I read about this place in S.F. chronicle and gave it a try. Boy was I surprised! The food was delicious. Just enough food to quench your hunger. the place is small. Owner does everything so sometimes it may take longer, but she does fabulous job. Will recommend to everyone. I will be back soon.

I am so happy to stumble upon this place in San Mateo. It's in shore view shopping center, hidden away in the back of burger place. I have visited them few times already since they opened and every time I am very happy with their food.
The menu was limited before now the owner has expanded with decent choices. What I like the BEST is their CHAAT. It is Bombay style CHAAT. Very very good and testy. Now CHAAT lovers do not have to make mad dashing run to Sunnyvale or Fremont.

Will be their customer for long time to come and will recommend to everyone.

I have found the little place in San Mateo which serves CHAAT on weekends. The bhel was just perfect. Pappdi Chaat too was good. In fact all the stuff we tried was good tasting. Now I do not have to run to Sunnyvale for Chaat cravings.

Guy! I am so delighted to find this little place in San Mateo. The food was light and perfectly seasoned, the service was good. I had Spinach Chicken Meal Plate. It came with Rice pullao, lentil, Indian bread and cabbage salad with green chutney. It was awesome. By the time I was done not even one grain left on the plate. This does not happen often. Will recommend to every one I know. Downside:- Accepts CASH ONLY. That was not too bad as I had $10.00 with me and guess what the meal was only for $6.50. and with Mango Lassi I was way under $10.00.

I happened upon this little gem while shopping at the market in the Shoreview Shopping Center. I saw the new sign for Indian food and made my way to the cafe. I ordered the non-vegetarian meal special and was blown away at how flavorful the chicken tikka masala was! It was so good, I bought a family size portion to take home. There are also a number of spice and rice mixtures that you can buy to prepare meals at home. I bought a jar of the spicy mango chutney and it goes great with everything!! The cafe is perfect for a quick lunch and picking up dinner to go on Friday or Saturday nights. The owner was so warm and friendly...I will definitely be back.

A very cute little place, mainly for lunch (except Friday/Saturday.)

You get an Indian plate lunch, with about 4 choices every day. A couple of meat ones, a couple of vege ones. Level of spice was just right. Prices are reasonable, service is fast.

The owner is very sweet and nice to chat with. The food is yummy; this isn't fancy pants food, it's simple home-cooked style Indian food. Very casual.

They apparently sell Indian food products (sauces, etc.) as well:

To get here, you take the 3rd avenue exit off of 101 and go TOWARDS the water (east). at the light you go right on Norfolk, and then turn right at the stop sign into the outdoor mall. It's roughly in the middle.
