Where to start with this review? As I sit here writing, I'm shaking with absolute frustration. This is hands down the WORST COMPANY ever to deal with building a pool. Extremely poor management and customer service. First off, let me state this: building a pool and summer kitchen is a luxury, and in my opinion should be a joyous occasion. Working with Aquascapes on this project has been anything but joyous or a luxury or an "escape" (as stated on their website). The only escape we want, is to finally be done with them. They claim their core principle is to "provide the customer with the 'best' products and the 'best' service at a fair price. These are the components of "True Quality," and Aquascapes is dedicated to giving you just that." If they were as dedicated at being THE BEST as they claimed, I wouldn't be here now writing this scathing review...instead, I would be singing their praises. Huge fail on their end.

1) Sales Agreement/Contract states pool completion to be "within 45 workable working days after excavation, barring time delays beyond Aquascape's control". We are currently at 120 workable working days AND COUNTING (pool still needs to be plastered, concrete needs to be stained, etc.). That is 2.5 times longer than stated. Granted my mom, who is overseeing the project, works out of the country; however, both my dad and I have been available and she has continued to communicate with them daily while working overseas (plus Aquascapes knew this upfront). Due to all these delays and issues we have decided NOT to use them to finish the summer kitchen and additional features.
2) They claim they "don't stamp out "copy-cat, cookie-cutter" swimming pools. [They] custom design every project from scratch, making sure it incorporates everything you've been hoping for in your pool and backyard project".
NOT ONE area of my parents' pool and summer kitchen has been built as requested or as hoped, it has all had to be redone at least once but mostly MULTIPLE TIMES. They claim the delays and errors are due to all the changes requested...those changes were made ONLY AFTER their subcontractors failed to deliver the design as originally requested.
3) Chad Henneck is the project manager. He rarely shows up when the subcontractors are starting and rarely comes by to check on their work. In most instances, we have had to notify him (read EVER.SINGLE.TIME) that an incorrect design detail has occured. It then takes WEEKS to be corrected. Further, Sean hasn't been involved since June. We have resorted to copying Sean, Walter and Sheryl on all email communications - yet up until today, have heard very little (Sean) to nothing (Walter, Sheryl). We have confronted them multiple times about failing to meet at scheduled times, and still nothing changes. It's only after prompting from us by phone or email to learn why the meeting didn't take place. Talk about about awful customer service...who enjoys wasting their day waiting for someone to show up? I highly question how many projects Chad has overseen.
3) Total lack of respect and complete disregard for my parents' home. The subcontractors treat the pool and yard as their dump ground, leaving empty water bottles, coke cans, food wrappers, empty equipment boxes all over the yard and in the pool. We've had to ask Chad multiple times to have his subcontractors clean it up. What customer-based company treats their customer's property like a dumping ground? Further, the HOA has cited my parents at least three times for delays in repairing the front yard and leaving dirt and debris along the curb, and again, Aquascapes ONLY did something AFTER we sent several emails insisting this needed immediate attention.

I could go on and on, but at this point I think you get the idea. It is completely frustrating and disappointing to have to go through such an awful experience as we have had with Aquascapes. They did a fantastic job selling a dream, that they have FAILED to deliver on. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone, and now know why contractors get the reputation they get, unfortunately.

First off let me start by saying that I think a one star rating is overly generous for this company.

We had decided to install a new pool in our house in April of 2013 and began receiving bids and design ideas from what we felt were reputable pool builders in our area. After receiving several bids we chose Aquascapes to build our dream pool. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive but we felt at that time offered the best overall package. Upon contracting and paying an initial down payment we patiently waited for approval from our HOA in Bridgeland. It was finally June of 2013 that we received approval and they began our build. Initially everything seemed fine and they seemed to work diligently in digging and lay out. We then got notified that the work was going to have to stop until we had the electric line rerouted and this is where the problems began. We paid their electrician to reroute the line and in doing so they broke a line in our neighbors yard (which STILL nearly one year later has not been fixed. They also left a stub of the old electrical hanging out of our pool which apparently the gunite contractor and everyone else thought was supposed to be there so it was left while the pool build continued. Apparently at some point someone finally realized the pipe wasn't supposed to be hanging out of the deep end of our pool and it was plugged and covered over. This created a bulge on the wall of the pool where they patched it all. So now we have a large (10" diameter bulge and discolored spot on our brand new pool)
We were told that it would be taken care of and never was and we can't even get returned phone calls to take care of any issues. They make appointments in which I've taken off work to be home for and they never show up or return calls to inquire where they are.

Now onto the pool deck. We had selected a pea gravel decking for ease of maintenance and to match our design theme. The installation of the decking was so poorly done that there was spots of concrete with no pea gravel in it and looked horrible. We were told that in a few years it would all even out and look normal. A few years???? No one else I knew had pea gravel that didn't look good right from the start. Anyhow after getting the run around on the pool decking for two months they finally conceded to it being a horrible job and agreed to replace it or coat it with a painted cool coating. We elected to allow them to just coat it because by this point in time (4 months) all we wanted was to be able to get our yard landscaped and back to normal. It's not the finish we wanted and we feel like we compromised as a result of just wanting it finished.

Now into the sprinklers. We made sure to factor that into our build cost. Since then I've paid two other irrigation contractors a substantial amount of money to fix what they never did nor would.

Now despite having an Aquascapes warranty we can't even get a call back for issues to be fixed that have been ongoing for nearly 9 months now.

It's hard to discuss all the negative things that we've experienced with this contractor but I have pictures that would likely deter anyone from ever using them for a pool project.

Also note that you will be required to pay 100% of the cost prior to the pool ever being completed. As such once they are paid in full they could care less about you nor the warranty they claim you have.

If anyone is thinking about utilizing this contractor and would like to see pictures of everything described above I would be more than happy to email them as you can't post them on here. There's far more deficiencies we settled for that I haven't even listed here as we just got tired of feeling like our dream pool was a nightmare due to Aquascapes.
