone else now. I just can't get the same feel of a shirt like I can here. I also plan to use Alexander West's services for my clients. They have a tailor go in and measure my client and I can buy shirts for them. Beats the cliche fruit basket every year hands down.

I bought a few shirts from Alexander West and was really impressed by the quality and fit. I've really put them to use in my wardrobe too, and they are holding up well. I'd say if you're like me and off-the-rack shirts don't fit you very well, this is definitely the way to go. Good customer service too.

Great shirts and unbelievable prices.

Alexander West shirts are custom made, like woah! You set up an appointment, get measured, pick out your fabrics and after 3 weeks, you will get your shirt in the mail. While choosing fabrics, you will get the expert advice from Alex regarding which fabric color and shirt styles will flatter you.

The shirts are classy, man! I am tall and have a thinner stature, and I have a lot of trouble finding shirts that fit me. I've gotten many compliments on the ones I got from him. This is an affordable option for who don't always find stuff off-the-rack.

Pros: Great shirts, affordable price, mother of pearl buttons
