I don??t know what this guys deal is....but leaving reviews for yourself is just lame mate. Get someone else to do it. At least they can cover their tracks. This cant open any safes....accept sentry safes lol. He will also charge you an arm and a leg to do so

horrible rates - they basically did false advertising and them stuck me with a $150 bill for a 2 minute service....i checked around with local companies and found out that normally this kind of work is $50. also, took them 45 minutes instead of 15 (although the guy told me it would take about 20 minutes). didn't give me a quote ahead of time.

This place sucks. Poor customer service and slow service in general. I brought in a few commercial locks for my building for important doors and it takes 2 days? Not even a call or anything about it or nothing after 1 whole day so i called and Mark says he hasnt even started on them? I know when locksmiths are busy but if im paying more than $10 a lock?! Next time I will go somewhere more proffessional.

Cons: a little noisy

Wow this place is bad. The food is just bland. The servers are dressed like club trash just to try for better tips. They are self absorbed and all around untrained and not polished. The owner was probably the rudest man i have met to date. I would suggest running far away far far away from this place. Im sorry I was silly enough to try it.

I came into Alto to a security guard who you would think received an ego boost just from his ear piece. We were sat in an extremely wobbly table that was never fixed or even addressed when we mentioned it. Our server came to the table in shorts so short that we could see half were butt when she handed out drinks. Talk about classy. She only spoke to the men. There was a man walking around making abrasive comments about guest to his security. I was told later he was the owner and when spoken to about his food and service he becomes defensive and intense. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy bad food and horrible people!!

The fact that from the start we were treated like a group of children when in fact our median age is 30. We came to watch a fashion show where the models were treated horribly by the staff and the owner. Even when they were changing (a group of ladies mind you) the security guards kept barging in to ""check up"" on them. Then they were harassed and told they were not allowed to have the champagne bought for them. The host had told us we would be front and center (hence reserving bottle service to watch) and the runway wasn't even 20 feet near our table. When the large crowd attempt to see the show we were ripped off the booth and told it was unexceptable and was grabbed by the owner himself. I asked to speak with him considering the only reason we booked the table and the large tab was to see our model and couldn't. He was the most abrasive man i have ever met and I have been in the industry my whole life. When he assumed I was not listening he asked his security guard ""what do these B****** want?"". He started yelling about how he will not comp anything or help us in anyway but take us to the front of the runway at the end of the show. WOW what a guy. . . Not! The only upside was that the GM was personable and reasonable and a pleasure to speak with. Only problem was that we were all so upset we did not want to stay. I will never be back and I feel bad for anyone who goes.

We went last Friday during Restaurant Week, and were disappointed that a band was playing in the restaurant area. We spent the entire night shouting across the table to hear each other. The food was nothing special. I would recommend this place for having drinks and enjoying live music, but not for a nice dinner.

My wife and I visited Alto for the 2nd time today after having first gone there a week ago. Our first experience wasn't what we were expecting and we wanted to give it a second chance for two primary reasons. One, Alto has had very strong reviews by others in the community and we thought there might have been an off-night. Most importantly though was that Greg, the owner, had followed up with us after having learned of our initial disappointment. It is very refreshing to meet an owner who is so evidently concerned about his customer's dining experience and who makes every effort to be at the restaurant every night and to visit each table.\r\n\r\nOur visit today was very rewarding and we understand why Alto is so highly touted in Denver. We were seated immediately upon our arrival and were quickly greeted by our waitress who provided insightful advice as we were choosing our wine. The service throughout the meal was prompt and attentive and we especially appreciated the attentiveness and care in accommodating the special requests of our children who also accompanied us. My wife ordered the ravioli and found them to delicious while I ordered the buffalo short ribs and they were very tender and tasty. Everyone very much enjoyed their food.\r\n\r\nAs we were concluding our meal, the live band was just beginning to play. This was an excellent complement to the meal as they filled the restaurant with soothing sounds without overpowering the meal and conversation.\r\n\r\nOverall, I'm very glad we came back to Alto and look forward to visiting again in the future.

On March 11, 2008 I had the pleasure to experience a wonderful night at this fantastic resturant. There was in four party. The evening began with a brief presentantikon of ""WEST SIDE Story the Opera"" from Central City. We were treated very professionally, greeted with a warm welcome and provide with a server who was just perfect for our table. My complements to Chef Michael who create the Crab Cakes, the Walnut Salad and the wonderful Gorganzola Fondue. For my main menu, I selected the trout which was very fresh. The wine selection was perfect a with a wide variety of options.\r\n\r\nThanks, Alto for the little muffins to tke home as a parting gift, which was provide by the Chef, and is a great idea.\r\n\r\nFor my vote Altos is a keeper!

I had dinner at Alto, Monday night and it was wonderful. I was met at the door with a smile, and shown to a beautiful, quiet table. Micheal, my waiter, was attentive and made suggestions about the wine list and the food specials for the evening. The warm mustard green salad is a great change from the usual cold green salad that most places serve. The buffalo short ribs were tender and seasoned to perfection. It's not too often a restaurant will use parsnips in a dish, but what a surprise, they were wonderful.\r\nAlto is a warm, friendly place with a staff that is happy to be there. The piano music is a terrific change from piped in muzak. I will go back more than once. The mushroom risotto sounds too good not to try.

Last evening, my girlfriend and I ate dinner at the new Chef's Table and it was great! As we were seated, Chef Michael asked us about any dietary restrictions we had so that he could craft a custom meal for us. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and I'm not, which posed no problem for the Chef. Both of us had a wonderful meal served to us on a large counter overlooking the spotless kitchen area of alta. The experience was hightened by having Chef tell us as he personally served us each course what we were about to eat. Advertised as a five course meal, it actually turned out to be seven with the tasty ""amuse bouche"" to start things off and a cranberry gelato course to cleanse the palate after a delicious warmed mustard greens salad, before the main course was served. \r\n\r\nIf you are looking for not only a great meal, but also a great dining experience, you must make a reservation for dinner at the Chef's Table! Granted, it was expensive, but from the start, I knew I was going to get my money's worth! This takes dining out to a whole new level. If you are a foodie, this experience puts you in the heart of the action. It was fun to just let the Chef decide the menu which made each course a surprise. Some of the courses were off the menu and some were not. This experience has made me look forward to the next time I eat at alto as I now feel quite familiar with their menu. \r\n\r\nThe service was great, too! It felt like we had an entire team of servers at our beck and call. New forks were slid in place like magic. Good work to everyone at alto! Thanks for not only a great meal, but also a great dining experience!

Excellent meal and experience at Alto last weekend - new executive chef, together with owner Greg, have unveiled new menu - same great cocktails! - but now really distinctive, spot-on cuisine. Everything we tasted was excellent - goat cheese, fig & arugula pizza thin crust appetizer was one of my favorites, plus the melt-in-your-mouth buffalo shortribs ... great for pre-theatre. Love the commitment to live music here - now with this new menu, all around excellent experience ---

I'm not a food critic and I definitely couldn't tell you if this was true northern italian food or not, but I loved it. I ordered the roasted duck breast and it was delicious. I've had duck at a few places and this was definitely the best I've had in quite some time. It was cooked a perfect medium-rare and the flavors were awesome. \r\n\r\nAnother thing I really enjoyed about this restaurant was the service. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink...not to mention the fact that my wine glass was never empty through out the course of the night.\r\n\r\nFinally, the music was great. I went on a Wednesday night and they had a live pianist playing though out our entire meal and it really added to the ambience and made for a great meal.

I brought in a few business associates and my wife to ALTO Restaurant last weekend and everything about it ...from the moment we walked in the door was wonderful! The interior is beautiful and something you would see in New York or LA. We were greeted by the OWNER Greg who made us feel very welcomed and we felt that he appreciated us coming in. There was a perfect table for the four of us near the window. Our drinks came quickly with fast, friendly service. We also ordered a very moderately priced bottle of wine that was great. The food was incredibly fresh and came to us the moment it was finished, still very hot and the presentation was beautiful. My business associates enjoyed themselves and it sealed the deal for my company. We've eaten at almost every restaurant in LODO and this is our favorite! We felt very welcomed. The owner came over several times to check on us and the service. The ambiance, service, food and overall experience was perfect at this great neighborhood restaurant. We can't wait to go back! The live music was fun although we were expecting jazz. The owner suggested we check their website to see who is playing. Without a question I would recommend ALTO to anyone looking for a fine business dinner, Pre Theater meal or an intimate evening out with a date or their mate. Thanks Greg...we will be back!!!!!

We heard a few good things and it sounded interesting. Unfortunately, this is a bar/club that is trying to be a restaurant.. We were seated, 5-10 minutes before anyone showed up, tried to buy a beer, waiter didn't know what they had, 10 more minutes before the drinks arrive, 10 minutes later the waiter takes our order, 30 minutes later (yes 30 minutes) the cold antipasti plate and soup shows up. Between being seated and the first dish arriving was an hour. The entrees were a mixture of bad seasoning, bad plate presentation, terrible quality ingredients and poor preparation. Again, not bad if your expectations is a bar or Olive garden quality food at a Restaurant Kevin Taylor price. I kind of wonder about the motives of previous ""positive"" reviewers, this was not an ""off"" night for this restaurant.

We have heard so much about ALTO from friends and co workers. We were anxious to try it. We loved having the Valet service and can I tell you the drinks were really good after a hard day at the office? We were there on a Friday evening, service was prompt. We were seated immediately even though we did not have a reservation. The AHI Tuna on the bed of crab soaked risotto was amazing. It melted in my mouth. The rest of our party had the pasta's and raved the whole time we were eating. I was not sure about trying the Grape Martini but glad I did. The lolipop in the drink instead of a grape was innovative and made us laugh. I love to watch other patrons in a rest - the body language and faces of everyone was of total relaxation and fun. The jazz that evening was an added bonus. We have needed a place like this in Denver for a long time. This is my new favorite rest. The owner walked around the rest. the whole evening talking w/ patrons. He seemed to truly care about all of our experience and has great pride in his establishment. That sealed the deal for me. I highly recommend ALTO and have talked about my experience to everyone I know.

The owner of alto has poured heart and soul into this new restaurant venture. Lots of thought has gone into the decor, the menu, and the music, to make an evening at alto a unique experience.\r\nThere aren't a whole lot of places for great live jazz in Denver. And the acoustics are good, so that the music doesn't drowned out the possibility of easy conversation with your tablemates. \r\nThe menu is for people who want something different.... not your ordinary pizza and pasta. \r\nAnd I had this amazing dessert there that was served in a brandy snifter. What was it called? \r\nAnyway, it makes me sad to see that some of these reviews look like angry diatribes from people with some sort of personal beef with the place.\r\nI say, make a special occasion and try it out. Check out the music roster and pick a favorite. Take a couple of friends. Make your own judgments. It's the only way you'll really know.

I have been to Italy - Italy it is NOT!\r\n\r\nThe food does not remotely compare to Italy's restaurants. I'd have to agree that the food, drinks and service are over priced and terrible. The reviews stating otherwise are most likely written in-house.\r\n\r\nI'd recommend avoiding alto at all costs.

Having been to Italy many, many times I feel qualified to discuss Alto.\r\nI can?t remember the last time Denver enjoyed such a fabulous Italian restaurant. Unlike most places in town that serve the same expected menus, Alto?s choices are fresh, authentic and original. We have relied on Alto to make evenings out special ? whether it was for an intimate dinner or entertaining clients from around the globe. Even our guests from Italy were impressed with this place! Be sure to try the spinach salad with calamari (inspired and very original) and save room for the bread pudding (the best I?ve ever had).\r\nI have been to Alto 6-7 times and have always been impressed with the service & food. Buon Appetito!

The first time I dined here, I was completely dissapointed with the service, atmosphere, and food. But last weekend, I decided to give Alto a second chance. I'm so glad I did. The evening started with a complimentary amuse bouche (something with beets...but it was delicious!). We had the crab cakes, fig and goat cheese thin crust pizza, and salads to start. Everything was delicious...expecially the pizza with that perfect balance of sweet and savory. I had the polenta ravioli which was spot on...creamy, nutty and lovely with the pine nuts and cranberries. The service was a little spotty (forgotten salad, iffy knowledge of the wine), but at the end of the meal, the owner brought over packaged muffins for the next morning which made up for any slip ups on the waiter's part. The music was lovely as a back drop to intimate conversation. Alto has definitely become a new favorite.\r\n\r\nAs far as being authentic Italian though, I'm not so convinced.

Pros: the location, strong martinis, great new menu

Cons: inconsisent service, pricey

.

Seeing the mixed reviews on this place, we decided to give it a go. Well half of the reviews are true - the bad half. The food was horrible. We were the only people in the restaurant and the service still stunk. I will never go back and would never recommend this place to anyone.\r\n\r\nTruely disappointing.

What a great place. We loved Amore in Cherry Creek and were sad to see it go, but it seems they have taken a great thing and made it better with alto. From the stunning decor to the food, service and great music (a fun rock quartet the night we were in), our entire experience was great. We shared these great lettuce wraps with beef and gorgonzola cheese (yum!), then on to a half order of these wonderful raviolis filled with red onions in a bacon and tomato sauce. My wife had the pork with polenta, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and I had the most incredible veal with capers and lemon. Just room for some perfect rich chocolate cake. We can't wait to come back and try more items off their summer menu.\r\n

Pros: easy access and valet parking...a hidden gem right off larimer square...New York Style in Denver

Cons: NONE ! Will be back again for live music on weekends!

I took a business associate to alto with very high hopes. I love the location (near the office & Larimar Square) and love live music (piano player was pretty good!) but the service and food were very poor. First we were seated and no one came to take a drink order for 10 minutes - then a manager came over and helped - was very nice but not the waiter. The waiter took the order and brought the apps - which he cleared before we were finished standing there holding the entrees. We wondered if the chef was out (not likely on a Thurs night) or we heard there is no head chef - which is more likely since there were no specials, they were out of a lot of things on the menu and the food that came out was unremarkable and rather tasteless and presentation was average at best. The decor needs major tweaking - black table clothes have to go! White white white! The space COULD be really great and perfect for live music but it doesn't know what it wants to be, i.e. war-torn Tuscan look or modern black chrome. Someone please HELP these guys - could have major potential with a great group of other restaurants around the corner! We won't go back until we hear something's changed...

I am not going into detail because everything was terrible. Indifferent service, low grade food - very high prices. Hated the experience and obviously will ever return.

Alto has quickly become my new favorite restaurant in Denver. The only negative thing I can say is that it is getting too busy on the weekends which makes it less romantic and harder to have quite conversations amongst your table. I highly recommend trying this place out during the week and especially for their latin jazz brunch on Sundays. My favorite dishes are: Veal Picatta, Tuna, Chicken Scalipini. Oh, and make sure you start with the Italian Lettuce Wraps.

Food excellent - service mediocre.\r\n\r\nIf you want to enjoy great food and drink in a hip atmosphere - try Alto. Service is just okay...just as I have experienced in every other Denver restaurant. \r\n\r\nNot enough reason to avoid the food.

Wow! This place is a true find. My friend and I had one of the best overall dining/entertainment experiences ever last weekend at Alto. We started with a great bottle of Pinot Noir off their $ 25 bottle list (a great idea for Denver), went to Italian Lettuce Wraps (very creative and tasty), had the best lamb dish I've ever had and homemade gnocchi that melt in your mouth and finished with rich chocolate cake.\r\n\r\nThen this amazing jazz group started playing, and the evening turned into a complete night of entertainment. I've followed Nelson Rangell for years, and have never heard him better than at Alto. Overall the perfect evening. And our server told us they are about to open for lunch and Sunday brunch with jazz. All the better!

There are a number of excellent high-end restaurants in Denver and I've eaten at most of them. I've now eaten at Alto twice and I will be back frequently. Each time has been a great dining experience, with excellent live jazz. \r\n\r\nThe Food:\r\nAlto's menu is modern Northern Italian, for the most part. The whole grilled fish was outstanding both times I ate there. The specific fish changes from night to night, so each trip can provide new taste opportunities. The starters range from well-executed standards like caesar salad to more innovative dishes like a fondue that is to die for and a very upscale beef carpaccio. The main courses range from duck bolognese (yummy) to braised pork to chicken scallopine (a nice, lighter treatment of this classic). I really enjoyed the pappardelle with meat ragu, as well. \r\n\r\nAnd did I mention the whole grilled fish? I really, really enjoyed the whole fish.\r\n\r\nThe Jazz:\r\nThe band starts playing at 8:30, so a late meal is the best choice at Alto. The times I was there, the live band delivered outstanding smooth jazz, the kind of jazz I imagine was heard in the 50's and 60's Greenwich Village scene. If you don't know what smooth jazz is, check out smoothjazz on the web. This is not blaring, loud music that makes conversation difficult or impossible. I was able to converse with my dinner companions and the staff without difficulty, even when seated at one of the tables closest to the band. Its great to be able to pay attention to either the music or to friends and food when you want to.\r\n\r\nOverall:\r\nIts still ""early days"" at Alto but I had no complaints about the service or food quality. If Alto continues to perform at the level they are at now, will deserve a place in the top tier of Denver restaurants.

Wow, this restaurant in absolutely amazing. We just visited Northern Italy 5 months ago and have tried to find a restaurant that compared to the food there. Alto's is actually better than the food there, and the service was top notch. We have never been to a restaurant where everything was perfect from start to finish. \r\nThe owner, Greg G. stopped by our table at least 7 times to check on us and see how we were doing (Italian service at its best!) Our waiter (also Greg) did a fantastic job and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The live band was very talented and really created an excellent atmosphere. Compliments to the chef! I had the lamb sausage gnocchi, my wife had the Chicken scallopine. We also had the Fondue with fontina cheese and Italian Lettuce Wraps for appetizers and Bread pudding ?nutella? style for dessert. It was all absolutely wonderful! \r\nI can?t wait to try all of the dishes on the menu. Thank you Alto and Greg G., we will be back often!!

About 3 times a year a collage friend come to town on business and calls me to have dinner. I am from Chicago, move to Denver 5 years ago. He is from San Francisco and loves good food and nice restaurants. A friend recommended Alto?s, so we went on a Thursday night. We started with appetizers and then went to salads then soup? before we knew what happened, we had a 7 course meal and it was great. My friend from San Francisco always asks the waiter what he would recommend, for each course, if the recommendation turns out bad, he stops asking, and stops ordering. We were talking about old times and our families and kids; well we started at about 6:30 and did not stop until desert, he never orders deserts, but the food was too good to stop eating . The music was real jazz, not too load so we could talk, the food was fantastic, and the service was perfect. Next time he comes to Denver he is going to bring his wife so the four of us can have a wonderful night out at Altos.

We decided to give Alto a try on Saturday night. We haven't heard any buzz about it, so we thought we would go find out for ourselves. We arrived around 8 and were seated at a table at the end of the bar area which we were find with because we didn't have reservations. The girl who served us was terrible. Our waters were never refilled and my friend actually had to go get our drinks off of the bar after the waitress ordered them and left them up there after making 3 trips to the bar station. She never even apologized. My fiance mentioned the service to the manager after we paid and were on our way out. He was more than willing to make it up to us, but we will never return to Alto. I would definitely avoid it. If you want good Italian and a cool atmosphere I'd suggest Carmine's On Penn.

The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the atmosphere. Consequently, atmosphere does not make up for poor service and terrible food. My first entree, the wild mushroom risotto, lacked flavor and wasn't cooked enough. I returned the dish (having never returned a dish in my life). We had to remind the server of our order multiple times and when asked questions about the dishes she incorrectly answered. For as expensive as it was, I expected more.

I loved Greg's previous place - Amore. He's done even better this time and added a wonderful place for Jazz! The food is fantastic, improving in depth and quality on Amore, still Northern Italian. The service was great and I can't get over the acoustics.\r\n\r\nAll in all, a simply wonderful experience.

Great look place, nice atmosphere, but the food doesn't pan out. Very over priced for mediocre food, overly complex but not well executed. What ever happened to simple Italian food?\r\n\r\nThe San Francisco Cioppino was OK at best but not a stand out. The Veal piccata with capers was salty and capers were the main flavor - hardly impressive. The fontina cheese fondue had roasted garlic cloves and sun dried tomato strips - they should be at a minimum finely chopped to spread the flavor. The toast points were a horrible idea.\r\n\r\nThe music is too loud and the bar service is slow.\r\n\r\nThey won't last a year if they don't go back to the drawing board.

What a GREAT restaurant in every respect. The atmosphere is sleek NYC meets old world Italian. The menu offers an outstanding variety of melt-in-your-mouth-forget-your-diet Northern Italian cuisine at reasonable prices. And our server, Sara, was prompt yet never intrusive, well-informed, efficient and helpful. Later on (I think about 8:00) they have live music that doesn't overpower the room. We've sat up close and were easily able to carry on our conversations, although my favorite place is at one of the window seats. (Or you can choose the back room if you're looking to get away from everything.) My recommendations: the gnocchi with house made fennel lamb sausage, the veal piccata, pork osso bucco, and the carpaccio beef tenderloin appetizer. (We've been back 4 times and haven't had a disappointing meal yet.) One of our wine-connoisseur dinner companions said the wine list is quite impressive. \r\n There are a lot of really good restaurants in Denver, and we eat out a lot. But this place is more than just a wonderful meal: it's a NYC upper east side dining experience in our own Rocky Mtn. backyard. Highly, highly recommended. But beware: it's addictive.

My wife and I went down to try out this new LoDo venue, and we had our best time out in years! The whole experience ran like clockwork. The place was hoppin' and everyone from the valet, to the hostess and waitstaff was friendly and courteous. The wine was exceptional, very reasonably priced, and the food was fabulous! I have been to the old Restorante Amore many times, and always had a great experience and marvelous food. The food at Alto was even better! To finish the evening, a fantastic jazz band began at 8:30 and played for three hours. We had front row seats, and it was amazing. Towards the end of the evening, my wife actually sought out the manager to tell him that this was the most fun she had had out on the town in years! I would definately recommend this restaurant very highly to family and friends (and indeed already have)! In fact, an old high school buddy is in town tonight, and we are going back!

WOW this place is amazing. What an experience. We will be back! \r\nFrom the moment we walked thru the front door; we were greeted warmly by the manager and owner and the experience only got better. This is NOTHING like Sambucca use to be. Alto is light, airy and beautifully lit. An enormous bar with attractive, pretty people. A giant bright red art installation captured our attention on a huge black wall and a wine structure?enormous and holds over 300 bottles were told?all lit from behind. After having a quick alto martini (with black pepper gorgonzola stuffed olives) and an emerald martini (bright green with a giant red cherry) we were seated at our table. The decor is comfortable and very chic without being over the top. Enormous lights suspend from the ceiling and create a very soft, warm glow in the room. We selected a fantastic bottle of wine from their 25 bottles for $25.00 wine menu ?great value and nice to try wines that are not so pricy - price performance great! Things we will definitely have again: Italian lettuce wraps, bean soup and calamari salad, veal picatta, pork osso bucco, macerated strawberries, break pudding and panna cotta. The service/staff was wonderful and very attentive. \r\n \r\nWe will be back and bring our friends. I can?t wait to try alto out for their live jazz this weekend. We also sat right next to Tyra Banks! \r\n\r\nWay to go! It?s been a long time since I have had such a wonderful experience all around. This place rivals DC or NY restaurants. Something completely new for Denver!

This is the first time I have ever felt truly compelled to write a review of a restaurant based on my dining experiences. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time and the sad thing is I took out of town guests here for ""a nice dinner"". I ended up paying for their bill as I was so embarassed by the entire experience. First our waitress was anything but nice and helpful. I am not sure if she forgot about us or just was uninterested in serving a party of 5. She came across as a know-it all which was annoying to say the least. She also needs lessons on how to properly open bottles of wine. We waited about an hour for our food. While waiting, we had to track our waitress down to get an update versus she being forthcoming and keeping us updated. We finally had to make a deal with her that if our food did not come out in the next 10 minutes we were canceling our order and leaving. It did show up and we were gravely disappointed. The tuna was overcooked. We ordered two pasta dishes.. one came out cold and the other came out very overcooked. So much for a nice Italian dinner. I am staying to the tried and true Italian restaurants in Denver, especially when it comes to this price range, and I would have to say Alto is not one of them.
