I Email Mr. Richards, that my son don't want to continue his Tae Kwon Do anymore. And inform that my Family Financial Situation. That we don't have enough Money to pay my son Monthly dues of $99. I try my best to explain to him about this.

I would not recommend. Our experience with the owner of Seattle Tae Kwon Do has been terrible. Poor customer service. Even when trying to work to get out of the first year agreement in writing, with a doctor's recommendation for our son

Seattle Tae Kwon Do is great. I don't know why nobody told me about this place sooner. I started about 13 weeks ago, over 40, fat and out of shape. The classes are fun, varied and really get results. I am no 3 waist sizes smaller, lost

I can not say enough about the sense of community this Dojang nurtures. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and for someone like myself who is new to this sport/ martial art, I really appreciate the inviting nature among the students and Masters. The belt levels are all represented at the school, so you can learn from the advanced belts, and yet know there are many working towards that goal along with you. The masters are amazing to watch. They are true masters of this art and yet excellent teachers. They are very encouraging, which is so important because it can be frustrating at times, however, they also encourage strong sense of discipline and respect. I leave each class feeling like I learned more about the values of TKD, that I had a moderate to hard workout, that I improved my skills, and that I had great time. I highly encourage interested people to try this out. Pros: Excellent instruction, encouraging community of students Cons: none

Seattle Tae Kwon Do has been a part of my life for the last 3 years! It's been nothing but a great experience and the school really has become extended family. From encouraging each other on during class. When we can't do that last push up, to event outside of the school as well. This is where you not only go to train and learn, but make a lasting friendship and kinship that last for years to come.

Seattle Tae Kwon Do in Mountlake Terrace is the Absolutely Best Place for Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing. The instructors are World-Class Champions, and incredibly professional. The school is beautiful, full of light, and clean. My entire family attends this school and we are very pleased. Our children take Tae Kwon Do, my wife and I do the Kickboxing. We are very impressed with the instructors knowledge, attentiveness. They have a wonderful ability to teach the very young to the very old. They are very welcoming, and friendly. At the same time, you know that when you are here you are learning from the best. We are more fit, and confident since we have been training here. I can not recommend this martial arts school enough!

We are now enrolled here in Seattle Tae Kwon Do and we are very happy. We know we are getting the best martial arts training. The teachers are compassionate. They are concerned for my kids' physical as well as emotional well being. They motivate without being mean. They push my kids to work hard without being intimidating. THE TRAINING IS RIGOROUS but there is gentle discipline. There is an abundance of talent here. The instructors are champions in their own rights. We enjoy training here. We've been to ATA, wherein the karate teacher is indifferent. Likewise, we've been to Master Han's, wherein the training is so mediocre. Knowing this, we can say that we are training with the best.

My wife and son go here and I would recommended it for anyone looking to learn martial arts or kick boxing. The Tae Kwon Do instructors Nathan, Alex, Armen, Master Lee, Senior Master Lee and Grandmaster Richards know their stuff and will even deal with you (or your child) one-on-one if you need additional help.

So I too signed up for this place using Groupon. It was very crowded. But Master Lee was very friendly, understood the situation and told me to come back when it will be less crowded. I was really surprised he took the time speak with everyone. There was a lot of interest (and a lot of attractive women). So I came back a week later and it was a great work out. Very intense, sweating buckets. I'm in pretty good shape, I run three times a week for about 6 to 7 miles and I do Yoga twice a week (am I showing off?). But man, this was nuts. I think it is a great balance for me to calm my nerves with Yoga but then get out the aggression with kickboxing. This is not your father's Taebo class. This is for kickboxing for real. And did I mention that the class is like 4-1 ratio, women to men?

About two years ago, I made the decision to start getting serious about my fitness and working out. I had taken some kickboxing classes in the past though I always felt unfulfilled - work-outs were minimal, with little, if any, attention to technique. Following the recommendation of a few friends, I began taking Thai Kickboxing classes under the instruction of Grandmaster Brandon Richards at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. Being my first encounter with Thai Kickboxing, I wasn't sure what to expect. I realized soon enough that training under Grandmaster Richards, there were no airs of who was the best or the flashiest. It was back-to-basics techniques where even the most experienced fighters were level with beginners. The atmosphere of the classes were fun, enjoyable, and, most importantly, rewarding. I felt comfortable and confident in the skills I was gaining. Since beginning my Thai Kickboxing training, I have never felt more challenged then I do at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. The attention to technique at the gym is outstanding. Classes are rigorous and often times, exhausting, but the pay-off of such hard-core training is incredibly satisfying. Not only do I feel at my physical best at Seattle Tae Kwon Do, I feel absolutely confident in my technique. I have developed friendships with fellow trainers and instructors that only encourage my growth and I am eager to learn and become better because of the environment at the gym. I couldn't be happier to be training here. Come to Seattle Tae Kwon Do! I promise you will not be disappointed!

We love Seattle Tae Kwon Do! My kids have both been going for almost a year and they really enjoy themselves. The owner and instructors are very motivated and energetic. I'd especially recommend this activity for kids who don't do so well in group sports. My daughter is ADD and has struggled with soccer/baseball, but she's doing great in Martial Arts and I love seeing her be a success!

I'm a parent of a student (10 year old boy) at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. First of all, I have no doubt that the best way to find the best Tae Kwon Do facility for my son is to see whether or not he enjoys going to the class every time and loves learning Tae Kwon Do along with the other kids. That's the most important thing to me, nothing else. In that sense, I'd say Seattle Tae Kwon Do is one of the best Tae Kwon Do do jangs around Seattle. My son insisted on taking part in the black belt club and extra class from the day one. I noticed he was very curious about the Olympic sparring gear set from the beginning and really loves sparring games with the other kids all the time regardless his Tae Kwon Do skills. Second of all, I want to talk about martial art training style. In fact, my son attended a different Tae Kwon Do class before. But to my disappointment, he didn't like it even after one year long trial since the previous instructor was too offensive to little kids. Then I had to look for a good one. Fortunately I was able to find Seattle Tae Kwon Do nearby and he loves it. STKD is so friendly to me and my son like a family now. In short, I'm so glad to find Seattle Tae Kwon Do for my son's martial art class. I'm a dad who loves my kid and I always keep an eye on my kid to see whether or not he is happy for every single activity and class. While I'm writing this review, he is going to the black belt club right now, carrying a big bag which contains his sparring gear set, humming and smiling today. What else is more important?

My son, Jerrod just attended a friends 8th Birthday Party at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. It was the best birthday party we have every attended. The kids had a blast learning cool Tae Kwon Do moves and the cake was AMAZING! The birthday boy cut his cake with a real Samurai Sword and then the instructors did a matrix kind of kick to break a pinata. When my son turns 9, we are definitely coming to Seattle Tae Kwon Do for his birthday party!

I started attending Seattle Tae Kwon Do around 1995, I was 21 years old. I have been a student off and on since then due to work and family. My time there helped not only to teach me self defense but also helped to shape the person I have evolved into 24 years later. To compare the school with the Master Pierces Bank Club (where I have also been a member) is like comparing apples and carburetors. During my time at the school I have had the honor of training with some of the best that the Martial Arts world has to offer. I have learned and grown from the instruction of Grandmaster Richards, his amazing instructors and some of the finest martial Artists from around the world who have also trained and taught at the school. Many of my fellow students became like members of my family and the bonds we share are still strong over 2 decades later. In my humble opinion Grandmaster Richards system is as powerful as it is unique and it is an amazing no nonsense hands on form of Martial Art's that is useable in the real world. I moved to the Suburbs and tried for years to find a comparable place to learn and train and found only disappointment so I am back again. The kid's program is awesome. They teach not only self defense but also respect, personal responsibility and self respect which is the best weapon any child can have in today's world. Honestly if you are looking for the finest Martial Art's training you could ever hope to have call Seattle Tae Kwon Do and see for yourself!

It is always a fun packed house at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. For years I drove by the school and wondered why it why the parking lot was filled and the lobby was packed. Then a year ago, I brought my 4 year old to try out the Tiny Tiger Tae

.

It has been about a year since my kids trained at Seattle Tae Kwon Do, my husband works at Boeing and got relocated to Chicago. The kids really loved the classes at Seattle Tae Kwon Do, and I never realized how great they were until I tried finding another school after we moved. We have been to a half dozen schools since our move. None of them can lite a candle compared to how professional Seattle Tae Kwon Do is. They were always upbeat, and the classes were always fun. When I informed them that I had to move, they were so courteous and make the cancellation so easy. I really miss the folks at Seattle Tae Kwon Do and hope my husband gets transferred back to Seattle, so my kids can resume classes at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. The Ro family misses you all!

My 6-year-old daughter has been taking karate classes here for over a year, and we??re very happy with the program. The owner is also the one who teaches her classes. He??s great with the kids. They seem to really like him, and he handles discipline in class very well. The environment there is very positive, which I like. Besides teaching the karate moves, he also focuses on life skills like confidence, perseverance, respect, 100% effort, and they can earn badges in those areas. I??m really glad we started her in the program when we did. She gets kind of restless from sitting in school during the day, and then after karate class she??s much more peaceful. Also, the life skills part has been a great help to us in talking to her about some areas we wanted her to work on. They also talk about self-defense in a non-scary way as part of the classes. They talk about being aware of your surroundings, and what to do if a ??bad guy?? tries to grab you. I think it does make them more aware and prepared without them really thinking too much about what exactly could happen.

I am so happy with the quality of instruction at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. The teachers are super and I really love the website as it has so much helpful information. They are really good at communicating to busy parents like myself. The are a first class act all the way around.

This place is awesome! The instructors are great and it is so professionally run. It is not what I thought a "martial arts" school would be like. It feels more like a fun diseny land experience rather than a school that teaches respect, honor and discipline. They have wrapped the positive elements of the martial arts up with fun and excitement.

Completely stiff and out of shape, I arrived at Seattle Tae Kwon Do with no experience but a hope to fulfill a lifelong desire to learn martial arts.

Three months later, I'm amazed by the strength, flexibility, endurance and skill I've developed in throwing kicks etc. Master Lee is an intense and dedicated master who has developed a martial arts curriculum that combines part strength training along with the Korean martial arts. As a person who was new to town and looking to start an exercise training regime I could continue with for years, I find the environment to be a good match for my personality and I hope to continue for years.

STKD is intense but has given me opportunities to make new friends while combining strength, flexibility and martial arts training. With an open environment to all beginners I encourage those interested to try it out! But don't forget your water and be ready for a tough first few sessions!

My daughter has been going to STKD in their Tiny Tigers program for about a year, and we love it!

The teachers are professional and make the kids work, yet they are also kind and really try to work with each child's unique personality to get all they can out of them. There are always 3 teachers in the class so if one child needs extra attention or help there is someone there to give it without taking anything away from the other kids.

The areas of focus are Family, Teamwork, Discipline, Manners, Respect, Control, Coordination, Balance, Focus, Fitness, Confidence, Stranger awareness, and Memory. We use all of these skills in our daily life.

A year in, my daughter looks forward to class each week and has never been bored.

The front office staff is organized and friendly, and they all seem genuinely interested in the children

My experience at Seattle Tae Kwon Do has been exhilarating, so far, to say the least.

First of all, I enjoy the flexible class schedules and the positive and encouraging atmosphere. I??m in class several times a week kicking, punching, and having a blast!

Additionally, the instructors are good role models and display how much hard work does pay off. They passionately train their students to maintain the highest standards, both physical and mental, for increased motivation and self-esteem.

Furthermore, I find Seattle Tae Kwon Do to be an exhilarating place that is dedicated to providing quality martial arts and self-defense instruction and service to their students.

My family has been involved Taekwondo and more recently in Thai Kickboxing. Marie and Nathan started Taekwondo classes in 1997 and 1998, respectively. They benefitted from learning to work towards goals; in this case towards a black belt. This transferred to other areas in life. Both served in the military and are now attending school using their GI benefits to finance their education. Nathan is also an instructor at the school. I started taking classes in 1999, partly to spend more time with Marie and Nathan, partly because I've always been interested in martial arts. I've benefitted by becoming stronger and more physically fit. I've also gained a lot of confidence. I once had a co-worker tell me that I seemed taller after I'd taken classes for a few months. Marie, Nathan and I are also involved in the Thai Kickboxing program and Nathan even got my husband Ed to join. It's true - the family who kicks together sticks together.

If you are looking for an excellent martial arts school for your children or for yourself, Seattle Tae Kwon Do is it! My children and I have been students here for about 7 years. We participate in both Tae Kwon Do and Thai Kickboxing programs, which are offered at a variety of times during the week to accommodate everyone's schedule. The classes are fun, challenging, and a great workout - and the instructors are the absolute BEST!
