My son has been going to this preschool for 2 years, and I can't believe how happy we are with it. He's learning so much and loves going to school.

St. John's is advancement-based, with a Montessori-style classroom setting. The school is part time (8:30-12:30), it has a private playground, computer center, and an outstanding curriculum. AND, it's really not expensive ($45/wk)

The teacher, Ms. Tannie, is excellent. She is loving and caring, but firm and really gets through to the kids. She has special event days, cooking days, schedules field trips, and every month the kids have "Library Day" and the library staff does a special program just for the school.

The classes are small. The teacher is certified. She has a learning-table philosophy, so each student is learning at their own level. The assistant is a little rough around the edges, but you learn to like her.

I think this is one of the best kept parent secrets in the city.
